RPG of the Week 7/4: The Legend of Zelda

There might be some arguments about whether Zelda is an RPG or not. I think it is, though my RPG requiements are pretty low.

1. Is it an overhead game? If yes, it's an RPG. If no, go on.

2. Does it have a turn based or active battle system? If yes, it's an RPG. If no, go on.

3. Is it made by Square Enix? If yes, it's an RPG. If no, it's not.

The problem with that, of course, is that games like Rad Racer are now RPGs, and Games like Phantasy Star Online aren't. Either way, Zelda is officially an RPG in my standards, so it's the RPG of the Week.

-A Genius (And it really is a good game. I don't think anyone that's reviewed it has ever given it a score below a 7. Unless they're working on a scale of 5.)

I know. If you read the paragraph below it...

-A Genius (And I guess Ultima IX isn't an RPG.)

^Umm, no. Isn't MGS a FPS? And SMS definitely doesn't fit the topology.

Then MGS may be. I think you're making my points too broad for SMS though. If I know Mario games, it's a normal adventure/platformer. Little plot enhancement, and the world isn't given to you.

If you took my standards seriously, you are an idiot.

See my previous quote about reading what I said under the standards.
