okay darkness but that still doesnt change the fact that Kargath KILLED ME BY BLOWING MY BRAIN UP! no one can survive an attack like that, not even a dragon-saiyan hybrid, I don't care who you are if you get your brain blown up you are dead! the only reason I was able to continue was because Galefore allowed me to after reporting the incident. and I Really hate haveing to use BS cop-outs in battle like "it's a fire clone" or "it's a hologram" or some crap like that but kargath didn't really leave me a choice because HE F@&$ING KILLED ME!!!

and this wasn't like last tourny where I accidentally killed galefore because of miscommunication, which I attoned for mind you. Kargath KILLED ME FOR NO REASON and had the gall to say "oh, you can survive getting your brain blown up, you're a lizzard" which I'm not!

Wooooo.

Inferno, please take it elsewhere. Also:

Galefore, don't worry too much about it- T3h seems to be grading on a much more bell-shaped curve than any other judge I've seen, thanks to his curious '5 is the base rating' judging scale. Honestly, I think it's going to mess with the overall judging ratings in general, just because most judges seem to average a rating of 7 or 7.5 on most battlers around here, where his scale has 5 as the best unless you do something really major for 'wow points'. But only in regards to comparing them to judgings from other sets of judges entirely (since he's judging everyone here, we all effectively 'lose' the same amount of pointage). But it's his choice, and it's certainly something novel to do with the ten-point-scale.

We could always just call Inferno a Chuwero and be done with it.

Inferno, you keep inferring that inferno's brain was blown up. It was not. They're where two hole blown into it, but aside from that it was relatively intact, not destroyed, even the average human's body can take more punishment then that. Short term wise anyway.

Anymore bitching and whining, which is bothering more people then only myself and frankly, makes you look like an idiot. No offense, but arguing on the internet does that. All people see is an idiot. A man with an IQ of 140 and 3 PHD arguing with a 13 year old girl with less then average intelligence on the internet. On lookers will only see two idiots.

I will start burninating posts without any other warning then this one. Your just repeating yourself over and over and over. As is what is told to you. You got a problem? Deal with it in PMs.

Back on Topic...

Your problem is a common one Metal Man. It's why most fights pick up around the middle point before slowly whittling away into nothingness.

As for you T3hDarkness. I'm sorry, but my vocabulary is not quite that intesive to have such knowledge of synonyms for bastard. Woulda helped if I could. Only things that come to mind are Mongrol, half breed, and AUSTIE TABARNAK DE BATARD DE MERDE, PUTAIN DE CHRIST.

Well...

Given that 'bastard' literally means 'child born out of wedlock', you could always go with such classics as:

illicit progeny
illegitimate offspring
child of unsanctified concourse

et cetera. Unfortunately, the reason we *have* the word 'bastard' is so that we can refer to such without a lengthy explanation such as that.

On the other hand, if you mean a half-breed there's also:

Half-blooded
Mixed-race
Mixed child
Cross-blooded
-of mixed descent
Halfbreed (without hyphenation)

and various others, though most such I know of are similarly cumbersome to the alternatives for 'bastard'.

I don't even know what Chuwhero means and it sounds insulting. but anyway, I'm done complaining if I'm going to complain anymore, which is probably unlikely, I'll do it through PMs.

oh and by the way just so everyone knows if any of you call me a bastard, it's true because I really was bourn out of wedlock by my biological parents and then swiftly adopted, just thought I'd let you guys in on something interesting about me. ;)

Same to you, but there are still two more judges, man. I would like to slip in that the tipping point being one single word in a bigger work is a bit outrageous, but that's just me.

TO be blunt, I do see where Inferno is coming from. The thing is - nothing can be done about it at this point, so let's all shut up. A similar incident occured between me and Asnabel in a personal battle. I don't like going into ****ing deus ex machina either.

Repster, so how's the next round matched up then? (Whats the system?)

Err, Inferno ... where the hell did I heal? My doll never joined back together or anything.
I spell words 'differently' because I'm awesome (a state also known as 'being from Australia').
And I've said it before, it was my mistake assuming that the Phineas Gage story was more widely known.
Phineas Gage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you want to discuss it with me, I'm open to talking on IM or PMs. It's clearly annoying everyone else here.
My reasoning went something like this:
Parabolic reflector creation = cool
Diamond finger bullets = unexpected, therefore cool
Through chest/limbs? boring and inconsistent with reflector behaviour
through bloody hole in face? makes reader cringe, so good!
wait, isn't that cheap? no, since phineas gage survived it easy, and a dragon-lizard-supermonkey thing would have an even better shot
*writes post*
Actually, that makes me interested to hear the other people's writing process. Certainly something good to discuss whilst we wait for the remainder of judging.

Selene, when I read your posts, I really did love the "^_^"-speak and petting cars, but I think that the "internal thought" sections could have flowed better as prose based.

Sorry about what's happened with HotD too. :(

Joker, what issues happened with HotD/Saria as judges? I'm missing out on so much history here.

@ forums/810674-post158.html
You're a mod, copy, paste, sticky. :P

I personally think that Darkness' scoring system has its standard deviation too low, but hey, he's the judge. I'm just here to entertain.

Er...

Well, given that that's precisely how her logic-brain works, rendering it into prose would kind of moot the point of showing that process, you know? I intentionally made it a disjoint- while her 'feelmind' engages with the world, interacting and recieving stimulus, her 'logicmind' handles all the raw data, giving it a completely different (and fairly alien) functioning basis. I intended to convey that by displaying its workings as such, rather than interpereting them.

My thinking process is pretty simple, in fact, a testament to how old it is.

7 years ago, I made this up, and only added a little to it since then:

1. Size up opponent. Also, mention background details as well as if my character's been injured.
2. Taking into account current character's strengths and weaknesses, search for target's weaknesses.
3. That almost never works, as the majority of my foes seem to 'lack' them. Those that do, it creates a rather cool play-off of accelerating exploits, but normally, I need to exploit a flaw in their attack patterns/logical issue with their character.
4. Randomly pick an item; my character has many, I vary it up as he constantly picks different ones. Target weak spot.
5. Roleplay what enemy would react to it in my mind. Possibilities, of course; I insist my foes roleplay out their reaction; they alone choose whether I hit or miss, however in the meantime I try to second-guess them, then do something unexpected.
6. Unexpected thing targets possible weakness in their dodging or reaction technique.
7. Continue meta-thinking. Character has long fought, so he spends most of his time trying to psyche-out the enemy by tactics.
8. Depending on length of post, add witty reparte` and get into defensive stance relevant to damage.
9. Think if I missed anything. Try to lengthen what I can. Add more dialouge.
10. Post it.

Sure, that looks complex, but it boils down to trying to out-tactic the enemy, then hitting them as much as possible. Yet it works often, and those who try to out-think it wind up making the battle better for me, too, as then I'm able to do more than just sit there and let the foe run into my traps.

I'm a writer of sorts, but I fight for the fighting, not the writing so much. Although it leaks into my posts, I go for the jugular almost every time.

I know about Gage, I've taken both psychology and Philosophy, and I got the story from both classes but what you don't seem to realize is the method in which he was injured is completely different and did far less damage than what you did. Gage got an iron rod jamed through the frontal lobe of his brain but it never came out the top of his skull. and the rod went in at such an angle that it only damaged the portion of the frontal lobe that regulates your personality. had that rod burst through the top of his skull or gone in at just the slightest degree off from the actual angle it went in Gage would have died.

now here's what you did, your fingers broke through the nasal cavaty taking whatever bone that was in their way which caused extra damage, through the frontal lobe, through the middle of my brain and out the top of the skull taking brain and bone with them and possibly severing the one bundle of nerves holding the brain together that allows the brain to communicate between the left and right hemespheres. if that is severed the body can no longer move and any sentient being could no longer communicate. if that nerve gets severed the being becomes completely paralyzed, blind, deaf, and mute. they would still be alive because the madula oblongata keeps the vital organs like the heart, lungs, etc. running but they might as well be dead because they can't do anything in that state.

in other words they become a vegitable.
