Red: Y'sure that's smart? The others were sleepin', maybe hung over too, but except for them couple palms, this be an open beach. We can try it, but it's tough to catch Shells unawares, even when he's asleep. He mighta seen us already, for all we know. Still, if that's your thinkin'... that was never me strong suit, arr. Well, matey?

Red: If me brain's workin', Shells is directly between us'n'the captives. The guard on them might be awake or asleep-- supposed to be up, but it's not the most excitin' post. Same for the captives themselves. O' course, we stripped them of all their weapons, so they wouldn't do us much good in a fight. Hell, only one of 'em-- oh...

He pauses briefly, then goes on in an even lower tone.

Red: Thought Shells was lookin' straight at me for a bit... arr. Anyway, only one of 'em could fight. He was the guard for the two others, who I believe are 'krut traders. The guard was an Archy merc, methinks. We captured 'em a couple nights back, figured we could get a good ransom, but the man we sent hasn't returned. It'll be a good couple o' weeks until he gets back, less if the Trader's Sea's smilin'. That's about all there is to say about them.

You try to sneak up on Shells. He notices you almost immediately.

Shells: Red? What's going on, lad? Why be ye skulkin' about like that?
Red: Oh, Shells... I just captured this 'un. Taking him to join the other prisoners. Put up a bit of a fight, he did, but I got 'im in the end.
Shells: You alone? Did Harvey come an' help?
Red: Aye, cap'n.
Shells: How'd he fare?
Red: Oh, he... he did okay.
Shells: Arr. That so. Why have ye not disarmed yer prisoner?
Red: I... uh...
Shells: I'm not stupid, lads.

He sighs and pauses.

Shells: Red, Red, Red. Too concerned for yer own worthless hide, as always. I'll deal with ye later, me an' the cat. (Red flinches at this.) So what's yer name, cull? Why're ye here? And how many do ye have to account for?

He's talking to you. He knows he's been betrayed, but he doesn't seem all that upset. What do you say?
