Yeah, Cloud is sort of a... um, spokesperson? I don't know, whenever Sqeenix wants to generate free hype, they just drop his name.

FF Mascot = Black Mage. If Cloud were their mascot, I'd have to axe them. -CSM

Moogles, imo, are the current ones. Black Mage was their first, and he represents that you don't need a sword to be cool...just a knife and attack magic. Then there's the black cloak, which is always a plus.

The chocobo was the first. Black Mage is an iconic character, but hardly streches across every single FF game to date (and even to some non-FF games).

When I think Final Fantasy in general, I think chocobo. But I can see why a lot of people would think Cloud was the official mascot.
