In this world, a number of powerful magical factions exist, each guarding awesome secrets, artifacts and powers. You play a former member who has stolen such an item, secret or spell. This game isn't serious. In fact, it's pretty much going to be a light hearted swashbuckling game (albeit with deadly combat), mixed with magic and elements of high fantasy, set in a ridiculously magical setting.

Stolen Magic: A powerful magic of any power level. Too powerful and you probably can't control it. If you want I can make up what it does and not tell you, basically making it a secret to you. It can be a magical artifact, focus or it can be some sort of ultra spell, or it can just be a secret you shouldn't know.

-Intelligence: Determines how skilled you are and how quickly you learn skills. Assists in Lore, Magic and occassionally Proffession.
-Perception: How aware of your surroundings you are. Assists in survival, Athletics, War and Infiltration.
-Wits: Determines your ability to fight and act in stressful situations and assists at controlling and resisting magic.
-Charisma: Determines all uses of Communication and some of profession.
-Spirit: The strength of the soul. Determines how much mana can be produced.

Abilities: Abilities rank from 0-10. 10 being a master, 5 being skilled, 1 being an apprentice. You get 5 x Int.

-Communication: Any form of communication from speaking, preeching, arguing, diplomacy, intimidating or anything else is determined through this ability.
-Infiltration: Stealth, thieving and similiar skills are done through this ability.
-Lore: Pick any area of knowledge (make it up) and whenever it's important to know if you know something, this skill will determine whether you do. You can have multiple areas of Lore.
-Magic: Anything related to magic is done through this ability.
-Profession: Pick any job in an older society. This is your skill at all abilities related to it and making money at it.
-Survival: Anything related to animals or nature (particually surviving it) is determined by this skill.
-War: Combat Actions is determined through this skill.
Magic

There are three types of Magic, which are enchanting, Sorcery and spellcasting. You pick two types, one as your primary and two as your secondary.
Enchanting allows you to create magical items. There are three different types of focuses.
A trinket is a minor magical object. It is limited in either power or use. Potions and most minor accessories are trinkets. They typically enhance you in some way. Artifacts are special items with major powers of their own. They require enchanting as a primary. Focus is a sorcery item. It allows you to store, amplify, nullify or weaken an
Spell casting are simple learned spells, which can do basically anything you want them too. If its your primary, you know Int + Magic/2 spells. If its your secondary, you know Int + Magic/4. Round all half fractions up, anything else round down.
Sorcery is the art of shaping energy to do your bidding. If you choose sorcery, you have a limited number of things you can do and a limited number of types of things you can do with it. All sorcery is dependant on combining one art with one technique to produce an effect. For example, if you have detect and you also have mana, you can use your magic to detect any spells being castl, any magic in an item, whether anyone of significant magical power is near. If you have control and fire, you can shape, move, make fire bigger or smaller, contain it. You can't put it out, and you can create it out of nothing however, unless you also have those.
Choose one Arts from the following list if Sorcery is your secondary type and three if its your primary.
The five Arts

Create: The art of creating stuff out of nothing. Combine it with a form to figure out what you can create.
Detect: Detecting the presence of stuff. Combine it with a form to figure out what you can detect.
Destroy: Destroying stuff that's already there. Combine it with a form to figure out what you can destroy.
Control: Controlling the actions, movement of a form. For example you can control a person's body against their will, move or shape fires, or take control of a spell by controlling the mana.
Transform: Transforming one or more properties of something. Combine it with a form to figure out what you can transform. For example, Transform Earth can make rock into something else such as mud or flesh.
Choose three Forms from the following list if Sorcery is your secondary and six if its your primary.
Body: Allows you to affect fellow humans and other sentient races.
Mind: Allows you to magically affect the minds of creatures.
Mana: Allows you to directly affect Mana. Meaning you can make it appear as an Aura, block, weaken or strengthen your own or other people's mana and make direct energy attacks and defenses.
Animal: Allows you to affect animals.
Plant: Allows you to affect plants and trees. (wee)
Image: You can affect (or create) Illusions and the five senses.
Fire: You can affect the element of fire.
Water: You can affect the element of water, as well as Ice.
Air: You can affect the air and the weather (such as lightning)
Earth: You can affect the ground and natural environments except for those that fall under another element.

Combat is a do whatever you want to do, as long as you can do it in a few seconds sort of thing. Be cinematic and dramatic and I'll make it more likely to succeed. I want this to be a sort of swashbuckling light hearted action sort of game, mixed in with high fantasy.

- Lightning - Fires out a lightning bolt toward target. Somewhat inaccurate, but difficult to dodge initial attack.
- Cascade - Creates water and strikes down on target with it.
- Javelin - Creates a spear made of ice and throws it.
- Restore - Heals HP to the target.

Bio: As a young man, Soto quickly fell in love with the Jodo, daughter of Nichiren, the leader of a powerful magical faction order, one that boasted great power and authority over those who it could control, diplomats, profiteers, etc. Disgusted with the notion that such a common man would even attempt to steal his daughter away, Nichiren quickly refused any union and forbid them from ever seeing each other again. However, as most lovers will, they still went on in their forbidden love, and planned to run away together. Angry that his own daughter would betray his wishes, before Jodo left to join Soto, he killed her, taking a knife to her heart so Soto could never have it for himself. Grief-stricken, Soto turned to spiritualism and tires to lose himself into his faith, as an escape from having to deal with the fact he could not save his lover from such a horrible demise. Finally, with his spiritual powers fluxing and his resolve hardened, if he couldn’t save his love, he would at least take vengeance upon the one who took her away from him, vowing to ruin Nichiren and the magical faction by stealing their most prized possession, and then using it against them to force the entire faction to fold up, leaving the man who killed his bride penniless and powerless.
Stolen Magic: A powerful and mysterious small mirror attached to a ju (rosary). The mirror has a strange foreign, almost otherworldly character on its glass surface and shines with an unnatural glow. It is said to be able to take powerful enemy magic energies into its own glossy body and transfer that knowledge of the mystic arts into one worthy of holding it. The ju itself is rumored to be a powerful seal from keeping the true body of the mirror to materialize . . .

Only lasts for as long as user keeps meditating, and as long as in trance, cannot take any other action.

Chi: Focus user’s Chi to greatly increase one stat of choice, the stat to be improved must be chosen when the user starts focusing. Once focus is broken and an action is taken, stat increase is immediately stopped.

On the back, between the shoulder blades, of his Kosode is a single large red lotus blossom, to signify the loss in his life and the vengeance he was sworn to take. A Kukuri-bakama, Obi, and Kyahan in the same shades of silverish grey as the Kosode itself, along with the Rakusu of his spiritual master, given to him before leaving the monostary where he trained to be a spiritual monk.
Of course, Soto has his Shakujo, his spiritual staff, holding six rings to signify the realms of existence on the wheel of life (Humans, Animals, Hell, Hungry ghosts, Gods, and Jealous gods), and of course his Gasa, his traveler’s hat.
