It is not strictly a medieval series anymore. Take FF7/FF8/FFX/X-2 they are not medieval and they are in my mind better than most of the others

Except those are the bad ones in my mind. FFI was medieval. So was FFII-V. VI was somewhat of a late 19th Century feel, but it still had its Fantasy elements. And IX is the best of the post-VI FFs excluding Tactics.

And I hated X-2.

As the original was medieval, that's what the series was supposed to be. -CSM

what we sould do is start up a petition to get Square-Enix to get back to work on Chrono Break! they really need to stop making final fantasy for a while and work on their other franchises for a while like Dragon-Quest and the Chrono series. we have advent children and we're about to get XII, III for DS and Dirge of Cerberus, so to square I say TAKE A BREAK FROM FINAL FANTASY FOR A WHILE!!!!!
beware the power of Bahamut\'s eldest son.

Ye~ah. Telling Square to lay off Final Fantasy's like telling a rabbit to stop crapping; ain't gonna happen.
Square's gotta make things people like so their wallets are full and the people are slaked, rabbit's gotta crap because holding too much in leads to colon cancer.

I think Parrakarry said something back awhile ago that people will still buy these games. I know because I have to deal with FFVII fanboys on a regular basis. I am the administrator on the Final Fantasy Wiki at Wikia, and I basically wrote almost every FFIV and FFVI article there. Most of the people who join are FFVII fanboys who can't spell. So this goes to show you that people will buy these games, and Square will continue to make crappy FFVII and FFX spinnoffs until the world explodes, and not revive Chrono Break. You don't like it, I don't like it, but we might as well accept it. -CSM

Do you really want them to revive Chrono Break? I mean if they did make it and it was fantastic, everyone in the world loved it and it sold millions, wouldn't Square just do the same thing and beat it to death with spinoffs and more sequels?

^Nomura isn't involved in the Chrono series. He's screwing up Final Fantasy by himself. -CSM

'Least you don't have to deal with fat chick fangirls who buy the game just because the main character's cute. Think of how game store employees feel.

^I haven't seen fangirls except in photos where they dress up as their favorite character and fail miserably. I don't know where to find them, but I have seen them online, calling Nomura characters "Hawt." If I were female, I certainly wouldn't want to go out with a prettyboy. -CSM

...I would. They're all over where I live. I used to be in an anime club run by fagpipes I thought were my friends. Lots of fangirls in there.

Incorrect. Final Fantasy 9, despite those who think it didn't do much for the series, was in fact my favorite and was much better than 8, 10, and 10-2. 7 was good, hitting a lot of good points, but not my favorite, thats for certain. Heck, the stories for 6 and 4 are better than 7's, to a degree. Anyway, take a look at the first few and then 9, then compare them to 8 and 10. (Shudders) That right there proves that the first six and 9 are the better ones. 7 gets an honorable mention. In translation towards that rant, my opinion says the medieval games are better. Of course, you did say most, which can be translated multiple ways. Sorry for minorly flaming you.(Excuse the rant)

By the way, XIII looks scary. Lets hope it and XII can put the series back on track. (Tet-suck-ya Nomura will probably screw 'em up, though. and one last thought on the argument: FF7 fanboys/fangirls suck. I guarantee that I know too many, and they bother me with their 'Compelin argments abt 7s awsomnes'. Boo, fanboys, boo.)

XII was done by the Tactics team, and barring the main hero's looks it shouldn't be bad. -CSM

^It got a perfect 40 out of 40 from one of, if not the leading, game magazine in Japan (whose name escapes me).

It bodes well.

Sadly, I think I'll agree. But I really hope not. If all else fail, Versus XIII has the potential to be truly awesome! I mean, the Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts teams working together? *blissful sigh*

Simply put, I despise FF7, though I think it's a good game.

I got to read the review of this again, but anyway, I like Midievil games, but not for every single game. Variety is the spice of life, and is why I loved FF8, since it's a new style for me to play.(note that I barely played any of FF7, but its style is a different battle system than 8, and it was also my first introduction to that exact style(7))

As long as FF7 doesn't get another spinoff/sequel, I'll be fine. Seriously, it's dead now, think of something else!(though Sephiroth rocks)
What's the matter, scared?

^^And why exactly are we shooting ourselves in the head? Honestly, whatever gripes you've got over Advent, you have to admit the Kingdom team at least did a good job! --Even if you don't like Kingdom Hearts. =P I think it's got plenty of potential.

^^I liked KH. However, I'd rather have the Sakaguchi/Amano team or the Tactics team making mainstream games because frankly, they're better. -CSM
