Here's a Kirby fanfic idea I've had for ages and developed upon, but never had the chance to get it down on paper. It was initially built upon an idea for a deep Kirby RPG as one thought of as an idea long ago, and I came up with one with a bunch of original characters. Without further ado...let me begin the story...

Prologue: Shadow of Despair
An ominous sky loomed over a distant world, engulfing it in darkness, save for an occasional crack of lightning that briefly lit things up. Rain poured down thick and hard, blown about by record-shattering winds.
The sky of this planet seemed intraversable to all planes of earth, but despite the extreme conditions, one shining yellow object soared across it fearlessly, seeming to ignore the surrounding danger. A tall and slim figure knelt atop it, unmoved by the storm as its vehicle was and staring directly ahead.
Eventually an enourmous figure came into view into the distance, approached by the lone flyer at a frightening speed, the rider's eyes narrowing with determination.
At last the flying object approached the sky deck of the monstrosity, the driver leaping off of it as it flew across and crashing into a wall, attracting the attention of patrolling guards.
"Who do you think you are? Take him out, men!" A short, ball-like figure covered with a knight's helmet shouted, and three creatures of the same size, each weilding a mace as big as them, cornered the intruder on the deck, despite how it towered over them.
Without saying anything, the tall being pulled a long staff with a red jewel at the tip out from beneath its white robe and struck its adversaries one at a time across their "heads", standing still as they fell over dead.
"Oh...no." The helmeted being took a few steps back from the approaching intruder and dashing off in its opposite direction.
The being that boldly made its way onto the metallic monstrosity was a white human of nearly six feet in stature with combed down white hair, wearing a long white robe, draping down a few inches below the knees, open at the center to reveal a blueish tunic beneath. The man darted his blue eyes around briefly and took off into an doorway, leading down a flight of stairs into the mechanical stronghold.
He followed the stairs down to the interior across a narrow catwalk spanning over the length of the enourmous room, but he had only taken a few steps before a large mechanical being crashed down on the other side. He readied his staff and held it straight out in front of him before it emitted three bursts of pink flaming spheres, which only bounced off the mech's armor. It retaliated by extending its short claw-like hand and firing out several of its own bursts of energy.
The staff-wielder stood firm and swung his staff sideways, batting the projectiles away from him and deflecting them back to the shooter.
The shots blown back at the mech threw it on its back, making it emit an explosive out of its claw cannon, which bounced off the ceiling and landed on the center of the catwalk between the two before doing what explosives do best.
The explosion blew the walkway in two, throwing off the fighters it just held down below. The robed man fell down into the darkness, losing sight of the mechanical crustacean and landing on a circular platform suspended at the bottom of the airbourne base. But he was not the only one there, even though his adversary must have plummeted out of the sky.
"Well, it is quite a surprise to see Chenazo Kurai once more! Impressive that you survived." Hearing this voice, He looked up to see the speaker, a metallic armored head-to-toe being nearly six and a half feet standing before him. The robed man Chenazo took to his feet and stood back at the other side of the platform, holding his staff behind him in a battle stance.
"Cysma! Why do you side with this? The empire will only do harm to the universe." Chenazo said firmly, glaring to the armored figure. "I sense that they are being manipulated by some other force, you must not obey them!"
"Recovering the lost Shirona stones will do a great favor for all. All five have been located at this planet." The metallic creature replied.
"Lies! The emporer will use them for his own wicked desires, if not the desires of what is pulling his strings!" Chenazo said bitterly, swinging his staff in front of him.
"Believing that, you will only interfere with our hopes. Begone!" Cysma held out a circular cannon fitted around his left arm and shot out a green burst of energy at his adversary, which was deflected back at him, causing the armored warrior to reel back a few steps.
Chenazo saw this and charged forward with his staff, only to me met by an electric chain that lashed out and wrapped around his body, receiving a sharp jolt of its power. "Nice try." Cysma said quietly, holding the other end as the electric surge traveled through Chenazo's body, causing him to scream out in agony and drop his staff.
At last Cysma let go, and his enemy's body fell limp onto the hard metal platform. "It didn't have to be like this..." The metallic figure kicked the dropped staff off the platform and out of the sky.

I would also appreciate reviews and comments, too.

Chapter 01: Veil of Desolation
A pleasant sleep was interrupted by a rude alarm, buzzing loudly. The sleeper hit it to turn it off and hop out of bed.
The eight-inch tall Kirby stretched his flaps for arms in a loud yawn, looking over to the clock to see his destined awakening time, though things didn't seem right.
He looked out the window to see everything quite dark, an enourmous black cloud loomed overheard, blocking a view of the sky. Curious to see what it was, he dashed out the door of his humble dome-shaped abode to get a better look.
It was not long before a familiar figure ran up to him, similar in shape, but red and yellow in color, known as Kirby's friend Waddle Dee.
"Have you heard the news, Kirby?" He said, panting for breath after running so quickly. "That huge cloud overhead has been covering the entire world since last midnight! It has been reported that it is raining up there, but apparently not down here!" Waddle Dee exclaimed as Kirby listened silently. "I'm going to the Rainbow Resort meteorologists and see what's going on!" He turned around and took off in the opposite direction, hearing also different footsteps behind him as Kirby followed.
Waddle Dee turned back around to face his friend. "Oh, you want to come, too?" Kirby nodded cheerfully. "Ah, great!" Waddle turned back around and began to walk in his original direction, but had only gone a few paces before a long object fell from the sky and into the ground, inches in front of him.
The red one fell back in surprise, then got back up to see what it was with Kirby, only to have his view blocked by a figure similar to him. "Found something, punk? I believe it's ours now!" Waddle Dee looked up to see the speaker in front of him, similar to him, but with a single, large eye on its face, Waddle Doo.
Dee stepped back and held out his "hand", shaking it. "What makes you think it's yours, huh?"
Waddle Doo crossed his arms and laughed, two other Waddle Dees with menacing eyes standing beside him. "Green Greens must submit to us, the Waddle gang, or they're punished if they don't!"
The good Waddle Dee produced a red and white parasol and swung it around him. "I don't think so! You can't boss us around!" He thrusted the umbrella forward at Waddle Doo threateningly.
"So you want to fight, huh?" Waddle Doo's cohorts walked up to both sides of Waddle Dee as Kirby ran up to them. "Get'm boys!"
The unarmed Dees began to hammer at the one with the Parasol while he swung it back at them. Kirby stood just outside of the brawl and braced himself. "Now, Kirby!" Waddle Dee shouted. Doing so, the pink one opened his mouth and inhaled deeply, causing everything in front of him to be blown in like a vacuum. The evil Dees were soon pulled into his mouth. Kirby closed it and turned to Waddle Doo.
"Oh, no! Please, don't!" Doo turned around and ran off as Kirby spit out his friends at him, causing the three to collide and be blown into the air and land at an unseen spot far away.
Waddle Dee sighed with relief as Kirby walked up to the fallen object. "Thanks. That was close!" Kirby yanked out the long staff and held it in his hands, standing still as his surroundings faded from him and he heard an umfamiliar voice in his mind.
"So, you are the one whose hands my staff has fallen into. With it I can communicate to you, keep it at your side, as there are very important matters you must help with." The voice said, then continued. "A quintette of vital artifacts have fallen onto your planet, which is now covered by a dark cloud. This is from an evil empire that seeks them as well, but will use them for her own wicked purposes. These relics must not fall into their hands! Since I am unable to recover them at the time, you must carry on my work, with my help. I am able to detect what you seek as long as this staff is with you, and I shall tell you where you must go. Accept my request, and you will save your planet and many others as well from despair. Please accept this quest...it is the fate of the universe..." The voice faded out of his head as he heard one more familiar with his own ears.
