Sanac crawled toword the town. When he came near a tree, He looked back to she if anyone happened to be watching. No. He ducked behind the tree.
"Dang. That was my favorite Book, too"
Sanac pulled a thick book with a large gapping hole in the from the spot under his cloak where he was "Wounded".
"I was always so good a charades" he said as he began to charge a Flux.
The knight would never have suspected a big globe of darkness to appear from underneath him.

Seeing the Dark globe beneath the knight, Cysma smiled and thrust his lance forward at him. The Flux didn't seem to do much, and the lance blow only pushed his opponent backward.
Knight: Ha! Is that all the strength your group has? The Kaguron Empire has no place for you
With these words, he swung his own spear sideways at the lord, sending him to the ground. Cysma's hopes seemed to be crushed, as the knight was about to step over him, he felt a discarded item touching his leg. Reaching over and picking it up found it to be a different sword, one shaped to pierce heavy armor like that of the knight, the legendary Armorslayer!
Gripping the hilt, he swung it into the knight's feet, cutting through it and into his ankle, giving the prince enough time to get back on his feet and finish off his opponent, stabbing him through the chest, piercing through the breastplate like paper.
Knight: I...was the commander of...a division of Kaguron's army of Earth, the rest is headed this way...
Cysma listened to his last words, then pulled out the weapon, the knight falling forward lifeless. He wiped his brow and sighed with a slight smile, before turning to Ryo, and seeing someone new accompanying him.
Cysma: It's over...wha...who is this?
The lord ran over to the two as he resheathed his sword and lance in their criss-crossed scabbards on his back, beneath his blue-purple cape.
Ryo: A mercenary woman by the name of Ellia. I decided to spare her life if she would follow us.
Cysma: Ah, it is a pleasure to meet you, Ellia. As you see, the Kaguron Empire is closing in on this continent, taking one town at a time. My acquantances and I have decided to put a stop to them somehow...
The prince trailed off as a group of men on horseback rode up to him, in the middle being the marquess he had spoke to earlier.
Marquess Cerna: How did this happen? The Kaguron Empire promised me a peace treaty, and they came here in attempt to destroy us...
Cysma: The empire uses deceitful persuasion to gain their power. Many kingdoms have been lost in ways like what almost happened to yours.
Marquess: I thank you, Lord Cysma. I should have listened to you before...now I understand their true intentions, they cannot go on!
Cysma: That is why I've went away from my kingdom. I have hopes of putting their progress to a halt, but I cannot do it alone...thus, other talented fighters with similar hopes have joined up...
Marquess: How could I repay such a deed as saving us from certain doom?
Cysma: You may warn the neighboring kingdoms of the coming danger, put their arms together to fight back Kaguron's advance.
The Marquess took a bow. "Very well then, you may also have a sum of my fortune to help you. May the blessings of Cerna be upon you."
He took out a large chest and opened it, revealing a pile of gold coins inside.
Cysma: I accept that as well. We will be on our way.
The lord took off to regather his expanding band and head off in another direction...
End of Chapter 1.
The town of Cerna being defended bravely from Kaguron's grip by Cysma and his company, the marquess has agreed to help them present and future to see that they succeed. Perhaps they may even enlist one of their trained knights to him...
Now on the trail to another village called Kothan, they stop between to rest at a ruined fortress, where a powerful magician and his followers lie in wait for an ambush...
Chapter 2: Shadows of Earth
The group finally came upon the abandoned fortress as the sun had set, the travelers weary from the day's walk.
Cysma: We shall rest here for the night. Tomorrow we should reach Kothan. A friend of mine should be there...
Sanac: Are you sure we shall sleep here?
Cysma: Certain. Is something wrong?
Sanac: I feel a strange presence surrounding us...
Cysma: Is that so? If you feel insecure, you may do us a favor by keeping watch through the night.
Sanac: If you wish, milord.
As the band headed into the fortress, a lone Mage darted from behind a bush to another area surrounding the fortress, meeting up with several other mages led by a tall Sage...
Mage: Master Geoth, the heir to Marquess Cerina has settled in the fortress ahead for sleep.
Geoth: Ahh...a perfect time to strike down a prince...is he alone?
Mage: No, master. There is an eastern swordsman, a Sacean nomad on horseback, a lady mercenary, and a shaman accompanying him!
Geoth: Did you say a shaman?
Mage: Yes, master. I don't know if this is of any interest to you, but...his appearance is strikingly resemblant to the legend Canas.
Geoth: The son of Canas, the shaman that traveled with Marquess Pherae scores ago that disbanded the assassins of Black Fang? Incredible, a magician of that heritage would be invaluable among the ranks of Kaguron's Earth army!
Mage: What shall your underlings do then, master?
Geoth: Go to him with a few other of my Mage students and speak to him at once. Kaguron's power of persuasive speech will be enough for him to join us.
Mage: Very well then. What if he refuses?
Geoth: If he does not accept, he will be a hindrance to the empire. Kill him and everyone else at once if so!
Mage: As you desire, master.
Taking a few others with him, the mage slowly approached the front of the fortress, being caught by the eye of the overwatching Shaman...

The mages creeped toward the Shaman. As The Shaman turned his head toward them, they hugged the wall of the fortress. The Shaman turned his head away, but quickly turned it back. He squinted. He then ran toward them. The mages thought he saw them. They were surprised when he ran right past them. The Shaman had not seen them, no. He had seen a figure in the distance. The mages saw a Monk. The Shaman ran up to him.
"Suicul?"
"Sanac?"
They started talking. Sometime later, they both walked toward the fortress.
