Re: When was the last time you played a Playstation game?
...well, if playing a port counts, I played 'FF7' on XOne earlier this year. I didn't get as far as I did back in high school, but I do intend to go back and finish it, for all that that's worth.
If ports don't count, I'd probably have to go back to when I was replaying the Colony Wars games a couple years back.

Re: When was the last time you played a Playstation game?
Well if emulation counts then the original Crash. I am still trying to figure out how to smash all the boxes on the first stages.
Also checked out some sorta game from the far-east about Alien-dog people. I forget.
Beyond that it would be FF8 just for the fun of it all. Literally my first PSX game I cared about but I keep coming back to.
The PC has this now defunct release of the same game as good as it would get. Not the redefined graphics or added stuff to
minus the Pocket Station events. I personally do not like the newest release. The gal with the glasses does not look better
then her PSX or PC self.
PS2 was probably Brave Fencer Mushashi 2. I have not finished that game. have to let it linger on, because that is how fun that series is.
PS3 is not in service.
PS4 emulation I guess. However sluggish and possibly need newer hardware to run. I have a graphic card but my main machine is my work machine, I might be able to run my GPU via the network card, but my labtop might not support the add-on. Most do. I still can not believe "Street Fighter 4" is less censored then "Street Fighter 5". I really hate hearing about censoring bs, and Capcom marketing to tweens bs. Original SFighter game was in a room of people ready to fight each other and have a real Streetfighter and some of those arcade places was like Shadowloo with people walking around with snakes and all kind of zany characters from a bar in "Akira" opening.
PS5 ....when it reaches $5 a unit maybe.
I really wish SONY would cut the fat with the games already. The world is moving ahead and all they could do is mimic everybody else. Too bad they are not open.

Early 2000s. I own most of the better ones on PSN, and I don't think I ever finished a Final Fantasy game after the SNES ones. There are some games I'd like to go back to at some point.

Re: When was the last time you played a Playstation game?
I'm playing World of Final Fantasy right now, on my Vita. I didn't like the art style much so I avoided it for a while, but it's actually pretty good, certainly better than expected.
Although, I would say the PSP version is much better. If you don't already have any version of it then that's the one to get. It's worth mentioning that supposedly there's a remake looming, so it's probably worth waiting to see if that pans out.
I think FF8 was the first RPG I played on PS1, it's pretty underrated. People always seem to prefer FF7 or even FF9, but I've always been more of an FF8 guy. They're all great though, Squaresoft was at the peak from late SNES through early PS2, and PS1 was right in the sweet spot there. Every RPG they released on PS1 was good, which is amazing considering their output at the time.
If I could suggest just one to go back to first, Final Fantasy Tactics would be it. I may prefer other entries, but Tactics is very easy to get into by RPG standards. It starts off quickly and it lends itself well to either long or short sessions.

I suppose a couple years back I played FFIV on a VGF backlog challenge thing. Only thing more recent is making sure the copy of Legend of Dragoon I bought was working like it should.

FF8 problem was that square was going down the path of "Resident Evil" games. Another problem while a clean looking game, it also felt bland at times, when moving beyond the main game itself. The "fun" that was in the previous game itself was removed and we were left with
Card games
Raising money for charity for that fallen garden.
Highschool RPG ( which is a game )
Ohhwee pretty girls. DItzy, Horny, shy but easily taken, lost loves, being shunned by the world alone. etc....
Those Furry critters that is not RedXII but clearly is referencing them. Basically replaced with Alien looking fellows.
Speaking of Aliens that one scenario when you was floating around space.
Beyond that the game itself felt broken or incomplete. I love the battles, scenes and main game. Even Sieifer should have been a playable
character along with his gang.
From the start of the game you literally could down-ATama Weapon. ( whatever it is called ).
Then you have too many Bahamut Summons from the last game and this game had that one summon which you had to get.

Re: When was the last time you played a Playstation game?
I have both. Digital version of the PS game and a sealed disc of the PSP one. The last tactics game I played through may well be the Shining Force games. Those were some of the best games for Genesis.I REALLY HATE POKEMON! wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 7:17 pmIf I could suggest just one to go back to first, Final Fantasy Tactics would be it. Pretty sure that's my last one as well. I think I got to the moon. It was always one of my favorite games. I was enjoying it, but then I got distracted.

Re: When was the last time you played a Playstation game?
PS1? Probably around the turn of the century, when I played Crash Bandicoot at a friend's house & couldn't get used to the bad depth perception.
Any PS console? Probably a few years back when a different friend had a gaming party in a movie theater.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Last week, I played Soulcalibur 2 HD with my friend and nephew, stomped them both naturally. Also played Worms Revolution with them and my sister.
