The NC/SSS Crossover Mach 2

#1

Post by Red » Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:35 pm

So it hasn't been updated in 3 years, and I'm not making any promises. But I have had a few ideas, and a lot of people seemed to like my fan comic "Star Trek/NC" which continued the story as a crossover/crossover. So I've been thinking about trying to make Part 13. I just want to see if any of the original authors would object to me doing it.

Like I said it my never happen anyway.

I keep hearing there's a large part that's about to be finished every time I ask the original authors.

Unfortunately, this means they probably won't let anyone else touch it, even if that part never appears.

I say you make a contest out of it. Have people submit their own comic version of the conclusion to the series, and vote for the best one.

Well, if Jay himself says that, then I may as well disregard the people who keep telling me it'll be done and set that up instead. After all, if they really are nearly finished, then they should be able to enter it into the contest. Or perhaps give it to me on the side as the 'original.'

NC/SSS Mach 2 has been going on for many years, or I should say, hasn't, and thus Jay has suggested the user-contributed portion be the ending of it.

That can make more room for more user-created series, since ultimately NC/SSS Mach 2 is kinda outdated by now anyway and just needs to be finished...

(Mostly because Pat and Wolfman left SSS, Jay isn't around much at NC, and the people who planned on making the next parts don't seem to be finishing any time soon. Also, several years have passed, XP)

Also, a new short will be up soon.

Tying up all the loose ends in one comic could be challenging.

It could be. But you could submit a long multi-part comix, I guess.

Multiple comics would work better than just one final comic, IMO. Less rushed?

I think, anyway, Jay's idea is that we have a contest to see who is best suited for finishing it, perhaps by having each person make a representative work--in this case, another episode of NC/SSS, although meant to try to conclude it rather than add new info.

I'll formalize some rules, prod the old dead people who were writing it, then make another topic for that soon.

Ultimately it may wind up being a mixture of people, as I don't want to be too exclusive--since so many people seem interested.

Hello all, long time no see...if anyone remembers me... Anyway, I have an ending I have always had planned, and still recall most of it. I always wanted to do at least two more parts, separated by Jay's parts. It has always been me and Jay that made the parts, I only had a short stay at SSS. I have no objection to someone making the next part, I would however like to finish the story that I started. Give me some time to think of something, I'll let you all know soon if I think of something for the next part or not. I promise.

Edit: By the way, if I do get an idea, please have patience (I won't need 3 years worth). Whenever I do these I tend to get carried away, and I end up going for like 200 frames, which is no simple task.

Our patience is limited, Lord Reid, considering the several year absence before. I will wait until the end of this month and if ye do not still have some sort of plan I will go ahead with mine.

Not to mention I am actually an SP at SSS, know VG and Pat, and so on. It has been funny, but honestly, if we wait much longer, we may well stick a fork in it and call it done just to allow for newer stuff.

Alright, quick update.

I have begun working on the new part. I should be able to work on it a lot during holiday boredom. But I can't give a time table as to when it will be done, as I rather not just push out a part quickly that isn't funny. Just know that it is being worked on, and I'll keep everyone updated.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving all. Don't trust the corn.
