Biscuits and Gravy
First, when aussies talk about biscuits, we mean sweet biscuits, which you call cookies. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing these biscuits are kind of like a plain scone???
So, do you like biscuits and gravy?
What kind of gravy do you like on biscuits?
When was the last time you ate biscuits and gravy?

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
It's all right. It's nothing to write home about. Maybe if I'd been born in Mobile, buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy would be the flavour of home---------------I'm from Wisconsin. We want pickled herring and bavarian-style saurkraut.

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
It's one of my favorite breakfast meals, not the healthiest thing to eat though. I just like the regular white gravy with lots of pepper, and I mean lots. It's been months since I've had it.

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
...it's definitely good breakfast food. We had it all the time up at camp, only they called it SOS (if you draw a distinction between SOS and the supposed 'biscuits and gravy'...stop. It's all bread with food garbage on top. It's one step up from pig-slop. Quit being a snob, for crying out loud).

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
American biscuits are like a soft, savory, buttermilk scone.
I don't really care for biscuits & gravy, because I don't like white gravy.
I *love* biscuits, though. Melt some butter into 'em, top 'em with jam, make a sandwich out of 'em, eat 'em plain, they're great! (As long as they're still soft.)
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

....man alive. I love KFC biscuits with honey.
I'd probably commit a crime to get Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits.
(*tries to imagine combination of KFC and Red Lobster biscuits with sausage gravy on top--------------heart kasplodes*)

KFC biscuits are incredible, but they give you that fake honey now, cheapskates.

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
I dunno. I like eggs more.
I went to the corner diner, and as an experiment, I got two scambies and two fried. Corned beef hash, coffee and orange juice as a control. I think I like scambies better. It's not a bad experiment to do yourself, unless you gots a heart flutter or somethn

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
Continuing the experiment. They messed up my order a little (forgot the orange juice, and they brought me hash browns instead of corned beef hash). Scambies versus sunny-side-up (not the same as fried. I will fight you).
Scrambled still wins------------you know, I'll be the first one to acknowledge it, the yolk is gross. It's just this mass of stuff. I know it's the healthy part, the part loaded with all the vitamins and protein and all----------that doesn't alter the fact that it's disgusting and I don't like it. Anyone who tries to convince me otherwise should try eating eggs without salt and pepper. Yeah, it's really easy to like the yolk when you're having a devilled egg, you cheater.

A place in Alabama. I wasn't trying to disparage it, it was just the first place I thought of when I thought 'place where people probably like biscuits and gravy'.

Re: Biscuits and Gravy
Yolks tastes good if it's a scrambled egg, but any time you can taste the yolks in a more concentrated way, like a hard boiled egg, it's kinda gross if it's not covered up.
