Final Fantasies
I never really played all the Final Fantasies before FF7, so I was hoping some of you could give me a short summary of each one and the characters and the bad guys. I know its a lot, but Ive always been wondering if I should get one. My friend has FF6 and is selling it for like 10 bucks and Im thinking to buy it or not. Thanks for anyone who will help me on this.

I can give you the first FF game right off the bat, in case you're up to some old school gamin'.
FF1:
The Good: Fighter, Black Belt, Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage, Thief
The Bad: The four fiends, Garland
The Ugly: It's for the NES. If graphics and sound are your key selling points, you'll hate the game. It's also reasonably difficult.

- You choose your party from the above before the game begins, any combination and permutation of those six characters, including multiples of the same character. You always have the same four guys in your party.</font>
- There is no characterization in this game, and the plot is really thin until the very end (when you beat the game).</font>
- The magic system is different than FF7. There are seven spell levels and seven MP meters. You can cast at most nine per level, usually for low-level spells, and MP recovery on the fly is practically non-existent</font>

FF1 is stupid now. I remember I loved it when I was a youngun but after playing it again on FFOrigins I can't stand it.
FF2 is better but you can totally cheat on the battle system and have max HP after a few hours of play. Still nothing cool.
FF3 was never released in the U.S. but there is a translated ROM you can download somewhere on the net. This game is the first good FF.
FF4 is my favorite, so play it.
FF5 is like the older ones but has a kickass job system.
FF6 is awesome, so play it.
FF8 sucks.
FF9 is more oldschool, but it is better that way and it is a lot of fun. My second favorite.
FF10 sucks.
