Finished off the little bit I had before Floating Continent stuff and got Sabin again on the way back from Maine on Friday. Timed sequences are much more awesome when going down a highway at night.

I found Terra and "Gerad" yesterday. I get what's happening with Terra plotwise, but I have a hard time believing someone's strength could deteriorate that much in just a year. Or maybe I'm just mad they stole the character I was using to do everything.

Found "Edgar" and Setzer today. I'm not entirely sure why two of the tentacles killed themselves, but the boss fight and story stuff around it were awesome anyway.

Here's to hoping Strago and his healing rod drop out of the sky after I go in to this tomb. I'd forgotten how much easier it was to have one-hit heals instead of using potions of spells. :p

^I never found the Heal Rod useful outside of challenges. Their best use? Betting for Magus Rods in the Colosseum. -CSM

Well, you beat one of the most frustrating bosses; the Tentacles. Now that you've got Setzer, you can do anything you want, really. Just look out for Doom Gaze. :P

Eh. They get about 200 more HP than Cura (which I didn't have at the time, anyway) and don't use any MP. More importantly, I could use it around Silence and Runic.

Doesn't really matter since I'm not going to even bother trying to free Strago for a loooong time. Haven't been doing much with magic so far.

Yesterday I got Cyan, Terra, and Gau. Then I died in the cave where Locke is, got Gau again, died against some boss in the sky because I had almost no health left, got Gau again, remembered to save, and than lasted two turns against the Earth Dragon.

On a more positive note, I got the two magicite in the Narshe mine with no problems.

^Dirt Dragon? Psaw. Mog with a Snow Muffler and Cherub Down and DragoonBoots in the back row ALL BY HIMSELF means you can't possibly lose. -CSM

^^Even when he uses Quake and a 3k damage normal attack? That still would have done about 2,200 to the back row.

Got Relm, Strago, and the mimic guy (Gogo?) yesterday. Relm improved about 500% since the last time I saw her. (Control+Behemoth Suit+Magical Paintbrush+Circlet FTW!) Haven't bothered using the other two yet.

Today I went to Doma Castle and did the first part of the Dreamscape thing. I'm really wishing I'd brought more Green Cherries, since Relm is the only one in my party who knows Esuna (Dispel doesn't seem to work) and I can't always get Ruinic up before someone casts Imp.

As far as progressing in the Dreamscape Train, I made it to the car that has the rotating couches, realized I had to go back, and then semi-intentionally died so I could get my Green Cherries and Remedies back. Haven't tried again yet.

Also, I like how the guy at the Narshe weapon shop wants to se me so badly that he won't even open his door. :p

I know who I need to find in order to get in to most of the houses in Narshe (the Returner house and the Armor Shop are unlocked for some reason), but I still liked how even the guy who wants to see me won't leave his door open.

Cherub Down = Float = Quake and Slide can't touch you.
Snow Muffler + Genji Shield + Red Cap + Back Row = Max Defense, Horned Tusk (massive physical attack) does 0 damage. This nulls out all his damage.
DragoonBoots + Spear = Mog can attack from back row with normal damage. Trident hits a weakness.

Gau can do this too, but he doesn't need a Cherub Down since he can avoid Quake with a proper Rage, so he can use a Relic to boost his offense. -CSM

Or you could use Gaia Gear, float, berserk (I think), and phantom.

If you use Gaia Gear there's no point in Floating. -CSM

Semi-Bump here.

I won't be able to put much time into this game for quite a while, and I'm in pretty much the same place I was when I last updated this. (the only difference being that I killed Earth Dragon) Should I just try to speedrun the remaining part of the game or send it back (it's a rent) and pick it up again over the summer?

I'm pretty sure I had half the game or so left. I was missing about 1/4th of the characters (Locke and what looked like 3 more), had only killed one of the dragons, had only about half the espers...

Anyway, I already sent it back.

^^Remember there are only 14 characters even though the airship thing shows 16 character slots. And the reason there are 16 is because of sprite dimensions. -CSM
