EXACTLY. Today's society is too obsessed with explosions and profanity. Look! The Matrix requires some thought! Imagine that! Most of the people who hate Reloaded are the ones who just don't want to think in what seems like an action movie. Same goes for Revolutions. The matrix is a philosophical and symbolic trilogy. To understand it requires you to THINK! This is why most people say things like "Reloaded sucked" and stuff like that. I did not think it sucked. It's purpose was to bridge the story, as all middle films in a trilogy usually do. And as for that "father of the matrix" or architect scene in Reloaded, most people just let it go right over their head. The Architect scene in Reloaded is funny because he 1)talks really fast and uses big words for no reason, which throws tons of people off, and 2)as revealed in Revolutions, it's all a bunch of crap. Haha.
D'OH! That's why she's in the mud after he is destroyed! He's using her original code for most of that scene! Thanks for clearing that up!He saw it with his "oracle powers." He was trying to understand the vision so he would know what to do to end it all.
My main complain about Revolutions was that the Merovingian and Persephone were basically useless. After reading tons of theories, I thought they would be such major characters. Oh well...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Revolutions quite a bit... but only after stopping to think about what had happened.

For those complaining about the end?
I'd like to see you come up with a better ending without making it look like a sequel's coming.
They might make another Matrix series, they might not. If they do, it won't be anytime soon.

*spoilers, but you shouldn't be reading this thread if you don't want them*
My biggest complaint is that they tried to wrap up the entire series in a very short span of time. Think about it. They go from the Matrix, which is an excellent beginning movie, then they jump into Reloaded, which is a pretty good middle movie, but revolutions just really felt like that the storylines in it should have been split into different movies. Personally, I would have done this as a series of movies (like 5 or 6) and handle different aspects of the overall story. Jumping from Neo vs Smith and the siege of Zion in the last two movies just really threw off the entire plot for me. They really could have fleshed out more of the characters if they had even one more movie. I mean, most of the Zion characters were fairly one dimensional, Niobe barely had any sort of depth to her, wiping out the entire fleet in the second movie WITHOUT SHOWING IT was stupid because it doesn't really show anything about Bane, the Marovingian needed waaay more screentime, the ending needed at to wrap up a little better, and it needed a little more than the Oracle and Architect talking. The little girl could have been made an important character, Seraph was way too cool to not do anything with, they should have brought back some of the Marovingian's thugs (like those twins, they ruled), should have spent more time in the Matrix, and should have really had something between the original and reloaded to show a passage of time and stuff.
Then you get into Trinity and Neo's deaths. Trinity needed to go, as did Neo. Sorry, but Trinity's death was far too cheap. Come on, she doesn't die in the first two movies (but comes close several times) and then dies in a ****ty real-world accident? That's almost as lame, but not quite as lame, as the entire original crew of the Nebuchadnezzar dying from getting unplugged. Neo's death and reasons needed to be explained far more clearly. I understood it, but I know that far too many don't. The entire relationship between smith and neo needed to be clarified. They never really got into Smith's powers, never really addressed his character, and never really explained how it was resolved.
The Nebuchadnezzar also didn't have a full crew, and the ships could have been different classes (gunship or something).
You're fooling yourself if you think they're gonna let the Matrix license and story just sit there. They already have a MMORPG in the works (estimated release next year), and I'm willing to bet they start doing more things like the Animatrix. I'd like to see more movies, perhaps following a different crew before Neo or something.
