I have converted to Firefox...

And the change feels good. :D

Actually, moving everything over was not as painful as I anticipated (very simple, actually). Now I have everything super organized, have all the extentions I think I'll need... in short, I'm one happy Silvie. ^_^

I'm enjoying everything extremely, except for one little tidbit-- I like using the scroll button on the mouse a lot, and every time I click it in Firefox, accidently on a link, it accesses the link, to a bit of an annoyance. Any idea on how to turn that click-access link off?

Also, any suggestions on any extentions/themes I should get?

From form to form, and nothing stands;
They melt like mist, the solid lands,
Like clouds they shape themselves and go.

Yay Silvie. I switched about a month ago, it's way better than IE.

I find that click on the link thing to be really useful. It opens a new tab, but saves you a click. Just try to... avoid the links. There's generally more white space, heh.

I don't have any themes or anything. Actually, haven't even heard of them. I did get FlashGot, but I'm not sure that actually counts, heh. Does download stuff faster, I think.

I had the same problem! I didn't realize what I was doing at first, so I would look at the top of the screen and go, "Why are there 5 tabs up there? I didn't do anything..." I got used to it though, and now I don't make that mistake. Welcome to Firefox Silv.

Hated it. Absolutely hated it.

When I had it, the Internet on my was unimaginably sluggish.

Hated how it didn't text wrap long strings of text in message board text boxes.

It doesn't support Alt tags.

It can't download .wmas.

It requested a plugin that didn't exist to play those music things people put at the top of their forums.

When I tried to open music in my browser, say from VGmusic, it blocked it and said it was a popup. WTF?

Thanks for the offer, Beam, but I deleted FoxFire, and I ain't bringing it back.

Oh yes, when I had FireFox, my Internet would constantly disconnect.

That's...odd. I never experienced that stuff with FireFox, CK. Especially the whole "internet disconnection" thing. =/

Yeah, that's sort of strange, CK. I never had anything weird like that with FF. Must be your computer.

Yeah. I'm going to go and chalk it up to your PC being the problem.

Perhaps the ghost of IE refused to lose another computer.

Or what you do with a web browser is not what Firefox wants to do. Either way, it depends on the system.

Firefox DOES accept Alt tags. It just uses them for the purpose that they are SUPPOSED to be used for (that is text that appears when the image doesn't load)

From the Mozilla website:
Where are the image tooltips?

Many sites use the alt HTML property to display tooltips for images. This is wrong. The correct property to use for tooltips is title. The alt property has a very important purpose, which is to provide replacement text for images in browsers that cannot or do not (by user's choice) display images, and if graphical browsers display them as tooltips people will be discouraged from using them for their correct purpose.

Boo Firefox. Both Firefox and the Mozilla Suite worked fine for a while until they started crashing EVERY TIME I PRESSED A BUTTON. Google? Crash. VGF posts? Crash. Extensions? Crash.

So I downloaded opera, swiped the registration key off... er... bought the registration, and I've been browsing happily ever since.

Yeah, but Firefox claims to be the safest browser. Safe browsers don't crash when you click on buttons, even if I do have a computer that was released shortly before the Atari.

By safest, it means it'll AUTOMATICALLY block adware programs, spyware, and viruses that IE does not.

I'm pretty sure it IS your computer, not the browser.

Personally, my thought is, if you are responsible about where you browse and you don't download everything in sight (especially those cheap add-ons you see in the forum ads), it doesn't really matter what browser you use.

I never used IE unless I was forced to (I used Netscape before switching to Firebox), but that's just my personal preference.

So, it doesn't matter what browser you use, all that matters is how you use it.
