The Haunted House
This oughtta be interesting for all of you thrill-seekers out there.
The Challenge: You will be left on the mansion grounds. Escape is impossible, as the walls and gates are inpenetrable, and a rather nasty thing happens to those who attempt to jump or fly out. Not that many of you would attempt to do so. Means of escape must be found somewhere around the house, and will be presented to you when the right moment arrives. In the meantime, simply try to stay alive.
The mansion is huge. Think Bill Gate's house. Think bigger. Bigger. A bit more...That's it. It's bigger than that. Oddly enough, it doesn't appear quite this way from the outside. There are many hundreds of rooms in total, many of which are not fixed. These rooms may change themselves around as they wish, as if they have minds of their own. Many traps and puzzles await you, and may not be visible at first. These include disappearing floors, reversal of rooms, moving walls, etc.
Of course, no haunted house can be complete without stuff to haunt it. And let's get to the point: these ghouls don't like you. They'll be a constant menace in your trek through the maze-like mansion, and shouldn't be taken lightly. These aren't your usual Luigi's Mansion say-boo-and-run types, requiring more than just holy water and a cross to stop. All can at least prove a hindrance to you, most having good magical abilities, strength, or the element of surprise. Daylight is no protection, the will of the house preventing even monsters vulnerable to it from being harmed. Almost all of these creatures can be hurt physically rather than weapons passing through them, but there are a few exceptions to that rule of course. Most monsters will be no match for you, but some are particularly nasty. Be on guard.
Remember, the dead don't die permenantly. Chances are that they will reincarnate after awhile. Stay on guard.
It doesn't all have to be serious, though. There are three rooms, the kitchen, dining room, and game room which remain untouched by the evils of the house. In the kitchen, you can find an endless supply of pizza in the fridge, although there is no microwave to cook it in. In the dining room, you can find menus on the table. Sit down, and a waiter will serve you. The house's chefs will serve you anytime, day or night; they don't have much else to do because they are a bit on the zombiesque side themselves. They are the only monsters that will appear in these rooms. As for the game room, inside you will find pinball machines, a pool table, some reading material, a few chairs, and a not-so-mini-bar stocked with the finest of drinks. A wine cellar may be found in the basement of the complex. Unfortuneately, this area is even more haunted than the other rooms, and maybe not worth going for.
Only one person may leave at a time, so groups that enter will be undoubtedly split apart. Do not follow them, unless you wish for a premature death. Although heavily ridden with stereotypes, this house is not to be taken lighly.

Jay slowly walks toward the house, a nervous grin on his face; the undead gave him the creeps. His sword hand twitches, as if posessed, at the faintest flicker of any shadow. Slowly, he opens the front gate, it creaking painfully, requiring a dosage of WD-40. It slams shut immediately upon his entry. Gulping involuntarily, he takes another step.
He jumps suddenly at an odd noise, like someone clearing his throat, eminating eerily from the darkness underneath a dead tree. His hand, still convulsing happily, grips the handle of his sword warily.
"Finally got here, eh? It took you forever!"
Jay grins, relaxing. Mumbo steps dramatically from the shadows. His form this time is nothing special: kind of like a usual anime antagonist look. A large, ugly pistol rests in his holster at his side, but Jay knows that he is much more heavily armed.
"Thought I'd make an appearance," Jay replies in a mock of a sneer. He pauses for a moment, then adds "You think anyone will show up?"
"I dunno," is the firm answer. "We'll have to wait and see."
---
Yeah, I'll start working on this again. Just post away. Remember, I can't take care of roleplaying all the time; invent challenges for yourself if you wish.

Inferno and Flair approached the front door of the mansion with their swords ready.
Inferno: you know it's not too late to back out.
Flair: I'm staying with you Inferno, besides, I think this will be fun.
Inferno: and you can try out those new spells
Inferno opened the door and the couple entered the dark mansion. they mooved to the middle of the room and the door slammed behind them which made Flair jump.

*Matt walked through a dark forest. Eventually, he noticed the mansion. Deciding he could see if he could stay the nigh there, he walked throug hthe gate and past the fountain. He came up to the huge doors and slowly opened the door. By then, the others had left the foyer, so the mansion appeared deserted to him.*
"I wonder if someone actually lives here..."
*He walks in, the huge door slamming shut behind him. He shurgged it off immediatly and contineud into the haunted mansion...*

Mumbo begins to open his mouth, to warn the necromancer, but Jay silences him, grinning widely with eyes that blurted out "let him have his fun". Mumbo's mouth abruptly closes, the words he was to use still echoing in his head.
It won't be that easy, no matter how cheap you're attempting to make this. No matter your power over the undead, the houses inhabitants only bow to one entity - the house itself. It has far more will over them than you have, and will only follow It's orders. And It wants you dead. Sorry.
The words trickle away, dying off after only a few seconds before fading away into Mumbo's subconcious. He heads into the mansion, door closing loudly, leaving Jay to greet the new arrivals.

No matter how great thy power over the undead be, the house's is far greater. Its will controls them, ensnares them, bends them to Its liking. Its orders are absolute. The beings existing in the mansion are for Its use alone.
You may bring undead in from other areas, but those in the house's posession are out of your reach, no matter the excuses you give.

GOD or NOT, the mansion has far more power over them than you have. They exist only to serve it. You can't just waltz in and expect them all to follow you, whether or not your general power over the undead is greater. They have chosen a ruler. It isn't you. Now STOP making petty excuses in your favor and SIDDOWN.
Sorry 'bout this, folks. If you're gonna apply, everything starts in a week.

Sido stepped forward to the gates. He lit a cigarette and grined."All right"He said happily.Jester,Blade,Tunneler,Pinhead,Six-Shooter and Torch were at his side. The gates closed suddenly as the group went in.He looked around. It's all screwed up he thought. He stepped inside.
He noticed the usual oh-crap-alot-of-people-got-killed-here look.He laughed."Well boys"He said"It's gonna be a looong evening".

Drizzt saw the mansion looming up ahead. His ranger senses quickly determined that several had already entered. His extraplanar panther companion,Guenhwyvar, growled.Drizzt nodded knowingly, understanding her insight that the mansion was unnatural and possibly dangerous.
"I do not like it either,Guen, but it is the only shelter we have seen for miles, and I sense a storm coming on.Besides,if it is dangerous,we have a duty to help the others who have already gone in.The two stepped up to the gates, which creaked open, pushed by some unseen hand.they stepped inside, and Drizzt drew forth his scimitars.Defender flared blue.Enemies were about. They were everywhere.A grin spread over the drow's face. This would be a challenge.

occ:i didnt know there was another Necromancer on the board!the ground around the mansion shook,as a pillar of flame erupted from the ground.out of it stepped a being wearing a cloak and hood of pure darkness.under the cloak was nothing but drakness and 2 glowing red eyes.Batok sensed a power that rivaled even his own,and so stepped into the mansion. He felt that the house glared at him,so he pointed at a wall, causing it to erupt in fire.the house seemed to screech as the fire engulfed the entrance hall.Batok roared with laughter before leaving the Entrance hall.He entered a hallway, then stopped.he quickly summoned a skeleton warrior, and sent it down the hallway.it took a few steps before a large spike sprang from the wall, impaling it.As Batok passed the deceased skeleton,he absorbed what was left of its soul.
