As soon as time permits. I know it sounds ridiculous, but lately I've yet again run into an obstacle. For now I'm focusing on the NLBFT, and even that I've been procrastinating in order to at least give Selene a challenger. I'm awfully sorry, guys, and I promise this will be started within the confines of this summer.

Well, let's reboot this.
By now most everybody who signed up is no longer with us, so I'm going to clear the signup sheet for now. Any new folks who want to try this out, read the first post.
I'm going to work on some sort of epic opening post over the weekend. In the meantime, let's see if anyone's interested.

Looks like fun
I shall join the attacking side, as it appears that the possibility for carnage is much higher on that end of the spectrum.
Will there be any sort of time-delay penalties in this topic, as there have been in the other three that I read? Because I would assume that it is harder to keep something like this active if certain people do not post while others keep doing so.
Hello, by the way.
I am a traveller.

OoC: I'm really rusty. I didn't realize it until I tried to write this damn thing. So please excuse this post not really being too incredibly detailed or superspecialawesome. I kept it simple for now, but I expect it to become a little more complicated than it looks as we go along. Anyway, this is just so you know who and what you're up against for now. So, uh... To arms!
------------------------------------------------------
Oceansford.
The castle was perfect. There were no mistakes. It spanned thousands of feet, with walls ten stories high and towers far higher. There was a great moat, dug by countless slaves who often found their lives at an end floating face down in that same place. It was perfectly circular; on all sides, it was guarded by four great towers, each surrounded with two smaller towers, all filled with garrisoned men. Deep inside its brick and its wood it harbored centuries of turmoil, and it had seen hundred of lords come and go. So often was it besieged that it came to be known as Oceansford the Stepping Stone. It was a fortress that lay unfortunately in the center of several warring kingdoms and was often the sole obstacle to pass before those kingdoms could be accessed. Any given day of the week, a new Lord would brave the chaos and take the fortress, often abandoned, for his own, only to have one of the kingdoms march right over him on the warpath to whatever opposite kingdom that had managed to offend them.
But now, for twenty years, a new lord had owned the castle. No longer were there armies marching through him; no, they marched around him, knowing that they would unnecessarily lose many of their proud foot soldiers if they even passed within stone's throw. The fort now hosted thousands of men, walls laced with archers continuously on watch, dipping their arrows in foreign oils and setting any machination of wood and steel meant to crush the thick walls of the keep ablaze before the great stone fortress even came within sight. The lord himself was feared, his name rarely uttered; he was a man from the great southern kingdom that rarely took part in any war save for war with themselves.
Now he was stroking his beard, alone. All was silent around him. His banner, the great black eagle, was draped over each of the windows in his great hall, though he kept no other company nor furnishing to liven the dark gray around him. Lord Stone, they called him. His family name was Ashenlake, but he had long abandoned the noble family he had been raised to be a part of in favor of being a conquering hero. He was not at all a conquering hero, but he often tricked himself into believing he was.
He was not aware of the armies approaching. He did not know of their intent to march through him as they did in days of old, and honestly, he was not the sort to concern himself with such things. The last siege on the fortress was seven years before. At this point, he was more concerned with waiting for his country to send him the reinforcements he had requested so that he could launch a full-scale assault on the kingdoms he was in the dead center of; he did not know, as there had been no messenger to tell him, that his home country was once again in the midst of civil war and that he was long thought dead due to a miscommunication.
But now his men outside were beginning to stir. Something was not quite what it should be. Something, some brave thing, was outside of the walls, and approaching.
And something was about to awaken the deadened spirit in the great Stone Ashenlake.

WHY WON'T SOMEONE COME BEFORE ME?!
OoC: wtf, there's what, 3 people on my team and no one posted. I'm not even sure if my army breaks any rules or not. :(
---------------------------
From over the hill came an evil laugh. It wasn't a deep voice, or a crazy sounding voice either, it was more of a....child's voice. Despite that, the laugh obviously showed the years of practice that went into it, so obviously no real child would laugh like that. Regardless on top of a hill of the castle was a young man with no shirt, short blue hair, though he had long strands of hair long enough to be pushed over his head. A long, somewhat torn Red scarf is tied around his neck, matching the color of his shorts, shoes, and eyes. Around his arms are gold bracelets, with decorative "x's" on them. To his left is a girl about the same age with Pink pigtails and suggestive black clothing sitting on top of a blue penguin that looked like a doll. To his right is another girl with long blond hair wearing a white coat and a red hairband that bears a resemblance to rabbit's ears, matching the unitard under the coat and high-heels. The girl on the left speaks up. "When your done laughing like an utter buffoon, maybe you could tell us why we're in this alternate human world?"
The boy turns to darker looking of the two women. "I do not laugh like a buffoon!" says the boy. "Besides, isn't an Overlord supposed to accept any challenge?". "But, Laharl..." says the girl on the right "You haven't been challenged. Especially not by anyone here. It looks like such a nice place." "That's because you don't know about this castle!" says Laharl "In the past, this place has been conquered over and over by invading armies. Recently though, it's been occupied by a more powerful human." "Now, how would you know about that?" says Etna. Laharl only smirks and says "I have my sources." Flonne immediately speaks up "You heard it from that Silver Prinny! I remember him talking about a castle and-". Laharl glares at Flonne, quickly silencing her, "Who gives a damn about sources? The point I'm trying to get across is that this castle itself is a challenge!" Both Etna and Flonne stare at Laharl after he utters this statement, Etna's stare being one of annoyance, while Flonne's stare is more out of amazement. "Yyyyeah....How is this a challenge?" says Etna. "Hmph. Etna, for an Overlord's Vassal, you sure seem out of the loop about how I do things." Etna stares at the castle for a second, before she answering "Oh I get it. You issued this challenge to yourself." "That's right!" says Laharl "This castle is just asking to get conquered, and who better to do so then yours truly!"
"I guess I'll call the army and start this thing." says Etna. She taps the Prinny under her, who pulls out a button. Etna quickly stomps on the button, and uses it to jump off the Prinny, who falls over. Almost immediately a large blue portal opens and about 48 Prinnies pop out, one standing in front wearing a Red Scarf. This is followed by a 40 Swordsmen, 25 Archers, and 10 Mages, 2 of Fire, 2 of Ice, 2 of Wind, 2 of Star, and 2 Clerics. These are followed by three people, one being a man in a space suit, a hot babe, and an Egg shaped Robot. "FOR THE NETHERWORLD!" says Thursday, the Robot. "Hmph." Says the Spacesuit man, Gordon "I can't believe he's using me, The Defender of Earth, like a lowly soldier!" "Aw, cheer up." says Jennifer, the babe "if everything goes smoothly, Harley may just promote you." "I don't want that!" says Gordon "Nothing would be more detestable then helping that demon anymore than I already have!" "ARE YOU THREE JUST GONNA STAND THERE AND CHIT-CHAT?!" yells Laharl. "You get to marching, or I may just have you clean the ash off the castle walls!". Upon hearing this, the three "Defenders of Earth" run off. "So, you're going to storm the castle with such a small army?" says Etna. "Ha! This is just the first wave!" responds Laharl "Just keep that beacon from being destroyed, and everything will go according to plan."
Laharl of course refers to the button the Prinny was holding. The Prinny quickly gets back up and starts to spin in place.
