has a new musical project he's working on. since he leaft square he has been doing other things but he now has a big project with nintendo... he is composing the score for "Super Smash Brothers: Brawl!" for the Wii. I thought I'd post this here to let you guys know since Nobuo Uimatsu has had a history with RPGs, and therefore it would seem appropriate to me to post it here.

Wow. I never expected that to happen. It's hard to picture after all of his years with Square and Final Fantasy in particular, but I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. (Yeah, I know FF started on the Nintendo, or was it the Famicon in Japan?, but still.) Thanks for the news!

I knew Nobuo was working on SSBB. He's only doing the main theme as far as we know. But if Final Fantasy characters appear (and since Solid Snake is appearing, it is very possible now), he may have some more to contribute as well. It's great to see Nobuo is still going strong. All the good people are freelancing now: Nobuo, Sakaguchi, Amano, Kato, Mitsuda, etc. However, Hinorobu Sakaguchi recently started his own company, and will freelance some RPGs with Nobuo and Amano, which should be good as these three are the gods of RPGs. -CSM

which means technicly they could still make Chrono Break if they acquire the rights and such from square-enix right?

Chrono Break will only happen if the Dream Team gets back together, and all of them are freelancing now. Nomura basically owns Square now, which is, of course, a travesty. -CSM

I didn't actually know that. My finger aint on the pulse of gaming as much as it used to be. I hope he does a bit more stuff for the game although I highly doubt any FF characters will appear in it.
