Actully, you're supposed to get Quina after Zidane, Vivi, and Dagger escape from Alexandria castle, leaving Steiner, Freya, and Beatrix behind but He/she is alot of help if you get Him/Her before Burmecia. Still, S/he isn't optional.

I never used Quina. I don't like Blue Mages. You can do without her.

Upcoming improvements, new template and music! So what are you waiting for? Go post in the GTA Forum now!

^Yeah, Quina's Offense is pretty sucky (I'm in disc 3 and it doesn't even do 900 damage yet) and it's pretty hard to make him/her eat the monsters, seeing as most of the time, s/he just says "I no can eat until weaker". But once you finally get him/her to eat them, Vanish is pretty useful.

S/he is weak until you catch 99 frogs. Then S/he pulls off 9999 damage. (I had another block in which I beat all of the optional bosses except for Ozma) Anyway, I highly doubt you'll need much help on FF9, the whole game's easy. I mean, the only bosses that are hard are that boss at the end of the Burmecian cave, Ozma, and any of the optional bosses at a low level, like 40. By the way, you'll find Necron to be pathetically easy at the end of the game.
