Graphics: SSBM
SSB: 78%
SSBM: 95%
Play Control: SSB
SSB: 87%
SSBM: 85%
Game Play: SSBM
SSB: 90%
SSBM: 94%
Sound: No apparent winner
SSB: 82%
SSBM: 82%
Overall: SSBM
SSB: 84.25%
SSBM: 89%

Graphics:
These would probably be equal if Donkey Kong didn't look so deformed in SSB.

Play Control:
Although I like using the C-stick for smash attacks in multiplayer mode, for some reason grabbing with Z in SSBM just inconvenient and unfomfortable.

Game play:
It's all about stages and modes. The only part of the gameplay that SSB would have the upper hand is that some of the better stages should have been ported.

Sound:
Although discs are of higher quality sound than cartridges, most of the tunes remain the same. SSBM would have the upper hand if weren't for that funky tune that played in SSB when you looked at character bios and Vs. Scores.

Overall:
Although I'd rather play Street Fighter 2, SSB and SSBM are both good games and innovative twists on the fighting genre. SSBM's upper hand can simply be described in one word: More. There's more of everything in here.
