You live in this town, and you just do stuff. Like go fishing, decorate your house, make money, hunt fossils, and alot of other stuff. The runs in real time, so at night, people sleep and on like the 23th of december every year is Toy Day. Your character can goto other towns as long as you ahve a second memory card. Up to 4 people can live in your town. You can trade items with people over an annoying password system. And theres NES games. This game will EASILY be game of the year in Nintendo Power.

Yes, for a game with well basically no real plot...asking what it is, is impossible to answer. But well, basically you try to make things the best you can in your town.

There is no end. A nice town makes villagers happy, and there are a few minor goals put in the game, but other than that it's just for the fun of it. If you're evil you can turn the town into a junk filled waste land. In other words, you set your own goals. And you can shape the town in any way you want.

Make the village nice.
Fishing and bug catching.
Making the animals happy.
Decorating your house anyway you want.
And possibly competing with other players.

Of course, IMO the game is worth it for the nes games alone.
