The whole fiasco just seemed fishy to me. The way they presented it, and those fake-looking expressions on the faces of Jennifer, John and George really made it seem like the whole thing was rigged to get ratings.

The only feasible alternative idea that I've heard is that people voted for John, Jasmine and Diana because they felt the others were safe, and they wanted to make sure these three stayed in the competition.

He's not the only one that thinks that race is becoming a factor. Some of the radio DJs around here have been talking a lot about how Jennifer got the axe because she was black, which is absurd considering all of the top finalists (LaToya, Fantasia, and George to an extent) are black. If anything, race isn't as much a factor as looks and personality (which, obviously, shouldn't be as important as the vocals either, although it would help for the next "American Idol" to be likeable).

As a whole, though, the whole competition is starting to get too heated. Not between the contestants (they seem fine with each other), but between their fans. I heard that one of the contestants (I'm guessing John Stevens, since so many people dislike him) got a death threat from someone because they thought that he should have been voted off instead of Jennifer. The whole thing is crazy; a large amount of people don't seem to realize that it's meant to be entertainment. This isn't the next US President that's going to be chosen here, just what is supposed to be the next music superstar. If people don't like who's chosen, they should just go buy the music of the contestant they thought should have won (it's not as if none of the finalists except the winner will be barred from releasing a CD, it just will probably more a bit more difficult).

I'm just waiting for the day that Simon says the wrong thing to some guy, and the guy friggin' punches Simon's lights out and takes a crap on his chest. Hell, forget about catching the guy; the cops'd all be laughing too hard to chase him down.

Yeah, he could pretty much only sing jazzy sort of stuff, but what he could sing he sang well. I liked how he had a fresh sound. I mean, if you're going to model your voice after someone famous (like several of the finalists have seemed to have done; Jennifer sounded like a young Whitney Houston, and Fantasia sounds like Macy Gray but better), I'd rather it be someone like Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin than yet another Whitney Houston or Celin Dion.
