It's been years. I'm not overly comfortable on the freeway (I started driving late), so I tend to avoid it.

Re: When was the last time you drove on a freeway?
I used to have to every day. My exit was sketchy (the exit is right where other people are entering with minimal room), and the road was poorly maintained. They would rip it up with their last of the budget for the year and then leave it like that for months every year until they could afford to finish it. It is embarrassing mismanagement, not to mention damaging to people's cars. Other than some sections, I didn't mind it too much, but I would just as soon not do it if I could avoid it. The roads around here are mostly six lane highways (three on each side), which are pretty manageable. I moved closer to work specifically to reduce the time and distance to commute, which resulted in rarely having to go on the highway. I am close to multiple main roadways that can get me to most places I need to go.
Worse than that was the toll road. Traffic would back up, sometimes for miles, so they could collect tolls. The whole system is not designed to function with a large volume of cars, so it was a disaster any time there was an accident or busy time period like a holiday. They have since automated that so you don't have to stop and they just send you a bill based on your license plate. Doesn't seem very cost efficient, though before most of the money was going to pay people.

To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

Yesterday. It was pretty normal.
I got my license right before I went to college, so I got used to freeway driving really quickly.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Yesterday. Houston is kinda sprawling, so you get on the freeway most days.

Re: When was the last time you drove on a freeway?
I drive on our freeway often, so I see all the people who don't know how to merge or how to change lanes without causing a near-miss. It's sometimes a nail-biting experience, but for the most part, it's okay.
