Using two double-light potions and still having to run away.

Given that the next monster down in difficulty is the Wolf, which I was beating up as a level 0 with just a dagger and boots, it is obvious there needs to be more in-between there.

Therefore:

HP: 70
MP: 10

DEF: 35
EVA: 15
VIT: 15

The exp that you get from a battle seems largly affected by how much damage you take and how long the battle lasts. In short, if you're not getting enough out of your fights, try letting the monster get in a few hits before you finish it off. The higher level monsters I've been fighting give me 32exp if I don't take any damage, but up to 200exp if I'm forced to use an item. Big difference.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

In a real-world perspective, it's about right- you learn more from a harder fight. But in the game, gaining more exp when you're more injured doesn't make as much sense- if it was more munny for a harder time it would, but accelerating your experience gain instead means that you'll have less munny than you would want to if you level up quickly by having long, hard fights, whereas someone who has ludicrously many short fights will have a lot more munny, but possibly be totally unable to use it.

The variation based on hardship can still be used, but the range needs to be a LOT smaller than that, if it is. As it stands now, the variability is too great, and it results in an unbalanced scenario if someone happens to have unusually bad or good luck on a regular basis, which happens a lot more than you would think.

i Thought it was the other way around.

Gollum twins are Easy, But Anodes and Goblin Guards keep kicking my ass with and Average damage of 35. Thats quite a bit.

I'll implement some of those monsters over the weekend.

I think all the lower level ones are pretty easy, up until maybe Goblin Guard, but it may depend on your job. I'm hit or miss on anodes.

Yes, experience is largely based on how much damage you take.

*points at her previous post* LIke I said, the range of the variable amount in the exp is too large. It needs to be evened out somehow....

It's not something that Shane can change. It's built into the system.

Xeni should now be a viable level 5 bot, and Goblin Prince has been added between Goblin Guard and Anode. Is there anything else that's urgently needed?

Something between Wolf (you can kill it at 0 level without much trouble) and Gollum Twin (still can't reliably kill it at level 3).
