Tetris (2023)

Anyone heard about this? It purports to be the true story about how 'Tetris' made it from the Soviet bloc to the Game Boy.

I think it looks weird and interesting. Don't have Apple+ or whatever, but my sister does--------------maybe I can watch it next time I'm out in Dakota, some night after all them goofy kids are in bed.

It would be an interesting watch for me if I weren't a nerd who already knows the full history of Tetris.

I'm thinking I might do a 1 month free trial of Apple+ so I can squeeze in this, Coda, & that musical miniseries with Cecily Strong (& maybe stuff 'em all through the analog hole, if you catch my drift), but I don't like giving Apple money in general.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

If you like an animated flick, you should check out 'Wolfwalkers' as well. It's one of those gorgeous Tomm Moore flicks that looks like a medieval tapestry come to life, and Apple+ has it.

Lol, I wish there was a way of "analog holing" their games. Apple Arcade has a couple neat exclusives with no other way to play them, most notably Fantasian. It's probably the first time exclusivity has really bothered me, because it's not just trapped to Apple devices but also behind a subscription service.

^...I hate exclusives.

You know, Apple owning exclusive rights to the Peanuts holiday specials isn't going to make tons of people get subscriptions to Apple+; all it's really going to do is make it so most kids going forward never see 'Charlie Brown Christmas' or 'Great Pumpkin' or 'Easter Beagle'. That's a disgusting state of affairs.

That's true, I never thought about it that way. It kind of causes some cultural disconnect.

^^Fortunately, those specials are available on disc.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
