A month later, Galefore delivers a judgment! I'm so obviously a very timely judge, and you should all praise me. Promptly.
No really, I'm sorry, guys. Here's the Alpha judgments, and I'm getting on those damned Beta judgments when time finds me.
ALPHA DIVISION BATTLES
Battle 1: L007 vs. Trickster
Loot: Man, I love Scorpion to ****ing death. And I feel you utilized him rather well, using his extremely violent offensive strategy and his home-turf of Hell to your advantage. That said, I feel that Scorpion should have been reserved for a tournament in which violence counts more, like the Red Lions tournament. His style is more adjusted towards ripping people in goddamn two, and I could tell you would have loved to rip some arms off if you had more time to do so. Aside from a few grammatical hiccups, you paced the attacks moderately well and you did an okay job of producing good mental imagery. Unfortunately, like last round, you suffered from posting too few times and not getting enough in.
Score: 6.0
Trickster: Arkimeth is interesting; I've seen the armor/warrior symbiotic relationship idea played a lot here in the Gunjin, but you did it in just enough of an original way for me not to count that against you. As well, you had a fun style of attack; we didn't get far enough in to see you really **** **** up with some elemental hypermagic, but we did get to see you go berserk and have a nice little sparring match. You managed to realistically depict what an exchange of blows between a guy in heavy armor and a ninja would be like, and you balanced out your damage with Loot's damage quite nicely. I commend you for that. Your writing, as usual, was clean and eloquent, and in execution in helped clearly define your moves and added a lot to the imagery.
Score 7.5
Battle 2: Metal Man vs. IRHP
Metal Man: Despite the almost unnecessarily gargantuan nature of your posts, they were well-paced and fun to read. I've grown to rather like Metal Man as a character and I feel that the years of development you've put into him give him a familiarity that makes him very comfortably versatile in your hands. I enjoyed your creative use of the environment this time around, and the coke-machine electric shock trick? Brilliant. You were in control of this battle from the beginning, although there was a point where it seemed the Ninja's stealth tactics had stumped your character. I commend your acknowledging of the heat in the American west and I also enjoyed, like last time, the reactions of curious/terrified onlookers. Fine job.
Score: 8.0
IRHP: Okay, there were a few issues here: One, you did not describe your character. If I were not familiar with the Cyborg Ninja to begin with, I would have been lost for the entire battle. Linking a Wiki article does not right that wrong; consistent description is very, very important in this type of battle. As well, your posts, up until that very last one, were inadequate and most of the damage your character did was done by MM himself. MM has a penchant for extremely long posts and you seemed to be his exact opposite here; next time, try to keep up with your opponent a bit better. The small amount of meat you gave me to chew on was only slightly marred by a few errors in grammar and spelling, but they were not enough to really distract me. I just feel that you should have done far more over the course of the battle, because your last post was actually quite good. I would have liked to have seen more of that type of post, so remember that next time we do this Tourney.

I think we agreed to bust heads again later, Loot-- remind me once I'm over by Korea. Going there in two weeks, whoo~
On that note, I will definitely be able to begin the next round in time, however I will have an... as-yet-unknown hiccup in my online time as I physically move over to Korea for my deployment, and I'll need to find online access while over there so I may finish the round and keep in touch. So, in advance, I have to apologize if my posts stretch to like, more than 3 days apart after August 15th. :(

Thanks.
I hope to fight Trickster soon, since he might be hit hard by his time thing if it takes too long. @_@
Also, you did a good job too, IRHP.

Uhm... Is it too much to ask that we might, well, set up a separate round of the tournament in my match against Metal Man? MM, I know you probably won't like this idea much (in terms of, argh, you'll have to wait a bit more :( ), but if things happen this way, then as soon as I can confirm my constant online access in Korea, we'll be able to start and I'll be able to post without any time-related penalties all the way to the end of the match. Does this sound acceptable?
4 days to go, hum de dum.

It's fine with me, but I'm not sure what Galefore would think. In the past, people often just resigned from the tournament over things like that, not that I suggest you should.
It would happen that I'm having to use dial-up just to post this sentence, since my connection also exploded for no reason.
Of course, I have a reliable dial-up backup, so I'm fine for whatever.

Missing a chance to fight against Metal Man over Internet connection issues? Inconceivable!
I mean, I really don't *have* to resign. Like I stated, it's only a small hiccup of absence while I settle and adjust myself to our work shifts and timezone over at South K-- I've already confirmed that there will be 24-hour Internet access available over there. =]

Then it would seem there is no problem.
Now to wait for Galefore.
