I have no RPGs to play :(

Post by Perrin Aybara » Tue Aug 14, 2007 12:08 am

I have finished pretty much every RPG I own now. With the exception of Xenogears and its annoying as hell final level.

But now after finishing the awesomeness that was Xenosaga 3 (God, that game had an awesome ending) and the disappointingness that was FF12 (Manzier) I am left with nothing... :(

My only hope now is to wait around for Prime 3 and SSBB, which, while not RPGs, are the only games I'm looking forward to.

Oh well, at least there's always the insane amount of graduate school work that I have to do.-jay

Look for Golden Sun on the GBA. Perhaps you'll enjoy that RPG. That's about all I care to recommend right now.

I guess I'd most closely associate it with the Final Fantasy series, but still not that much like it. Personally, it's my favorite RPG game. But that's just me.

What specifically do you want to know about?

You could play Chrono Cross again. Boy howdy, there was a lot of character development there.

Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users?

I'd suggest Tales of the Abyss, but Jay hates all anime-ish things that aren't Xenogears or involving Crono's Mom. ;p

Search for Shadow Hearts, Jay. If you can find it, it's kind of like Final Fantasy set in 1914. And, unlike most other RPGs, the sequel actually DOES have something to do with the original. (You can pretty much put two-and-two together if you can only find Shadow Hearts: Covenant though. Shadow Hearts is bloody hard to find)

^And I agree with Jay, although any Xeno game after Xenogears sucks. Star Ocean is okay though. -CSM

Play God Hand.

Not an RPG - but it doesn't matter.

I never remember saying I hate all things anime.

I love good anime. Like Escaflowne and Trigun.

Although Crono's Mom is hot...

And Xenosaga has it's merits. Mainly Xenosaga 3, but still. Heck, I think Xenosaga 3 was even better than Xenogears. Simply because Disc 2 of Xenogears was horrible.

I think I tried Star Ocean 2 a long time ago, and never got into it.

I've heard of Shadow Hearts. Maybe I'll check it out if I find it around.

And I'm just in a mood for an RPG right now... I want to level something up, dammit.

Oh well. I think I may be too busy right now with school now anyway. My semester is starting on the 20th, and I already have a billion things to do, heh.-jay

(Although that probably won't stop me from getting Prime 3.)

I think I recall you bashing anime...or was it just when everyone on VGF was into a bunch of Novelty Animes like Naruto, One Piece (of crap), Yu Yu Hakusho, with the occasional Dragon Ball Z fan thrown in?

Or am I instead thinking of Tonberry2k? I know he loathes anime.

Level up your God Hand. You get a +5 to pummeling.

Isn't Disgaea 2 a lot easier to do some things in? (ie level clerics)
