Seems to be completely unused thus far. I tested it a bit, and it looks like a nice added feature.
To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

Ditto. So, it was, like, "you got your starter pack full of nothing, you still ain't happy?" and I was, like, screw you, PHP code.

What do the cards do for you, anyway?
Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users?

I wish there were some FFVI and CT cards. I ought to try it out once I get enough money. -CSM

It's much better than Quad Mist

I can only assume that it allows you to play Triple Triad with other people. If you didn't know, it's the side-game in Final Fantasy VIII, where you can challenge random NPCs to the game and win their cards.

I'd be cool if you could trade in cards for perks, like a faerie wish or something.

Anyone who wants to create cards can.

You can trade cards with others, and you can also fight against either the computer or people. The cards have numbers on them, and the numbers determine strength.
