Beldic: Really? Hm...
Kros: Stay your knife, boy. We need them, and we can't have you going crazy on us. ...er... crazier.
Beldic: Yes, yes. You're right.
Kros: We'll have to get you some kills then. If you're holding up well, maybe you can each hold two. Who knows, maybe more? I might be able to take another myself.
Beldic: You'll leave me behind... you'll kill me!
Kros: Calm down. You have your part in all this, too. Even if you're too weak to help us fight in the end, you can help us plan, organize... whatever needs to be done. Those are as important as the fighting itself, you know. I remember a few tidbits of military strategy I studied, although of course most of that memory's gone now. They wiped much, but not all.
Beldic: Okay... great. Let's get these two their kills.
Kros: Lovely. Let's see how smart you two are. Where do you think you should go for an ambush in these parts? Can't stray too far, here there be monsters. Human monsters, aye, but monsters all the same.

Beldic: Oh, we've gotten a few visitors in the short time we've been here. Couldn't kill too many, though.
Kros: By the way, since I first got my two kills, I feel their presence in my mind-- as a discordance, that is-- has lessened. If my friend here's symptoms recede completely, then I have an idea as to what would be going on. I'm guessing our bodies use the souls as a substitute for food, since there's nothing to eat here, and as they do the dissonant energy from them decreases, leaving our minds better at peace. Therefore, we could become more powerful, though care must still be taken.

Kros: Snakes, yes... lovely. That's interesting, about the power. We'll have to see how that all works out. So what better way to test than to get you two a kill?

Kros: So, what do you think of the area? Any place to stage an ambush? Remember what you need for an ambush-- the ambushers as well as a scout and some form of communication. But the loud mouse kills no lions, as they say-- the quieter the better.

You walk to the entrance, and halt.

Kros: As you can see, there's three main hills around here. The one to the west is a little steeper and higher than t'other two.

The others are to the northeast and to the south. The traces of movement were going from the west to the south.

Kros: So?

(Btw, before I go, i'll arm myself with two rocks)

"How about Kagami hides on that western hill. I'll sneak off to the south, since it seems someone moved that direction, and see if I can lure them, behind this hill so as not to give away our base, and call out when I arrive nearby. Kagami can attempt to sneak up on the opponents after I call up, or throw rocks at them from afar until the distance is closed.

The only problem with that is I'd need to get some rocks beforehand to attack. Either that or have to rush in and attack with a stick.

Kros: Smart thinking, Onus. That's what I like to hear. As for you, Kagami... we can get you a few rocks from the cave. Maybe when we find someone, he'll have a better weapon. If not, that stick will have to make do. I got this club off one of my kills.
