What's your Christmas going to be like? What kind of things are you expecting to do?

Ours will be hot. Over 30C. Our family does not go to the beach, but gathers together at various houses (where there's plenty of airconditioning!!) and we each bring food to share. We'll generally have cold meat and salads, but sometimes someone will bring a hot turkey with roast vegetables!!
I love Christmas pudding, and also, pavlova, so I expect I'll have a bit of these sometime on the day, although, I'm making tiramisu this year!!


Tonight (Christmas Eve), we'll open our Jolabokaflod gifts (https://adventures.is/blog/iceland-chri ... %20reading!) and then read until bed!!

We saw my family last night. In the morning we're driving to visit my in-laws. A significant chunk of the continent just had a huge cold surge with snow; otherwise we would've left today.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

'It's a marshmallow world in the winter' my ass. It's a cthonic frozen nightmare world, is what it is. Minus seven F outside right now, even without the wind-chill. And there's wind-chill, my dears. Wind is a-gusting up to 50. Ugh. I'm mister icicle, and even I'm wrapped up in sweaters and blankets.

We gots family stuff the next few nights, I'm 'looking forward' to most of it. There'll be cribbage, and kinship, and tom-and-jerries. I can tolerate at least one of those things.

It is quite inhospitable here. We didn't have a white Christmas, but temperatures in the teens the last couple of days. Tomorrow it's supposed to reach freezing.
