Did you watch it outside the context of MST3K? That's kind of an odd experience. Some of the movies hold up pretty well ('This Island Earth' is a solid flick, I don't care what anyone says) (also I really like 'Giant Spider Invasion' and 'Space Mutiny', though I won't pretend they're good).

^No, it was MST3K. I was trying to do The Movie (This Island Earth), but it wasn't on Tubi despite Roku's search telling me it would be.

77) The Little Mermaid (2023) - B.
Some changes are for the better (Eric having a personality, Ariel having agency, cutting the song about the sisters,...), some changes are for the worse ("Under the Sea" is arranged & presented badly, "Les Poissons" shouldn't have been removed, Eric's added song is awful,...). Most of the cast is good (Bailey, Diggs, & McCarthy are standouts), but Bardem sounds & looks like he's asleep the whole time.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^ I haven't watched it, is this Eric's awful song you're talking about?

^No, because Eric isn't in that song. But that one is also bad, just a different kind of bad.

78) Batman: Mask of the Phantasm - A-. A little rushed, but it goes HARD.
79) Where the Heart Is - B-. Good script, good acting, weak direction, bad music.
80) Jurassic World: Dominion - C+. Stupid but fun.
81) Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie - A+

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^'Mask of the Phantasm' makes the Schumacher flicks look even more wan and pathetic than they already were. Great movie.

86) Santa Claus (1985) - D. Mostly good cast, mostly bad film.
87) Santa Claus (1959) - D. I just learned these are 2 different films.
88) Hamlet (1961) - D. The script being what it is, I can't flunk it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I saw 'Renfield'. I liked it a whole real lot. Couple minor things kind of clunked, but they were way overshadowed by all the rad.

Nicolas Cage is really, really good as Dracula. Like, he exceeded merry hell out of my expectations.

Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown is the latest movie I watched. For some reason it's padded with scenes from anime series, bringing it down a bit. Otherwise though it's got a lot of good action and a nice ending.

I'm watching 'Elemental' with Em-bear and I-beam. It is the most 'generic Pixar'-ass movie ever. Like processed cheese on white bread.

...when is Pixar going to do something spicy? I want to live in the version of reality in which Pixar's next project is a big-budget animated version of 'Big Man Plans'.

Watched 'Super Mario Bros' with the kids, and I thought it was really good. Then the kids wanted to watch 'Muppet Haunted Mansion', and it was appallingly idiotic. I haven't seen the other Haunted Mansion movies--------one hopes this is just some garbagey outlier.

You know, whoever is doing the voice for Kermit the Frog these days sucks and needs to be replaced. He doesn't sound like Kermit; he doesn't sound like he's even trying to be Kermit. And this isn't the old 'the Muppets don't sound the same without the original performers' thing. They were clearly trying before. Like, in 'Muppet Christmas Carol' (the first new Muppet thing after Jim Henson died), Steve Whitmire sounded pretty dead-on as Kermit----------not perfect, but close. This isn't that. New VA isn't even in the ballpark. If he's trying his hardest, then whoever is in charge must not care a whole lot.

I don't know if this is a new development (before this, the most recent new Muppet thing I'd seen was a moronic Christmas movie from like 2003, and Kermit sounded okay in that)----------all I know is that it's bad.

^It's recent. Whitmire was around until 2016, so it's still him in the really good 2011 film The Muppets, the ok 2014 film Muppets Most Wanted, & the surprisingly interesting 2015 sitcom The Muppets.
Muppet Haunted Mansion is meh, but it has a few moments that made me smile. Dave Goelz is audibly getting old, & Pepe is annoying (but they haven't recast Rizzo since Whitmire left). Original Haunted Mansion is kinda meh to me too, tbh. I hear the new one is better.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

There was a song in the middle with acceptable lyrics (I think it's 'Life Hereafter', looking at the soundtrack), but the only thing I actually enjoyed was Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem's cover of 'Dancin in the Moonlight' that played over the end credits.

Watched a few more terror horror movies with the gang (well, the latter two were just with Riv and Maxy and a couple of their same-age pals. Even I'm not enough of a morans to put on slasher flicks in front of the five- and eight-year-old).
'Goosebumps'-------pretty good. Well-made and imaginative.
'ParaNorman'--------great! As stop-motion animated spookedy-ookedy flicks go, this is right up there with 'Nightmare Before Christmas', 'Coraline', 'Corpse Bride' or 'BoxTrolls'. Really impressive.
'Five Nights at Freddy's Movie'----------ridiculously stupid and convoluted. I never thought I'd ever find myself thinking "gee, it's too bad this piece of media isn't more like the game of FNAF". Curveball.
'Freaky'---------good fun flick. Amusing twist on the old "freaky friday" premise. Couple of creative kills.

I watched 'Nimona' on the train. I liked it a lot----------it was really funny, and it had some super awesome fight scenes.

^Yeah, Nimona really surprised me in a good way. :)

94) The Shining - B
95) Christmas with Holly - B. Above-average for a Hallmark film; it helps that it completely defied their usual template.
96) Silver Bells (2005) - C+. Some strong actors help save an interesting premise from poor scripting & direction.
97) Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken - C. Again, good ideas & good (voice) acting, but poor scripting & direction (plus ugly character designs).
