So What've You Finished?

#1

Post by Katyrna » Sun Sep 11, 2005 3:51 pm

I figured it'd be cool to hear about all the RPGs that people have actually finished. Feel free to post as you complete them. So how 'bout it?

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X
The Legend of Dragoon
Mega Man Legends
.hack//Infection
.hack//Mutation
Chrono Cross
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Xenogears
Xenosaga: Episode 1 (Today!)
(Oops, I forgot Radical Dreamers!)

Yes, I have finally finished Xenosaga, which I got probably almost three years ago now! It's such a relief... You know, it's gotta be the first RPG I've completed during the school year. I'm going to have to play Episode 2 now, even with all the reviews saying how sub-par it was in comparison to the first. And there are so many older games for me to finish now...

EDIT: Man, you people are boring! Hasn't anyone finished an RPG? I know it's not the most imaginative of topics, but I'm surprised no one's been bored enough to post yet. *Nudge nudge* C'mon, so what've ya played?

1. I'm a busy person.
2. I had to check if the topic was already made. Bumping isn't popular.

The rpg's I've actually finished-

Nintendo 64-
Paper Mario
Quest 64
Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

GameCube-
Tales Of Symphonia
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time: Master Quest

Game Boy Advance-
Golden Sun
Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Sonic Battle(it's a partial rpg, but unless you mean getting everything...then I'm missing some cards)
Legend Of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Game Boy(etc.)-
Pokemon Red
Pokemon Blue
Pokemon Gold
Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX

Sega Genesis-
Shining Force: Legacy Of Great Intention
Shining Force 2(can't remember name completely)

PlayStation 1&2
None so far, but that's because I'm lazy...
What's the matter, scared?

The only LoZ that could be considered an RPG was Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. And Sonic Battle wasn't even close. I mean, if collecting counts, you may as well call Super Mario 64 an RPG.

Golden Sun
Mega Man Battle Network 1, 2, and 3
Paper Mario 1 and 2
Tales of Symphonia
Chrono Trigger
Pokemon Red + Blue
Breath of Fire 2

As you can see, I stay away from the the typical battle styled RPGs, with exceptions for the good plot of BoF 2 and the rather short dungeons and great graphics of Golden Sun.

I keep a list of all the games I've ever completed, because I'm that sort of guy. I'll post the RPGs here, in the spirit of the thread.

Dragon Warrior
Final Fantasy

Pokemon Blue
Pokemon Yellow

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
Golden Sun
Golden Sun 2
Megaman Battle Network
Megaman Battle Network 2
Dragon Warrior 1 & 2

Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Lufia I
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
Tales of Phantasia
Earthbound
Illusion of Gaia (aka Illusion of Time)
Soul Blazer
Super Mario RPG (my first ^.^)
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Breath of Fire
Alcahest (fan-translated)
Secret of Evermore
Terranigma
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
Monstania (fan-translated, more a simplified turn-based strategy, though)

Quest 64 (it's not that bad, that said, it is a bad game)
Legend of Zelda: OoT
Paper Mario

Wildcard (yes, I'm including a game that I made with RPG Maker 2000; still, I consider it a comprehensive RPG experience)
Neoquest II (the most pathetic waste of time I've ever recorded)
Diablo

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Megaman Legends
Megaman Legends 2
Alundra
Breath of Fire IV
Threads of Fate
Chrono Cross

I've outstanding warrents for Star Ocean II and Septerra Core; I never finished them despite being close to the end, but alas, I lost their save files. There's also World of Warcraft; I got a Paladin up to level 43, then lost interest.

Included in the almost-sure-it's-not-an-RPG list are FF:Tactics, Castlevania II, Front Mission, EVO: Search for Eden, Deux Ex, Shining Force, Misadventures of Tron Bonne, River City Ransom, Harvest Moon, and Azure Dreams.

I used to style myself as an RPG gamer, and thus scoured the world for RPGs to play. Lately, though, I can't find the time to play lengthy games. Right now shumps are usually on the bill if I get any time.

Pokemon games. I think that is it for something you could consider RPG. I don't play that many roleplaying games.

Wow, I gave up on this topic a long time ago. Thanks to all who posted! I haven't finished anything since then, but I'm working on Xenosaga Episode II. Oh, and don't worry if you didn't get everything--I'm not sure if I've ever done that. =]

EDIT: Hah, I just thought of something else. If you feel like it, please tell us which games you recommend or, likewise, don't. I know there was a time when I was searching hard for good RPGs, but I'm busy enough right now with what I've got. ^-^
