Magus is much cooler than Sephiroth ever thought of being. Plus he is a vampire looking dude with a scythe, what is better than that.

Sephiroth might get Magus before Magus disarms his head with his scythe, but Sephiroth does have Sin Harvest and pale horse (I hate it when he does it on Cloud, he has Omnislash) But Magus does have Dark Matter and other powerful spells.

They're both pretty good, they both are cool, but who wins depends on who acts faster.

How will magus do in 3D, hmmm...Maybe he'll float around the stage, fire off spells, and eventually come down to swing his scythe.

As far as HP goes, Sephiroth has Magus beat. Probably with Max stats too. But Dark Matter is supposed to be the ultimate Dark Magic attack. Magus probably couldn't win. Black Hole doesn't work on bosses that I know of, and even little things don't always get sucked in.
But whatever, Magus is MUCH cooler. He kicks ass! And Crono too! FF is a great series, but compared to Chrono Trigger, it ain't half as cool. At the very least, everyone HAS to admit the CT people are much cooler as characters. Crono rules man.
