hehe the topic is acronym hell. Has anyone played MegaMan Battle Network games? That would make an awesome MMO, I bet.

In all seriousness, I've never played a MMBN game.

MMORPG-massively multiplayer online role playing game. Like star wars galaxies. You could design your own netnavi and stuff and it would be cool.

I've had this idea since before this came up. It could even be on the DS since it will support wireless multiplayer and internet play!

When you begin, you create your Real World character and then your Navi to use in the Cyberworld. After the tutorial, you'll start in ACDC town online and can explore it. When you talk to certain NPCs, you'll get free Metroline tickets to other places.

If it's on the DS, you can view the Real World on one screen and the Cyberworld on the other if your Navi is jacked into the net or a computerized machine. If not, the other screen will display the PET interface, where you can make selections via touchscreen, customize your Navi and Battle Chips, use a keyboard to chat, and more.

Some places you can travel to are the SciLab, where Dr. Hikari and the scientists are working day and night to come up with nifty inventions, and you may also find the WWW hideout, and even work for Dr. Wily and carry out his evil bidding! There's also the stadium of the N1 Grand Prix, which regularly holds NetBattling Tournaments between 32 human players.

In both worlds you can wonder freely and chat with other players as well as trade chips and Netbattle your Navis against each other. You can also make a buddy list to talk to your friends secretly wherever you are, provided that they are online.

Hmm...this gives me an idea...for the roleplaying forum...

Now this is a good idea. The Mega Man Battle Network games always had a good plot and a great battle system that worked even when playing against real players via link cable. If you were to combine it with MMORPG elements, which wouldn't be too hard, considering that the gameplay is already an exploration-type RPG, you'd have the ultimate game. Heck, I'd buy the DS just for this game. But, of course, I'd buy the DS anyway so I could play Metroid Prime: Hunters. What I'm saying is, if the DS had only one game and it was a Mega Man Battle Network MMORPG, I'd buy it.
