Metal Man glanced at the 'hyper' beam's hit and smirked. Just now Kouji might realize how thick Metal Man's gut was--a punch of that magnitude... his fist would probably begin to hurt like satan himself stepped on it.
"Why do you punch a man covered in armor? Answer: You're blind!"
Metal Man then held out his distortionometer-wrist at Kouji's general direction.
"I reckon you think your hyper beam is going to do something nasty to me soon. Too bad. I have this."
He flipped a few dials. Kouji instinctively went to shoot it away, for he of all people would realize the power of this tool. Metal Man's status had been known to many--a rogue bandit travelling through all of reality, maiming, killing, and disco-blasting hundreds of thousands of people regardless of their innocence. Was he some sort of god-fueled balancing tool, or just a Wild West bandit of the 2050th century? It all came down to that thing on his wrist, which would be known for the horrifying things it did to his enemies.
He didn't use it often, but it allowed him to distort reality in ways... not very pleasant. Still, the shots came a split second too late; time came to a standstill seconds before they reached his wrist. Metal Man stared at it idly.
"Tsk tsk tsk. You're very smart, but you aren't practiced enough in your weapon of choice... let me enlighten you as to mine."
Metal Man brusquely spun a disc on his wrist-controls... ...uh-oh. That disc said 'Time'.
Reality red-shifted all of a sudden as the shot fired at Metal Man suddenly exploded. Metal Man changed into a rainbow of different colors... wait, no. It was the hyper beam. He extracted the energy imprint it had made on him and pooled it into a ball, adding in that missed shot and the traffic light attack which had apparently not been noticed in Kouji's timestream. He spun the thing on his finger--the angry Kouji shot at him repeatedly, but he dodged most of those like a basketball player... although a few pinged him in the shoulders.
The rest of the town bent and danced wildly in the distorted timestream, as Metal Man then spun up the huge ball of madness to the point it caught on fire.
"You're a fool to challenge me. I'm the destroyer of sanities, killer of planets, slayer of overpowered beings. Use your greatest power against me, by all means--it is by that way which I can kill you alone!"
He tossed the ball up into the air; it fell. Metal Man reared back for a tremendous punch... his gears clanking. Kouji wisely ran for cover, although it was obvious he would have some sort of code to help prevent him from being killed by this...
Metal Man punched the large, glowing, rainbow-fire ball. It shattered like the crystal ball on New Year's Eve, hurling glass-like fragments of reality everywhere. This moved too slow to harm anyone, however...
Metal Man cleverly changed time back to normal by switching the distortionometer. The once slow-moving things were now careening out of control... in all directions.
Kouji realized this a parsec too late, as everything around Metal Man, including him, violently exploded around twenty times each, hit by out-of-phase matter which was re-integrating into the normal timeline. The area was annihilated, leaving a thoroughly hit Kouji and a circular area of... nothing but dirt.
Metal Man was at the center, smoking himself. Apparently the attack didn't pick friends; it had hit him, and he had also drained a good deal of energy just using it.
But they way he just stood there, casting his soulless gaze at Kouji through his steel gray eyes, just didn't seem... human.
"Come at me, you fool! I will reverse everything you do until you no longer exist!"
He pointed a charred arm at his foe and laughed soullessly at the Nintendo-bedecked foe.
