Played the game for the first time just recently. I think it'd be better to leave the series alone. If Break ever is announced, everyone will expect a game as good as CT and have their expectations very high.

Game was good. I liked the DS stuff until Emerald Mountain...

Also, I agree with Ton about the characters. On the plus side, you can assume everyone is happy or something. (Robo lives. In a nice future, Frog is a hero and Ayla helps populate the Earth with Kino. No idea about Magus because I, uh, killed him. He'll be in my New Game+)

I don't know if this has anything to do with the Chrono series, but look at this:

N4G.com : Square Enix Register New Trademark: Cross Treasures

Perhaps this could be a remake of Chrono Cross, with the help of the "Dream Team"? Or perhaps a rerelease, somehow? It may not even be related, but it is very interesting, since it isn't even August 11th yet...

The 11th announcement has been confirmed to be a soundtrack thing, anyway. That's what the art was for, I think. There was a link on page 1.

Looking back, saying that another Chrono game shouldn't be made because of expectations is kinda lame on my part. I guess I just didn't like CT's world, as strange as that can sound.

We'll see what happens..

As for not liking the CT world, that's likely only due to system limitations. If that game was made in today's world, not just remade, it'd probably kill us with awesome.

I can admit CT has flaws but I don't blame the game, rather than circumstances.
