A Little Warmup Before Something Else Insane... (Open Challenge)

Here's a little taste of what I have planned.

Open battle--first person to seriously accept begins fight.
Rules:
No Called Hits - That means you need to go 'Attempts' instead of 'hit instantly' and leave it up to the other fighter whether it hits.
No Called Damage - You don't know the other person's character well enough to fairly judge how much damage you did. That, too, should be left to the other person to do.
No Cheaply Avoiding Damage/Hits - On the other hand, if your posts defy sanity (Magically avoiding all the shots from a machinegun, saying one is hit by a lethal attack but taking no damage) you will be called on it, and in fact, I may choose to fight someone else if you cannot understand the rules/fix obvious issues. So as to be fair though, if you feel the same about me, I shall have some neutral bystanders determine whether I have been cheap as well.
No Mega-Super-Duper Powerups - State your rough power level before starting. If it starts getting out of hand, it's going bye-bye, because it's no fun to just spend the fight in an unending unrealistic arms race.
No Unending Stamina - It's not fun if your character can take hits all day and keep going, or if mine does the same. Fight's gotta end some time, yo.

And finally...

No Laziness - If you take more than a week, then I'm going to find someone else. If I take more than a week, then you win, I concede, and I will gladly give you a post of my character losing to yours.

Oh, and this match is to have an end; nothing more that I hate than an open-ended match that dies in the twilight. If you vanish, I'll find someone else; if I vanish, I'll concede.

So, if you can understand that... feel free to pick your fighter, then announce your power level (Preferably below 'Awesome universe destroying Omniscient SuperGod') and post in the battlefield, and we'll have ourselves a go.

Or if nobody picks to fight me after a week, I'll import my own. Activity will be had... either way.

As for winning or losing, it should be self-evident, though I also have open the idea of a tie if that happens, or we can't agree/decide.

Your rules bring back bad memories of the KAF incident. I'm personally glad that not every battle here runs on that system; around here, I was always attracted to the idea that we're allowed to sensibly damage our opponents within our posts. Erdawn, Wyborn, and Joker were the best at that; every single one of their posts was gloriously bloody.

Anyway, good luck with your topic. :p

Thanks.

The issue was that, pardon my french, those KAF people were pricks. The rules work fine for those who are interested, and it's just an exercise to the battler to decide whether or not they're interested--as opposed to throwing a temper tantrum like that other guy did.

I was tempted to bring this up to the KAF people at the time, but ultimately considered it to be moot.

So I shall continue waiting... until the end of the week, then I shall just bring in one of my friends instead. :p

Hm. Why not? I kind of fight like this anyway, and I did want to fight you sometime.

I'll use Tazy starting in his Super Saiya-jin form so there's no transforming surprises.

Power-Level is probably below the ability to destroy more than 80% of the planet without fainting, so "Planet Destroyer" wouldn't be too far off.

Since you didn't say who should make the stage, I guess I'll leave it to you, unless you want me to go first.

Very well! I shall be using an entirely different battler then, as Metal Man squarely fits in the 'Town Destroyer' category, not so much 'Planet Destroyer.'

Cue the usual...

========================================================

It was a windy day in the empty brown wasteland. Desert sands blew across ancient writings as a single man walked through. The sun seemed low in the sky, and dim. Everywhere there were stone walls and deep pits.

Here, in the ancient Egyptian temples, deep in the desert, a single man walked from room to room. He wore the garb of an archaeologist. In his left hand was a ten foot tall spear, etched with ancient teal writings of a much different race than the Egyptians. His narrow, hawk-like face was suspiciously clean of scars, and his red irised eyes glowed in a fiery way. As his leather bootsteps echoed down the horizontal hallways, he stopped at a large wall panel.

"Boring.... boring... BORING! There is NOTHING here. No magic powers... no magic people... not even a single curse." The man tapped the wall inscription and looked around. "What kind of backwards civilization puts all their work into burial spaces?" He again shook his head, then coughed as a dust storm blew down the hallways.

His nasal, scratchy voice bounced around the place. "If a small dust storm is all this place has for me, then I'm goin' somewhere else. I can kill something FAR more inter--"

He stopped, as he heard a noise down the hallway. He turned. "Well... I'll be. That has to be something good! Or perhaps something more interesting than this temple of boredom." He turned and ran towards the noise...

...With no concern for his own safety.

Opening Post! Never give up, Tazy!

Out of the shadows came a man with his fingers to the wall in a vain attempt to read the hieroglyphics within. His jacket was slightly torn from the harsh pounding of the desert, as were his jeans, and his boots were almost filled with sand. All this time this man had his other hand in his brown spiky hair, attempting to quell the voice inside his head. "Oh,come on" said the voice known as Toma "It's not like fading from existence will hurt. You're only delaying my return with this." Tazy continued reading, not paying too much attention to his inner ancestor. "Rebirth...or is it Set? Maybe I should have bought a book on this. Rebirth Water? Reborn in the water is Ra, who will guide all of his followers to the....great...sun..." Tazy started to move faster, attempting to find anything involving the removal of a soul from one's body. The voice grew louder and louder. "BORING" said Toma "Come on, let's just blow the place up and find something more worth my time. I heard Kiyone is looking for you. Let's pop in for a little visi-". Tazy slams his fist into the wall, leaving a hole, "Shut up, SHUT UP" yells Tazy, the ki surging through his body. "Sorry, I'm a permanent guest" says Toma. "I...can knock you out though." responds Tazy. "I'm hurt." says Toma "You think you can harm me in some way, I must not have drilled my power into your pea-brained head yet." Tazy stomps his foot, and his hair starts to turn yellow. "If I can't find a way to remove you. I'LL FORCE YOU OUT."

Tazy starts to charge up Ki. His eyes turn blue, his hair turns yellow, and the air around him starts to push upward to make room for the energy coming from him. Suddenly the energy explodes, and Tazy stands as a "Super Saiyan", Tazy smiles. "As long as I concentrate on this form, I can silence you. Even if it's only for a while, it's long enough for me to continue my study of these glyphs." Before Tazy can get back to the wall, though, a man with a spear and archaeologist clothes makes a bull charge at him. Tazy jumps over the strange man and lands behind him. "What the hell?" said Tazy before he notices the damage to the wall done while speaking with his great-great-great grandfather. "Oh.....sorry, about the wall. It was just a recipe for Egyptian Pie..." Tazy noticed that the man was obviously not caring for that wall. The spear, and the fact he ran full force in a temple as brittle as this proved he wanted a fight. Tazy wasn't going to take chances with him. "So...a fight is it?" "What do you think?" said the archaeologist.

Tazy charges up a ball of energy, red in color. He quickly fires it at his opponent shouting "RED BALL!" The ball flies towards the Archaeologist in a straight line.

The archaeologist snickered as the ball flew at him. He spun the spear and smashed the ball of energy, blowing it to bits. "We haven't been properly introduced."

Then he charged up the spear, and a sickening noise was heard as the ancient energies in his unholy spear fired off a beam at the ceiling above Tazy. Hundreds of years of dust, rock, and priceless antiquities ripped through the floor and went cascading at Tazy's head.

"They call me Jack the Widowmaker. But you can call me Jack for short." He stood their, smirking like some sort of prankster as the ancient wealth fell at Tazy.

All the while leaving the archaeologist open to another attack...

The Mysterious Spearman! Give Him a Taste of Your Power!

Tazy holds his arm up and tries to step away from the falling pottery, but some of it still hits Tazy's head. Most of these pots were too old to do more than bother the Super Saiyan. "Ok, you're DEFINATLY not an Archeologist." says Tazy "I guess I'll have to step it up a bit."

Tazy charges a ball of purple energy in his hand. "I guess it would be rude not to tell you my name, now that you've told me yours,hm?" says Tazy, "Name's Tazy. Tazy Ten. Now that the names are out of the way, let's get it on!" Tazy quickly fires a medium sized purple beam at Jack, who quickly destroys it with his staff. Tazy takes one step forward and fires another blast, and Jack destroys that one as well. As Tazy keeps walking towards Jack, he fires these purple beams faster and faster, and Jack keeps destroying them. Whether or not Jack knows that these beams aren't very powerful, getting hit would still push him back, and a loss of ground probably isn't a good way to start this fight.

Eventually Tazy is close enough to fight hand-to-hand, and stop shooting beams at Jack. Jack attempts to stab stab Tazy with the spear, but Tazy quickly grabs Jack's Weapon. Thinking quickly, Tazy pulls his arm back and prepares to punch Jack in the face.

Jack was punched in his face and disarmed. He fell on the floor with a crisp crack, ancient Egyptian dust blowing everywhere.

"Dammit. What do you think you are, some kind of boxer?" His raspy, angry voice echoed.

He then floated back to his feet; a small wave of wind preceded him, blowing on Tazy. "You have my staff, so you think I can do nothing. Or maybe you don't. But I don't really care, because only a sucker would take it anyway."

Jack would then hold his hand out, and the staff would slowly, but surely, be attracted to the hand.... unless Tazy held onto it, in which case it'd begin struggling with Tazy's grasp.

"By all means, hold onto it... if you like being electrocuted." The nasty man's face crumpled into a vicious smile, his heartless coal eyes staring through Tazy and at the hieroglyphics behind him.

wtf tazy, what are you doing?

Tazy immeadiatley let go of the staff in fear. Whether or not Jack was lieing about the staff shocking him, Tazy didn't exactly want to find out. As the staff started to fly back, Tazy gave a somewhat uncharacteristic smirk.

He quickly fomed a light bal ball of energy and started charging it. Tazy then started to chant, "Ka-Me-Ha-Meeeeeeeee". After about a second, Tazy forced his palms forward forcing a somewhat large beam forward. "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" yelled Tazy.

The beam shot out at Jack and his staff.

The million-mile stare Jack gave Tazy would pierce through even the fiercest of beams, and this time was no exception. As the beam violently hit Jack,, he stood there, taking its full fury. As the smoke subsided, a bloody burn was on his body where it had hit. Most people would need to rush to the hospital after that...

...But Jack powered up his staff and walked towards Tazy instead.

"You're not an idiot, I'll give you that. But you're not gonna win with a bunch of beams." Jack floated off the ground, ethereal runic symbols floating around him and the staff. "I'll show you what true power is."

The symbols coalesced into a constellation around Jack; they formed the constellation of the hunter, with the brightest star, Sirius, appearing in front of Jack. Jack pointed his staff at it, and suddenly, the stars glowed bright white, before then firing ultra-precise thin lasers of light at Tazy.

The lasers came from Jack at Tazy in all kinds of crazy angles--trying anything but dodging backwards would end in burns if Tazy wasn't careful. But did Jack want Tazy to dodge backwards on purpose? Who knew.

Well, it has been a week. The challenge is up. Next person to challenge seriously gets it.

And they can choose to intro a new locale, or use the current one.

First Gunjin battle, let`s see if I can do this...

My character of choice will be Jared, he could be classified as about the same power level as Jack, give or take.

===================

"The Egyptian Desert...." Jared thought to himself as he fumbled to get to the great pyramid. The dust storm had gotten worse and worse, and Jared had regret ever coming here.

He had originally came in an attempt to find secrets about his past, or at least learn some new magic.

He finally got into the ancient building.

"What a pathetic wastleland." Jared thought to himself, tired and panting.

At that moment he heard footsteps.

"Aww, man... Why now?" Jared thought to himself. He drew his longsword and got into an offensive position.

Jack glanced at the person who had just walked in, and also looked to where his previous foe had been. Seeing his previous foe had 'left the building' without dying, he brushed himself off, and then faced the new challenger.

"Why now? Because that's when people die all the time. They have the walk through the desert, then they walk into the temple, and then..."

Before anyone could react, Jack suddenly threw his magical spear at Jared, although whether it would hit would depend on Jack's reaction skills.

"Then they get impaled by an ancient spear!"

Jared attempted to jump out of the way in time, but the spear skimed his arm, giving him a small cut on his right arm. The spear flew down the hallway and skid to a stop. Now that his opponent was disarmed, Jared was feeling confident, he decided to run at Jack full speed to slash at him with his longsword.

"HYAAAAAA!!!" Jared yelled, running at Jack.

"What are you going to do, kill me with your over-telegraphed sword attack?"

Jack crossed his arms as the sword closed in. At the last moment, he then went to try and grab the holder of the sword and hurl them backwards into the wall with a judo roll--although he did cut himself a little on the blade, whether or not the move succeeded.

Still, his intent was clear--throw the enemy away with his own momentum.

"UGH!" Jared slammed into the wall behind him. He knew it was a foolhardy attempt to kill someone, but the again, he believed Jack to be your average archeologist. With a spear.

"When you touched me, I sensed you were no mere mortal," Jared began, "so it looks like I`ll have to kick things up a notch"

As he said this, his sword began to give off a strange aura. He decided to go on the defensive to examine his opponent, he wondered what tricks he might have up his sleeve. He didn`t show it, but he was suprised when this stranger had countered his attack even with his exellent agility, and was still recovering.

"Your move." Jared said invitingly.

"My pleasure."

Jack's eyes glowed as he lifted up his right hand, teal energy appearing around it. The spear which he had thrown suddenly flew back towards his hand--but then Jack made a point of 'accidentally' not grabbing it.

The spear flew past Jared's right ear, not doing any damage--it was a feint, but an annoying one nonetheless, as it made a loud whooshing noise.

Jack put his left hand to his hip and then held out his right hand in a "Oh come on, is that all you can do?" pose as the spear began pinballing around Jared, loudly chipping pieces out of the wall and causing some dust to fill the air. He then hovered the spear in the air for a minute...

Then he snapped his fingers.

WHOOSH!

The spear was now aiming for Jared's heart. And as it flew at him, it glowed with an unnatural teal hue--such that it would feel like one was on fire to be too close to it... plasma. He had better move quickly!

Jared braced himself, he had no intrest in dodging, but instead he slashed with his sword to deflect the spear, his timing was only enough to redirect the spear at a forty degree angle. The spear didn`t hit him, but instead the teal aura had burned part of his shoulder.

"DAMMIT!" yelled Jared, who quickly noticed the smug look on Jack`s face.

"I`ll rip that grin off your face!" exclaimed a furious Jared. His sword went from yellow aura to an ominous purplish hue. Jared slashed at Jack, from a distance still, and a wave of an evil, purplish, dark wave of energy. As it grazed the wall it seemed to cut perfectly, and it was headed right for Jack.

"Yes. Become angry. Like that will help you."

He chuckled dryly as the painful wave of energy collided into him; but instead of being slashed in half by it, he was simply cut across--revealing that underneath the skin, there was metal.

"My original body died long ago. How about yours?" He casually punched the ground so hard it threw a seismic shockwave of rock and air through the floor like a wave of rock at Jared.
