The ground sizzled around him. The air tasted of smoke. And worse yet, the sun was setting. Metal Man twitched, laying in a puddle of his own oil. A mechanical beep was heard, and then he slammed both his steel toes into the ground with a loud CRACK. A quick snort of vents and still-functioning pneumatic systems later, he propped himself up to a standing position.

Wiping the blood around his mouth, Metal Man looked at Bryan the same way as before. A cruel smirk appeared, almost as if he had enjoyed that hideous experience. Then Metal Man took out a shiny, anachronistic Soviet-issue pistol (cleverly hidden in his left armpit armor compartment) and aimed in Bryan's general direction. Metal's strangely darker voice, scratched the air and eventually reached the ears of those around him.

"Nice work... for your first try."

The coachman watched. He then sputtered and guffawed at this steel man's foolery. He mockingly spit some speech at Metal Man. "First try? First try? What was the rest of that then, the practice round? You're already dead from a practical standpoint!"

Metal Man frowned. He stared at the coachman. "And what are you?"

The elderly man with the wrinkled skin, white hair, black suit, and bad attitude straightened himself. His lips pursed, as if to speak.

But Bryan saw nothing but Metal Man speaking to idiots and wasting his time He was angered by how his previous bystander-scattering had failed to silence these moronic conversations. So he went to hurl his sword into the Metal Man again. But Metal Man's back was turned, and those bothersome morals came up again. Bryan's fists shook with rage at how annoying the situation was. After all, wouldn't you be tired of being hit by events repeating to the point the word again loses all its meaning... again and again and again?

As Bryan thought of how to alert Metal Man moments before throwing the sword at him, the Coachman spoke. "Well, you didn't think me to be one of those idiots, did you? No... I knew you'd be here. And this fine man, he's going to kill you. After all, you saw his watch. He's just like the Time Cops. Of course, he doesn't know this. Well. He knows now, but it doesn't matter. He wants you dead, and I--"

Metal Man hurled a punch at the Coachman. The Metal Man's shiny fist flew like a rocket, only to BOING bounce off of something... a bizarre rainbow phonebox-shaped force field?

"--am not capable of taking damage from lower-plane beings like yourself. Now be a good boy and die for your crimes against the time Cops... Time Bandit." The Coachman said this as if the Metal Man was a wanted felon.

Metal Man shook his head, not the least bothered by this pretentious pronouncement. "I'll do what I feel like." He whirled around. As he opened his mouth, a sword flew into his visor and nicked his face. He batted it away, brushing off some blood from the new wound it made. The tin man's face leaked some more blood. "Thanks a lot, wonder boy. That'll get you off the Christmas list." He petulantly kicked the sword back to Bryan for no reason. Then again, the look in Metal's eyes suggested he didn't like being around those swords after that previous exploding nanite incident. As the smell of antifreeze, industrial pollutants, and brimstone continued to fill the air, Metal...

"There's that man! Kill him! Ignore what that idiot told you!"

...Ducked as the guards came back, firing at him again. "GAH! Just what I didn't need!" Metal Man ducked behind a carriage in a spastic fashion (with the sound of a rusty door bending) after one of the arrows pierced his faded, miserable flesh. Bryan stared at the group, angrily telling them to go away. But this was a new captain of the guard, and unlike the now jobless former man, he wasn't going to listen to some punk.

He shot Bryan right in the arm and his men advanced forward. Metal Man meanwhile had somehow hidden amongst the stagecoaches despite being a glaringly obvious metal cyborg hundreds of years before his time. It appeared Bryan's morals were now under the test. The Coachman shook his head. "Ah, don't pay any mind to those guardsmen. They just kill normal people. Not special people like you. All they do it for is--"

The leader of the guard pointed at the Coachman. "Whoever that man is, he is most definitely not a friend of England. Shoot him!" The Coachman laughed as the arrows bounced off of his shield. And Bryan, wanting to fight Metal Man instead of early Victorian-era guards, ran off down the cobblestone-covered street.

. . .

The sun had fully set, and Bryan was still lurking in the dark expanses of England. The moon had come out. People had forgotten all about the afternoon skirmish. But Bryan had not forgotten that strange man who had insulted Metal Man. Confused thoughts bubbled in his head. Why Metal Man had such a history? Why all those people kept talking as if Metal Man was some important enemy? None of that existed in his world, and it all sounded stupid to him. Time Cops? Some weird man with a phone booth shield? Ludicrous.

He was about to call it off when he somehow wound up on the same street. The area had been cleaned, and here was Metal Man, speaking to a top-hatted weirdo. He hadn't healed any from the earlier battle; rather, he looked worse. But as usual, he wasn't paying any attention to the battle, or to Bryan.

"So, do you have a chrono-charge? My timepiece is--"

"No. I don't do business with the Time Bandit, especially--" He looked to Bryan. "...When his pursuers are right here."

Bryan saw the eerie reflection in the bizarre man's monocle. But just like that, the strange brown-top-hatted man vanished into thin air. Metal Man, who had been holding a mug of some sort of ale, drank a swig and hurled the container onto the ground, where it shattered. "All right, all right, I'll hit you this time."

Bryan had become increasingly impatient with this man, who had led him on a 30 minute goose chase just so he could get a drink... mid-fight!!! He raised his sword and Metal Man shook his rattly, cracked, mostly broken visor.

"It's not what you think it is. Nothing is." Bryan, annoyed and bored with this man's antics, answered by hurling his sword at Metal Man again.

It flew all the way at Metal Man, but this time, Metal Man raised his left hand. It glowed... ...he had a watch too.

Time stopped, the blade freezing mid-air.

"You're one of them new-models, aren't you? Claim to come from a more mysterious organization. You have nano-bots. You rarely use your wrist control device." Metal held up his own model--it must have dated to the stone age, for it was all cracked and showing weird LED numbers. Even stranger, it had a giant gash in it, and was malfunctioning erratically--the sword seemed to twitch mid-air. It was far from a perfect freeze. Only an inferior, worthless time controlling device would do that.

The Metal Man flicked the sword aside and then stood before Bryan. Even though Metal Man's device had frozen Bryan, Metal had no interest in even touching his foe. Instead he leaned on a fence. "We're all the same, you know. Weird travelers through time and space. Only you think you can control everything." Metal Man put the sword back in Bryan's hand again.

"The answer is... you can't. Those guards will be back... and..." His smirk widened in the flickering gaslight. "Whether or not I live or die... this night will haunt your nightmares forever."

A hideous smell wafted from Metal Man--the smell of a dead, decaying evil. Almost vampiric. Between the hideous damage Bryan had done were many old scars--scars which glowed red. And upon close examination, these scars were not just anything--they were demonic.

It all made sense--a crazed man who had gone rogue in part due to being tainted by demons. Unfortunately for Bryan, this demonic man had just gained the advantage of night time... and it would be a long time before the comforting light of day came.

Metal Man snapped his damaged left hand's robotic fingers, and time continued. Bryan's fears about moral code were gone--this man was demonic, or at least twisted. The moral code said Metal Man should die. Especially with those glowing wounds and his bizarrely glowing, empty eyes.

But it would be much harder than that. Bryan lunged and stabbed the Metal Man again. But his target moved forward and grabbed Bryan's face with a cold, metallic right hand. The iron claw crushed Bryan's puny flesh, then the Man of Steel's arm hurled him into the nearby brick wall. As the sound of crushed masonry pierced the ear, Metal Man reached to his side, and picked up... a parked Penny Farthing. "You know what I know? No. That is why you rely on your device. That is a weakness, not a strength. Once again, you have shown me your powerlessness. Just like some two-bit punk kid."

Bryan stood up from the bricks and saw the shadows of a flying bike zooming at his face. He reached for his wrist, but as his device was about to be activated, a shiny silver motion flickered where Metal Man was. *BAM* An old-school bullet flew into his device and knocked it away from his hand. Just in time for the ancient trike-bike's massive wheel to rebound off of his face and knock him backwards into the bricks again.

"I came from nothing. I died time and time again. But then time stopped making sense and all was better. The point I'm getting at, is..." the man of steel erratically twitched and hurled his gun above Bryan's head. With an old-timey CLANK, the green-painted optometrist sign came crashing down dead.

This had been going on forever, and Bryan was ready for the third time. Metal Man predictably threw a pike from that same old fence, and Bryan parried it away. As the massive monolith lunged at him for a grab, he parried.

The two bodies struggled in the moonlight, Metal Man flinging punches as Bryan ducked and dodged, and kicked and pushed. They went through the eyeglass shop. And then the pharmacy. And then, they crashed through a blacksmith's refinery. Decorated in three kinds of debris, they eventually came into another street.

The Metal Man had taken all number of injuries. Bryan was sure he was nearly dead, then he went viciously in for the kill, hitting his watch and then stabbing with his sword again, directly at Metal Man's heart. You can't survive this. Nobody can. Just die already!

The steel clank and sickening slide, at first, seemed to confirm Bryan's hypothesis. But then he saw time arcing strangely, and Metal Man standing out of the way. The blade had stabbed an innocent bystander. Bryan, dismayed, went to turn the time stop off.

But it did not change. The bleeding bloody wreck of a man taunted. "I told you, it is your weakness." He clutched his malfunctioning watch, as the world seemed bright and to be lurching back and forth now, destabilizing. "You and I aren't much different. You and I aren't much different. Bryan... Bryan...

BRYANNNNNNNNNN BRBRBRBYANNNNNNNNNN--"

The noises echoed hideously. Bryan saw Metal Men everywhere, equipped with all the weapons seen so far. They came upon him at all angles, at all times. Reality had been bent into pure suffering; and his watch, having stopped time, had given Metal Man all the time in the world to do it. As the seconds seemed like hours (because, after all, they had stopped ticking), the hideous existence stopped. But instead of death... Bryan awoke on the ground outside the pharmacy, no more bloody than he had been during the fight. But... his timepiece had been busted.

Metal Man stood there, glowing eerily. "Watches and men break equally easily, do they not? What does it matter what you do... when you are a pawn?" He held his hand out, as if to help Bryan stand up. "Come... stab me if you must, but..." He coughed some red mist. "You must know that I was a victim of the life you are now living. If you kill me... you are only killing yourself."

The Metal Mad Man laughed crazily, as to Bryan... he appeared to morph INTO Bryan.

"Sure of your reality still, little man? Come and stab me, it won't hurt. Or will it?" The false-Bryan's mouth curved. As if to suggest the illusory nature of it, a metal hand reached out from the hologram and then shot Bryan in the sword-wrist. Then suddenly Metal Man was back in front of Bryan again... ...and the timepiece on Bryan's arm began to burn. The air felt cool... ...and real. For once, Metal Man said a straight statement, and the familiar smells of England returned. As well as Metal Man, kicking himself over something.

"...Dang it! I guess my mental-incoherency field hit you a little too hard." He shrugged as if he had made a mistake. "I just wanted you to, you know, stop using that time device and wasting our time. That's awfully boring to do. Good to see the field wore off, though. It wouldn't have been a challenge if all that happened was you stabbing me and then my field turning you into a vegetable." Corroborating his speech was a strangely glowing electronic device on Metal's chest. It was the same rainbow color as the hallucination, and looked like it had been hastily slipped on. It had one sword dent in it, too.

The night flickered, and Bryan last remembered fighting the Metal Man through the stores. Next to him was the melted sword, which had apparently hit the badge when he had gone to kill Metal Man once and for all. Realizing this, Bryan opened his mouth to respond--

...The cold feel of a Metal fist slammed into his mouth in response. An annoyed Metal voice followed. "Now shut up and die already! Sheesh! I'm almost out of witty lines! And when that happens... ... ...just die already!"

Amrick Ukihara was not pleased.

Not only had the magic knight been stabbed by comical fragments of chilling ice appearing out of nowhere without incantation or warning by part of the blue-hatted Toad, he was also matched for more than a couple seconds in the heated blow exchange of merely a minute ago. And yet he felt as if the opponent was only mocking him, enticing him to bring mroe and more power into the fight only to counter effortlessly, simply and without spending too much effort.

If only he hadn't stopped swinging his artifact staff at the Toad, it would be knocked out of existence by now. Or so he wanted to believe. He was putting a great deal of energy into the fight, the most of it coming straight from his Linker Core, the internal source of his magic: pumped out from Concierto to fuel the necessary energy to cast spells without any sort of incantation or preparing, he knew his Core wouldn't last him forever at this state. The wounds he received from the ice chunks were closed now, thanks to the immense surge of energy flowing through him, but they were by no means healed. He wasn't bleeding anymore, but they sure stung and hurt like hell.

And the Toad grinned, grasping that comical butter knife. Yep, Amrick Ukihara was not pleased.

Two venting tubes rose from the base of the staff's bullet chamber, releasing two howling clouds of hot steam. Spinning, the chamber reloaded itself with the usual loud click, powering up the weapon once again. Amrick itself was still kinda glossy-looking, the silver hair shimmering like an animated pretty boy in the cool night air while his gritted teeth showed, a pearly white maw illuminating the battlefield. He spoke slowly, trying to restrain his desire to both laugh and slamming his artifact into the ground in a rage fit:

"It hasn't even been an hour and I'm already sick of you..." he muttered, his hands trembling at the pain of his wounds. "Concierto, I think we need to bring this up a notch, what do you say?" The golden staff replied with an energetic 'YES SIR' flashing across the display of the ruby orb core, retracting the venting tubes back into the main body of the cartridge chamber. Looking up, he looked into the Toad's bobbling head, then at the simple smile it was giving him with butter knife in hand. He pointed the crescent moon tip toward Blue Toad, and instantly, a magic circle formed right below his feet: slowly rotating, it was the same maze of designs and drawings that the circle which brought him here had, and its appearance added a little more shine to the area as the knight spoke again: "Crippling Rain Rhapsody, Extension", to which the artifact replied, 'WEAPON SHOOTING MODE'. The circle turned into two circles, which turned into four smaller ones that rose from the ground and positioned themselves right behind Amrick. Grasping the staff tighter, he pointed it straight at the Toad, and exhaled.

Then he opened his eyes wider, focusing and thrusting the weapon forward. The four glyphs then started to fire small bullets of magic energy, one after the other after the other after the other after the other after the other. A dozen, a couple hundred, maybe even a thousand-- it was an all-out frontal assault at the Toad, while all around them, the remains of the castle were blown away, cracked apart or simply destroyed by the stray shots: shells, coins, broken wings, even a mushroom or two were victimized by the assault.
And it wasn't ending anytime soon.

Deathstroke scoffed at the comment of this odd man that stood before him. Yet, he couldn't help but feel there was something more to this man than what he had let on. That unnatural control over the plants around him. Slade's memory was foggy. Had he faced an opponent with plant control before? After all, he had suffered a knock to the noggin a week ago thanks to a tangle with a man that looked eerily similar to him. It was the worst fight ever. He would not die.

HE WOULD NOT SHUT UP.

"Dear lad, while many questions remain a mystery to me about your identity and power, I will refrain from chasing curiosity and ask you once to remove yourself from my presence." Deathstroke turned his head ever the slightly to the distant city. "I have an urgent matter to attend to and killing you right now will just make me late."

No. You must stay.

Slade grunted with inpatience. "Perhaps you aren't understanding me. I am gracing you by letting you keep your miserable life. My time here cannot be disturbed."

The strange alchemist started to approach Deathstroke. The assassin reacted immediatly by thrusting his body forward, forcing his weight into one punch to the gut of the strange man before him. Deathstroke didn't plan on letting this man live, anyway. During the time they talked, he was planning on unsheathing his blade on the man's head. The strange courage shown offset his plan, forcing him to strike at the solar plexus.

He missed. He merely hit the gut hard enough to cause the man to wretch over. Slade started to grab at his sword, but... "What? Where is it?!!" The assassin quickly scanned the area and saw that his opponent had managed to snatch it. Perhaps the sword was not buckled down correctly. Figures, his minute plans are turning only to second plans. He was getting sloppy. His age was starting to kick in. His mind was on his son and daughter constantly. His lover...

And that damned lookalike's constant cracks. He could hear him now. Hey, Sladey ol' pal! It's me, Deadpool! I'm in your mind, stealing your insanity! Haha, just kidding. Whoh, wait, how AM I in your mind? Bullseye, what do you make of this? Wait, where are you going? Bring back cheese puffs, then! Man, I tell you, Sladey oh pal, we're like twins seperated by universe! Yup, you and me could be like brothers!

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" Deathstroke suddenly yelled.

^^Actually, it's a bit late for that now. If someone drops out next round, I'll be sure to ring Blake up.

Anyway, time is in a few days. I will be gone until next Friday, and probably have my judgments up by that night or by Saturday. Apologies in advance for the week's wait, but there have been way longer. :p

Ok, I'm cool with that too. For the next round, can I just recycle my intro for this one?

BLUE TOADx1

Only a desolate waste remained thereafter. Shattered fragments of a once breath-taking area were all that remained, save two fighters who would be leaving soon.

The Blue Toad laid on what was apparently the debris of debris, a bloodied butter-knife in his hand. His wide eyes seemed familiar to Amrick: he was sure that he had seen a distant gaze like it before, perhaps many times.

"Stop staring at me!" a British voice cried out from behind Amrick.

Amrick turned around, a strange feeling shaking his heart. This feeling is a feeling that resounds through people when they do not want to deal with someone. Before him was a short Toad with a familiar blue-spoted hate, and two unfamiliar features: a monocle and a brown mustache.

"No." Amrick stated quietly, as that feeling amplified.

"Bwahaha!" the monocled Blue Toad laughed to himself. "You're probably thinking, 'But I already murdered the SUPER MACHO AWESOME Blue Toad! How can he be back, with an awesome mustache, to boot!?'" the Blue Toad began pacing. "Well, I've got news for you, buddy! I, the Blue Toad have multiple lives, and this spot is right on the world map!"

"Uh, sure." Amrick replied, not completely sure of what his death-defying foe had just said. But it was obvious that bypassing death so simply and growing hair was a great disturbance in the universe. It was no wonder that this Toad had been branded an anomaly.

"Righty-o then, time for you to die horribly." the Blue Toad stated coldly, adjusting his monocle. Suddenly, it glowed a blue color! His mustache twirled, before suddenly detaching it's self from his face. It grew enormous, and developed large yellow fangs, red eyes and claws! The short man tried to hop on, but ended up on his face. Two attempts later, he hoisted himself on his mutant mustache. "Alright! Me and my RIDE ARMOR MUSTACHE are going to enjoy tearing you apart!"

The mustache drifted into the air, overlooking the wrecked field. While the Blue Toad cackled, Amrick blinked his eyes, wondering just what was wrong with this place. The mustache quickly descended upon the magic knight, grabbing him with one of it's new, sharp claws. It rose into the sky once again with Amrick in tow, the moon illuminating it's mysterious hairs.

OoC: Sorry for being late, but it wasn't my fault though, it was the weather's. The weather knocked out the power, and the dsl got screwed up because of the rain, (it was out from about 12:30 P.M. yesterday, until, well, whenever this gets posted) and well, you get my point, I had nowhere else to get internet, and therefore couldn't post my [/ooc]

Bryan was getting angry. And why shouldn't he be? He had been shot in the right arm by an arrow, as well as his right wrist, he had lost his watch, the watch which Metalman thought was going to blow up, but didn't even after he tossed it over one of the nearby one story houses, his sword had been melted, Metal man had resorted to using illusions again and on top of everything else, Bryan now had the metallic taste of Metal Man's fist in mouth. Saying that he had the right to be pissed was an understatement.

They were now in what seemed like the center of the city, as they were inside of a large circle, surrounded with shops and stands of every kind. They had apparently gotten there through Metal Man's wreckless running through buildings.
It was a bit eerie there. There wasn't a soul to be found. For even if the markets were open at night around this time, its not like there would be anyone around

Right at the touch of Metalman's gauntlet to his face, Bryan had "drawn" a glowing black and purple circle around Metal Man's wrist. Right away, it tightly gripped him. Metal man withdrew right away, and grabed his arm. Just then , a huge shock went into Metalman's armor, as purple sparks flew from him. Metalman gave out a grunt of pain, as the shock lasted for only a moment. Metalman was surprised, not because of the not-so-intense shock, but by fact that the ring came from thin air. He quickly came to the conclusion that it must've been another nanobite trick, and started to try to pull the bracelette off.

Bryan: ...Powerless?...

Metal Man being preoccupied at the moment with pulling the ring off, didn't notice.

Bryan: ...You say I'm powerless?...
I'll Show you powerless!

Bryan swished his hands through the air in a precise manner, almost as if he was drawing again. Metal man was stlill preoccupied with the ring, and didn't notice, until... White light began emanating from every area that Bryan had swished his hand through, and now that it was put together, it formed an atleast slightly familiar shape ...
The empty space that was inside of the lit areas were now being filled in, in a way that it looked water being poured into a glass almost. Once done filling, the finished product was revealed to be something looking pretty much like a bazooka, but with the difference that the barrel, was now five times as wide.

Bryan put the large contraption over his left shoulder, and without hesitation, fired a single shot at Metal Man, who himself had no time to react.

Bryan went skidding backwards a good ten feet as a ball of light about three times the size of a basketball went direcly into the Metal man's mid torso.

At first, it seemed like the ball was sliding into him, or like it was being absorbed into him, but once it reached the point of having half of its mass inside of him, it shrank to the size of a pea, then a bright yellow explosion about the size of two hand grenades occured. An interesting thing, is that there were no sounds emmitted from the explosion, but the point is that the explosion occured.

Metal Man was immediately thrown backwards into a grey-stone wall of a nearby cathedral, leaving a small hole, and quite a few cracks. The impact of him hitting the wall wasn't exactly large, but that's only because the energy and force that was generated by the explosion was meant to be absorbed by the target's body, and cause them to basicly be evaporated in a sense, or possibly incinerated. The point is that Metal Man should've been gone, but Metal Man's armor had deflected part of the energy, and absorbed the rest. The deflected energy had caused Metal Man to fly back.

After the smoke and dust cleared, there sat the metal man, inside the print his armor had caused, a large black hole rimmed with red hot metal, with smoke rising from it, and a small stream of oil and blood flowing steadily from it, in the center of his torso.
The ,"bazooka" turned into dust. Bryan got up, holding his right arm, and began walking over to the seemingly still stunned Metal Man. As Bryan got closer to his enemy, the more thoughts that went through his head. "Who was the strange coachman? Who were these 'Time Police'? " As Bryan got within 10 yards of Metal Man, Bryan remembered the saying he had learned to remember whenever in the heat of battle. "Thump'em and dump'em". It was to remind him to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible, and to not waste time. Bryan was disappointed in himself for not following this earlier, as it was one of the codes he lived by. He also figured that asking these questions right now would be a waste of time, as well as cause him to lose track of his goal, which at the moment, was surviving, and the best way to do that, was to take out Metal
Man as quickly as possible...

Metal Man began shifting , as small bits of rubble from the cathedral wall fell to the ground. As he was moving, sparks flew from the limbs of his armor, as well as the gaping hole in his torso.

Bryan wasn't much surprised by this, he had figured that Metal Man would be able to get up from it, as he seemed to be able to get up from everything, no matter what, but Bryan didn't lose hope, becaause he had infact punctured the armor, and that not only left Metal Man open, but it also meant that he wasn't in fact, invincible.

Metal Man: Still relying on nothing but machinery, huh? That shows just how weak you really are!

Bryan wanted to reveal to Metal Man that his watch wasn't reeally of the value that he thought it was, and he wanted to reveal it in a flashy way, but he wanted his opponent to think he relied on nothing but machinery for a while.

Bryan: Well, you're one to talk Mister "Big Metal Suit". You say that I'm weak for using equipment like this, but you're just as werak. If not, then weaker!

Bryan knew he needed to be done with this entire fight, but he had to do it efficiently, and he knew that the power of words were stronger than most weapons could hope to be.

Metal Man: I'm no-

Just then, a pebble fell on Metal Man's apparently newly found/made helmet, with a "clunk!" He looked up to see what it was, then at that moment, a person sized stone shaped like a long oval, came falling on its "tip". It missed him, as he dodged to the side just in time. Bryan had drawn a pebble behind his back, then caused a portal to appear above Metal Man's head, and behind his own back. He then dropped the pebble in, and as Metal Man was distracted, Bryan drew a boulder, in midair, and let it drop through the portal. His aim was a bit off, but Bryan took advantage of he moment, and slashed at the air with his hands, "drawing" two seperate air blades, each hitting Metal Man, First in the hole of his armor, second in the chest. Metal Man went flying back into the cathedral wall, this time more blood and oil coming from the hole in his armor.

Metal Man was getting tired of being interupted, and tired of being hit. He started to move again, but before he could even get out of the, now deeper, hole, a seemingly basic throwing knife, with a three inch triangular blade, and a two inch brass handle, with a ruby at the center, went directly into the hole of Metal Man's armor like a dart, making a ,"thhtf!" sound, as Metal Man grunted in pain.

Metal Man: Is this all you have left!? Ha! You're nothing , but a -

Just as he was reaching for the knife, the ruby in the center began flashing, and an instant later, another explosion, this one being about as big as three grenades. This time, Metal Man went flying through the wall, and up through the middle aisle, knocking over quite a few benches on his way through. He skidded on his side, his armor making a terrible noise on the dark marble flooring.
He finally came to a stop near the end of the aisle, more blood and oil flowing from his now even more cracked and blackened armor.

Bryan stepped in through the hole that was in the wall, that he had caused. The church had dark marble floors of many different colors, It ha a high ceiling, prolly about twemty feet up, with what was probably a beautifully painted mural, but it was kind of hard to discern due to the darkness of the night. There were red tapestries along the white walls, and at the front was a cross, behind a podium. with an un seeable painting in the background.

Bryan was was now holding another sword in his left hand, while holding his bloodied right arm as well. His sword was just like the last sword that was melted, it was toothed, wavy, and a hand gaurd about as long as the handle. The only difference was the size of the blade, it was about two feet longer, as well as a half a foot wider.

Metal Man got himself up, looked at Bryan and said.

Metal Man: Well aren't we the-

Just then Metal Man fired three more shots from his concealed pistol at Bryan.

Bryan Held his sword up to ricochette one bullet away, slashed at the second one, simply causing the bullet to split in half, and having the two halfs to hit the wall behind him. Each of those eventually found their ways out through either the mosaic windows, or through the big hole in the wall.

The third came directly at Bryan's head. Bryan swung his right arm to the side almost like dead weight, and caused another, "energy blade" to fire, this one seemed to incinerate the bullet, but kept going. Metal man pressed the button of his watch right at the moment that the blade was about to hit his wrist. Metal Man breathed a sigh of relief, but right then... One of the malfunctions that occured earlier, occured again. The energy blade shifted, just slightly, and BANG!. It hit the watch, destroying it. Metal man was restored to regular time, his now ruined watch doing nothing now, except for sparking, and giving off a static noise.

Metal Man: No! DAMMIT You SONAVA- Just then, Metal Man fell to his knees, shaking as if having a seizure again. He was covered in Purple static again, like earlier.
He had completely forgotten about the black bracelette on his wrist.

This time the shock was more intense, huge sparks flying every which way, as he shook on the floor, foam coming out from under his new visor, presumably from his mouth.

The Shocking went on for about three minutes, before the bracelette finally just shattered , leaving nothing but a glowing red mark where it was.

Metal Man was still on the floor, smoking, sizzling, and everything in between, remaining on his side, but Bryan waited, the dull edge of his sword propped on his shoulder. Waiting...

OoC: Hope that was satisfactory, I worked hard on it. :D [/ooc]

Weegee was knocked on the floor. Blood oozed out from his torso where the three bullets from Naomi's Glock had entered him. Naomi lowered her gun and walked slowly up to the figure laying on the floor. The police officer had heard the gunshot and had came outside to see what had happened.

"Whats going on? I heard gunshots." The police officer ran over. He was moderately tall, yet very skinny for a police officer. Naomi looked at him then back at the body on the floor. Then the stunning realization hit her : she had killed Weegee.

"It's... all over. Weegee is gone." A big smile came to her face and to the policemans suprice, embraced him in a large hug. She let go and looked at the floor.

Weegee wasn't there.

Naomi's and the officer's eyes widened in shock and fear. Where could the body have gone? I'll tell you where: right behind the officer.

Weegee clutched the officer's legs and lifted him off the ground. He spun the officer three times before letting go of him. He flew into Naomi, and the collision sent them bouncing backwards into the side of a dumpster. Weegee wiped blood from his overalls, which were stained with a deep red hue.

Pathetic, the man in the gold mask thought to himself as he caught his breath.

Intricate illusions, devious traps, and a fierce battle of wits. Every outlet rendered unnecessary by his opponent’s own distractions. The ‘master’ assassin wouldn’t even have been able to muster a beginner’s defense against psychic intrusion. It would have been so easy to simply reach in switch ‘off’ his addled mind.

No matter, the old man’s distractions would make things more simple, but Chase was determined not to let something like that spoil his fun. The alchemist twirled the sword in his hand for a second, deciding how best to engage the enemy assassin.

“Old man, you should keep track of you toys,” he said, tossing the sword back to Slade. The second his opponent reached to catch flashing blade, Chase struck.
With a flash of light the glamer on his arm was dispelled to reveal his signature weapon, a clawed gauntlet made from the same golden material as his mask and wire. The younger looking man sent Slade flying with a brutal blow to the face and then caught the sword by the handle.

“Do you want it back? Pay attention,” He chided. He traced a small seal in the air and launched the sword through it with the intent to skewer his foe.

His foe had assumed the neatly broken in-two helmet held on only by how the pieces mounted into his armor had been new. And of course, to Bryan, it was quite obvious--Metal Man's watch was broken! It was displaying random times, shooting sparks. Heck, during that electrocution spree, it had gladly joined in with some weird energy of its own. It was as if it was separate from the Man of Steel's will; a nasty thing to have in a battle like this.

With a gaping hole and a bunch of electricity burns, holes everywhere, Metal Man knew this wasn't going to be good. As the moon reflected in his pools of blood he clenched a fist. Bryan saw it rise and assumed it would lead onto something just like before. He prepared his explosive attacks, lasers, what have you, to mercilessly counter this fiend's predictable environment-based moves.

The Metal Man stood up again, the gaping hole showcasing the moon behind him. And yet, it would become obvious the hole was not fully air--machinery as well as gruesome chunks of almost zombified looking flesh could be seen around the hole. Metal Man clutched his sounds, breathing heavily, mechanically. He sounded like an electrical tire pump by now--a high pitched, rattling noise. To his foe, this would clearly signify that he was near dead. That, as a predator, his prey would soon be his.

But there was always something wrong with those assumptions, when the foe was Metal Man, who stumble-walked towards Bryan, the world shifting and buckling strangely in his now red-hued vision. Machinery failing, batteries dying, warranties expiring, he didn't care. He was going to get this sonuvab#$%h for his little tricks. But with what?

There were no more gaping audience members to be used as aids, and despite the abundance of marketplaces and their accompanying throwable objects (fruit, bicycles, vegetables, even some nice big barrels) his arm servos wouldn't be able to keep that up enough to stop THIS foe. The one who always had an answer to everything he did.

Or did he?

A strange red energy began to surround Metal Man, lighting up his frame. The wounds... the pain... the holes... all began to be replaced by a buzzing and a light and airy feeling. Ominous techno drum n' bass music began to issue from his suit. His foe was not amused a bit by the display. Bryan powered up his electrical energy powers and snarled.

"What good is any of that going to do you? You're my target, and you're going to be killed!"

The impatient Bryan lashed out with another electric convulsion wave; although the lack of the helpful bracelet meant it wasn't as strong as before, it still hit Metal Man. Energy lit up his armor, and the Metal Man winced.

...But no pain came. As the electricity danced across his body, Metal Man clenched both his fists and walked directly towards the source of the energy. Bryan's eyes narrowed, as he muttered a curse. "Don't know when to die yet? Well I'll help you!" The user of nanites saw fit to throw a few more explosions Metal Man's way; he even tore another hole near the first one.

But Metal Man kept on coming. Bryan hurled several more punishing attacks; he stabbed, he kicked, he even pushed. The sounds of flesh and Bryan's enhanced metal alloys scraping armor echoed through the dusty, anti-freeze smelling marketplace. After what seemed to be an eternity, Metal Man stood before his attacker, as the moon behind him was covered by clouds.

Bryan swung a sword with a mighty resolve. "BEGONE!" He smashed Metal Man in the head; and it appeared he had decapitated this metallic demon, for the man of steel fell to his knees, and his not-new helmet clattered to the ground. There was a hushed silence as Bryan swung at where his foe's head should be--and hit nothing. After a moment Bryan sighed with relief. "Well... that was close."

Imagine his horror as a withered, wrinkly middle-aged man's head popped out of the armor, bearing the look of the grim reaper. He went to slash this new head off--but Metal Man lunged his left hand directly into the blade. Transfixed by his foe's hideous glare, Bryan could only watch for the split second the helmetless man spoke.

"Not this time!" Bryan felt the sword being broken in two--that was the first of the things this Metal Man did.

Careening about, glowing like a red Christmas tree, Metal Man smashed Bryan's stately face with a roundhouse right-hand punch. The jagged metal of his damaged metallic right hand would leave much more than bruises. Bryan shocked the Metal Man with more electricity for this and summoned another purple band, but this time Metal Man's left hand grabbed Bryan's right hand and, using inhuman cybernetic force, crushed it. The purple magic appeared for a second, shocking Metal Man some more, before it died, similarly crushed by the roving hand of death.

The moon's light had become hidden by a dark storm cloud; such that Metal Man's glowing red visage flew at Bryan's forehead. *KONK* The sound of Metal Man's reinforced skull shattering Bryan's face could be heard. As the swordsman stumbled backwards, the Metal Man trembled with hatred and rage. The red aura grew in energy as he bared his teeth.

Reflected in the windows all up and down the square was this hideous man-machine, leaning back for some kind of attack. The swordsman desperately hurled another line of explosions THROUGH Metal Man, but it didn't work--the man had become angrier than he had ever seen before. The pavement buckled as a hideous energy grew around the man of Steel's body.

"You wanted to dispose of me... you thought you could remove me... you... you... no. You... will..."

The raging voice of Metal Man once again picked up a hideous screen in its tone. But as Bryan turned to move away from the attack, it struck like the midnight bell.

"DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!"

The 'broken' watch reacted to the energy; suddenly it seemed as if the only background was that of endless blue energy. Metal Man ripped out that Soviet pistol... ...and fired. A dull thud was made as the bullet hit Bryan in the chest.

But Bryan was not especially bothered--it was only one bull--THUD. Only two bulle-THUD. THUDTHUDTHUDTHUDTHUD! Well, that was impressive. The man of steel had empited the gun so fast--but so what? Bryan moved to get his revenge and ran up towards the red glowing man, having seen the blue background and felt somewhat energized by it as well.

Then count it as quite the surprise when Metal Man hurled his trusty gun at Bryan so hard it embedded in his shoulder, throwing him partway backwards.

It dawned on Bryan. The predictable, weaker attacks... the refusal to use his time machine... it had all been a plan. And he had fallen right in it;

For by using all his powerful attacks like that, Bryan had lowered his overall reserve of energy. While the man before him had nearly an entire fight's worth of HIS energy... ...and was burning through it all at once, while Bryan was weaker and had taken more damage.

But before any more thoughts could come to Bryan, the Metal Man procured a trusty, 6-foot long bulky wrench, and then hurled it at Bryan. Bryan ducked; and good for him, because as a result, the normally lethal 10-hit combo it would cause instead thudded against Bryan 5-6 times, bruishing the bejeezus out of him, but not removing limbs or anything like that.

That would be up to whatever Metal Man did next. And did Metal Man ever bring out what was next! A faint outline appeared in the furious man's arms, then it materialized--the mythical deathmachine. Ripped off from Iron Man originally, this version was much different. It was composed of one large, jet-engine shaped barrel... filled with an unworldly array of guns inside it. Bryan made a leap for it--

The blue aura vanished and they were back in Merry Old England. Bryan felt his back become hot as molten lead. Suddenly, the building behind where he had been standing was hit, too--it turned bright orange, then violently exploded when the following missiles and bullets and projectiles the bazooka shot levelled it.

Bryan had only one sort of thought. Christ, that man's going to kill us all! The guttural rumble of an entire building falling and the following shockwave nearly ripped Bryan off his feet. He stumbled to the side as the smell of crushed bricks filled the dark air, and the fog of London rolled in, making things only more confusing.

The Metal Man's cold eyes scanned and he aimed the gun once more, speaking. "It is not out of hatred that I do this. For I lost hatred when I lost most of what made me human." He stepped forward. "But there is a special place of hell for anyone who breaks my helmet, you goddamn bastard!" Uh-oh.

The world turned bright orange for Bryan, as the second shot didn't miss. More appropriately, it engulfed Bryan in the burning energy beam. But all that did was stun him--long enough for the first array of cutting lasers and bullets to riddle his body until it was full of holes. Small but nasty holes.

Then things went red and black as Bryan's body was smashed into by grenades, bombs, cannonballs and missiles. But as if Metal Man had given Bryan some cruel mercy, the bombardment had stopped short. Bryan, thrown into a now half-collapsed building, wondered what had given him this mercy. Then he looked up and saw...

...A metallic outline in front of the moon...

...falling straight at him, fist-first...

...and the debris had pinned him right under this.

The residents didn't know it at first. But the 3.0 Earthquake that had unexpectedly occurred at 3 AM was sure to wake them up. Looking out their windows, they would see... a spire of orange energy, bricks, and debris.

At the marketplace, all the windows had been broken; a massive crater was all that remained where Metal Man's massive crashing attack had occurred. At the bottom of it was Bryan, who now had all manner of objects deeply embedded in his body, not to mention still being pinned by even more rubble. The ground had been immensely compacted as well. The pit was aflame and it was only by the great training the swordsman had that he hadn't been blown into many disparate fragments.

But then again, he had wondered where his right arm had gone.

As if to answer the question he didn't want answered, Metal Man's now wraith-like, half-disarmored form crept out, clutching the miserable thing. He stood over Bryan, cruelly crushing one of the swordsman's left ankles with his foot. "So... maybe next time... you'll learn not to break my helmet. Because otherwise... you could have won."

With a petty flourish, the Metal Man stabbed Bryan's own arm deep into its owner's body, about dead center.

Then he fell over backwards, having exhausted almost all of his energy. The guttural breathing slowed...

...As whatever was left of Bryan's sentience might realize the foolish armored man had left himself quite open to attack. Now if only he wasn't pinned under rubble, impaled by his right arm, and not studded with glass bottle fragments, not to mention bleeding like a bad anime villain.

And peering over the crater was the lit up face of the Coachman, who cackled and spoke in his sly way. "Oh, what do we have here... tsk tsk tsk! You really shouldn't have broken his helmet. He's allowed lesser people kill him when they respected that. I guess you couldn't have known, because this Metal Man is a secretive fellow... ...but now it's a little too late, isn't it?" The Coachman began writing something down. "Of course, I am quite sure you will heroically bust free and slaughter that half-dead man. They always do! And, I would be quite proud of you to do so, because, frankly, we can't have this Time Madman running around, killing everyone we send at him. Oh yes... I know. You probably weren't sent by us directly. That's the beauty of our extended network. Infinite phone calls, and the occasional out-of-dimension hitmen."

He cackled and chucked a bit of paper down at Bryan. "Of course, win or lose, you've done a great job. Perhaps I will hire you again--since you are such a nice fighter."

Gasping in the gulch of his own creation, Metal Man grated his own response at the Coachman. "Stay out of this, infernal annoyance. This is nothing to do with you. He chose to... *cough* *hack*"

Metal Man's voice failed under a whirlwind of coughing up blood. The Coachman laughed merrily. "He chose to fight you? Well, yes, in a way. We can never quite force anyone to do so, since you always convert those ones to your side. But that's irrelevant to the facts--you're both half dead and it's in my interest to see you finished, Metal Man." The Coachman tossed Bryan his sword, which was now a half-broken stub, but still sharp and deadly. "C'mon. Kill that windbag. Then we can split the profits! Think of it, Bryan--your own country or dimension to have for yourself. And all you have to do is what you came here to do in the first place!"

Metal Man gave no response--his even more elderly looking, wrinkled features seemingly had withered from the exertion. The pale glow of the hellfire in the 10-foot-deep crater had made it appear like they were condemned souls...

And that man on the edge was beginning to remind Bryan of a certain figure who kept stealing souls...

[OoC:]Its a few minutes past midnight here while I'm posting this(a few minutes being a half our due to bad internet plus crappy laptop}, so I hope its not too late to put in the ending. If so, then just count it as nothing, but a character development moment that I did for fun.[/OoC]

Bryan's skin glowed with the reflection of the fire around them, his long, brown, spike spiegel- esque hair blowing in the wind, along with the long black and blue collar of his vest. His siler crucifix was glowing in the fire light. He was in more pain than he had been in years. He was certain that if he didn't do something, and fast, he was going to die. Surviving was the number one objective now. On top of all the injuries he had had, he was now filled with gunshot wounds, pinned down by debris, and had one arm not only taken off, but also lodged into him. Any normal human would've been dead, but luckily Bryan was never normal. Even before he ever recieved his inter dimensional powers, it had always been hard for him to bleed, little did he know all those years ago just how much that would come in handy. Metal Man was also in pretty bad shape, Blood and oil still pouring from the gaping holes in his chest. The bits of Metal Man's armor that weren't blackened, were reflecting the orange glow of the fires around them. Metal Man's breaths were deep, and had long pauses between them. Each one was like a gravelly sigh. He was down on his knees, weakened by the fight. He didn't seem to be paying attention to the rambleings of the coachman, rather seemed almost distracted, or if he did hear them, he didn't seem to give off any reaction because of them.

Bryan was annoyed with the elderly looking man. He expected Bryan to get up and finish Metal Man. Even if he did even have the energy, Bryan couldn't stand it when someone thought that they were better than him, and thought that because they were over him, that they could give him orders.

The man tossed Bryan's sword to him, and told him that if h just finished off Metal MAn that he could have unimaginable riches.

Bryan: Nope.

Coachman:...Hmm?

Bryan: Nope, don't need it . I've gained and lost my fair share of riches, now I just don't bother with it anymore.

Coachman: Bryan! Think about this. Think about what you could have!

Bryan: No! Besides, even if I could get up to kill him now, it wouldn't be right killing someone who can't - Ah!

He winced in pain

Bryan: Defend themselves! Even if they did shoot me, cut off my arm, and so forth!

Bryan was showing an amazing resistance to the pain. He had sustained worse before, actually he had even sustained death a few times, but each of those times he had survived due to (or had been revived) his nanobots, if only he hadn't gotten rid of them!

Bryan looked over to where Metal Man should be, and seemed to notice something. He looked back at the elderly man and said,

Bryan: Hey Why don't you just finish him off yourself!?

Coachman: Please, you're too low for me to get my hands dirty over. Isn't that right Metal Man?!

He looked over, only to see that metal man was, gone, a small ripple in the space where he was was all that was left.

Coachman: No! I-

He looked back to where Bryan should've been, but only saw the faint sight of him slipping into one of his portals, then having it disappear into thin air. Nothing was left, but his arm that had been pulled out, it layed there on the ground, a puddle of blood coming from it.

Coachman: What?! ...No matter.
He said sounding a bit irritated.

Coachman: ...We'll get him soon enough...

Back in the "Interdimensional hall"... Bryan dragged himself to the brown side table, with his good arm. Grunting in pain with each movement. Thebrightly colored walls were a sight for sore eyes. As he got to the table, he found a wide flat silver cylinder, and while holding it in his only hand left, flung his arm like dead weight, and pounded the cylinder on to his chest. It stuck quite easily.

At that momment a familiar rippling effect occured, emanating from the cylinder, and covering Bryan's whole body. The bullets in his chest seemed to be pushed out by his body, each falling to the ground one by one, with a "kling". The wounds they came from seemed to almost seal themselves up. Bryan's leg's stopped hurting, as the cracking sound of brocken bones being repaired could be heard. Then, the best thing Bryan could hope to see, his arm began growing bit by bit, It would probably take at least a few hours for it to fully regrow, it was taken off at the shoulder after all. The nanobots woked Perfectly, Bryan felt his strength coming back quite quickly...

Sat in the nearly empty room, staring at the ground, just staring, and thinking... Who was Metal Man? Who was the strange elderly gentleman? What was their connection to him, or if they even had a connection to him? Would he ever meet one of those two again? Most importantly though, what did the guy mean by not bringing him in directly? Bryan was alone here, right? Save for the occasional trespassder, guest, and the interdimensional beasties that he had encountered from time to time, he was alone. Right?...

Bryan grabbed his crucifix necklace.

Bryan: Well at least this didn't come off during the fight. I mean with that bright moon out, I wanted too badly, but it would've been bad for everyone...

He sat there, staring at the floor, thinking, and thinking, and thinking......

[OoC] Hope that was decent. :D [/OoC:]

The already wild and unruly mess of hair on Acradius' head stood on end as the current traveled through his armor and through his skin. Every muscle in his body froze rigid as the commands coming across his nervous system switched from a string of ones and zeros to a string of just ones. Gravity took hold then, and the Time Warrior fell stiffly to his knees just as soon as they would bend for him. With that much voltage going through his system, the only thought he had was to get away from the source of it. After regaining partial control of his body, he shoved himself backwards using his legs and landed awkwardly on his rear end, a good few feet away.

He stood up, his body still convulsing a bit. It was obvious that he had to change patterns. The Elue ring on his right middle finger flared to a neon cerulean life as he leveled it at Kyle. The kid was smart enough to recognize a threat when posed at him, and immediately prepared to vamoose out of the way. Giving a smirk of his own this time, Acradius launched into a full-auto volley of bright blue energy. Kyle had either quite a bit of talent, luck, or just plain old grit and agility, because he did manage to dodge the brunt of the attack. The few small shots that hit him, however, burned holes in whatever wasn't armored and seared the flesh beneath like eldritch fire. What was armored was blackened in spots, and sizzled as the metal cooled in the freezing temperature.

All in all, it was an amazing effort from the youth with the white hair. But he missed the key shot: the one that came from behind him. It was far more powerful than any of the others, and the igneous heat turned the skin under his still in-tact armor into a bloody mess all over his back. Blasted to the ground, the kid looked towards the direction of his unknown assailant. It was, of course, Acradius Journeyman. But wait, Acradius Journeyman, the man who still had his strange ring leveled at him, was over there. And over there as well?

"You must be confused kid. Never dealt with a Time Warrior before?" The overconfident half-grin spread across the Time Warrior's face, his eyes lighting up with the satisfaction that he would never run out of cards up his sleeve. "Let me spell it out for you. That handsome devil over there is me, who will, about ten minutes from now, after I kick your sorry demon ass through the streets of this village, travel back in time and give himself a hand." The half grin split into a full-on, predatory grin. "Know what that means, kid? It means you've got no chance. I have, in all senses of the phrase, already won."

OOC: Heh. May as well give a slight epilogue of my own. Bryan did most of the stuff for mine for me though, that mind-reader he was, so here's the leftover pieces.

He had been laying there, half-dead. He had wanted to see Bryan dead, too. The man of steel stared in the flickering light as the Coachman had basically given him his death sentence. But the executioner was unwilling. Thinking he had once again outsmarted them both (yes, even Bryan), he switched his watch to another time, and then... vanished.

As he flew through time and space, his features regenerated. The watch did it. The watch always did it. Why? He hadn't the faintest clue. He stared at it as images of his fight flew around him. He re-looked at Bryan and bent his jaw at it.

"Well if that wasn't the weirdest foe I ever fought. Not a psycho. Not a bounty hunter. Not a moron. Some sort of time traveler like myself."

He pressed a button and stopped for a moment, walking around a still image of Bryan. Like an artist appreciating another painter's work, he stared, and shrugged. "I thought they stopped making this model years ago." He coughed and shook his head. "No, it's new... ...but clearly of the old inspiration."

He resumed the mindless warp through realities, passing a fat man in a giant spider mech. He waved to him--the King Porky was a fellow insane time traveler. Only that spoiled man had ties to something called 'Giygas' so no one messed with him. Pity. Metal Man's bitter memories of his attempts to find his own 'Giygas' so as to be left alone echoed.

Images of red eyes and mouth on a black smokey silhouette of a man appeared in the travel. He stared at those and shook his head. "The boogeyman doesn't give out favors. That Pokey man... that Porky man... he sold his soul. And I would too--if I had one." He shook his head, moving across time and place. Eventually he flew past... ...and saw the Coachman's face from the side of his time-bending bubble.

"...Well I'll be. That sonuvab#$ch didn't turn me in." It would be left as an exercise to the viewer how he knew, but it was all the same to Metal Man, who gave a mocking gesture to the statuesque time imprint and moved on through time. And up ahead was a junction.

"Well, maybe not everyone I fight is evil. But then I am conflicted... why am I still running?" He put a hand to his chin. Deep thoughts would have to wait, as the phantom image of a subway terminal appeared. "Not again."

He mumbled and flew through a wall of tiles, and took a left turn.

The camera, incapable of following him, falls over and lands in some Roman beach, and fades out from the ocean hitting it; the lost subway tile being found some ancient Romans who stare at the dying camera and proclaim "Another of Zeus' mysterious works has arrived!"

The sound and picture went to hell and with that... nobody could tell where Metal Man fell next.

I believe this is going to be it...

By now, Amrick's grip on Concierto was sure to have left dents in the golden space metal: the sheer irritation he was feeling over this anomaly he had been sent to deal with was accumulating at a frighteningly fast pace, taking hold of Amrick's judgment and trying to crush it, beat it down the ground, squeeze it, punch it, kick it, shove it, what have you. It was not pretty. It was not proper. The magic knight did not expect something like this at all-- a mustache that dislodged and transformed into a beast? He was starting to think that the forces behind creation were running out of ideas.

But truthfully, that was the least of his worries as the thing grabbed him and sent him flying into the cool night air. And it could fly as well? Yep, they were definitely running out of ideas.

The silver-haired man extended his artifact staff to his right side as he shoved his left into the furry thing's arm, causing it to grunt and the Blue Toad to laugh at how futile the magic knight's efforts were to shake himself off the thing. Then, from his right hand and the golden staff in it, he jerked the artifact outwards in a quick motion, causing the staff to shrink and coil back out forcefully, striking the beast's other arm with surprising force. Grunting louder, it began to swing Amrick around and squeezing him tighter, and Amrick repeated the same tactic again-- this time, the force of the impact caused by the extending staff was so strong that the creature's arm got numb for a moment, offering the knight the perfect chance to loosen his grip on it. Whacking the eyes of the thing with the crescent tip in one swing, the mustache let him go for a moment, which was just what Amrick needed.

"Hrgh... You irritating piece of-- I should've hit you with something stronger to begin with, you annoying little brat!" he forced the words as two small magic circles appeared below his feet to support him in flight-- truly, he wouldn't be much of a magic user without the ability of flight, now would he? "Concierto! Lend me your strength!" he shouted, maybe a bit heroically, to which the ruby orb core replied with the words 'YES SIR. AXE MODE.' Shell after shell began to pump into the weapon, renewing the energy that flowed through the magic knight's body, and transfiguring the whole staff into a medium-sized, two-bladed energy axe. The artifact crackled with new sparks, menacing in appearance and lighter than it appeared to its owner. "Blue Toad! In the name of the Time Space Administration Bureau, your head is mine!"

He raised the axe with both hands, trembling and pointing at the might mustache and the Toad that looked, perhaps a little transfixed or curious, at the fancy guy with the shiny weapon. The artifact axe's core, now in the center of both energy blades linked together, spelled out 'Lost Encore: Echo Tuning', and at this motion, the axe blades began to vibrate very clearly, yet very quietly, creating a wavy effect in their immediate area. Just as quickly, the weapon once again formed more words: 'Lost Encore: Multiple Shadow Quartet', and after this command, an explosion of clear red energy surrounded Amrick, shaking the mustache just a few feet away from him. Once the dust was cleared mere seconds later, there wasn't just one magic knight left behind: there were four of them, all identically grasping their energy axes and staring at the Blue Toad from all four sides.

"NOWOW IS THE TITIMEME WHEN YOUYOU DIEDIEDIEDIE!! the copies yelled in unison. They reared back their axes... and moved in.

Gonna go ahead and cut this in about an hour, I have somewhere I have to be at 6:00. I'm not cutting it now as there may be somebody who had planned their post around the original deadline, and I want to give them a fair chance to post first.

Naomi bounced back against the dumpster, but braced for impact. She put her left hand out behind her, trying to catch herself and did, but sprained it in the process. At least she didn't break her back, she thought, as she gripped her gun with anger.

She jumped into the half full dumpster for cover and left the unconscious man who was thrown at her. She closed the lid mostly, and took careful but quick aim, firing three more shots from a gap between the dumpster and the lid.

The enemy was quick, seemingly dodging them all by way of gaint backflips. It almost seemed as if he weren't even close to death from the previous shots, which boggled her mind. However, it seemed one of the latter shots may have hit, as his final backflip landed sloppily...hopefully it didn't just hit his leg, which may well have been the case.

Deathstroke slammed into the ground, sending rocks flying. His mask loosened ever slightly, although not enough to show the face of the assassin. No matter, as the mask was actually the MOST of his worries at this point. Slade had the perfect weapon ready. A weapon of wit, a weapon of the mind...

A weapon of irony.

Deathstroke quickly flipped to his feet, hardly affected by the blow of the alchemist. "Calling me an old man... I should warn you. I have killed for less. Besides, determining yourself to be a better fighter than I due to age is perhaps one of the greatest mistakes one could make. After all, age makes for experience." Deathstroke then wagged his finger at his gold-clad opponent. "Let me tell you, if having a gauntlet strike me is the worst that has happened to me in my entire life, I'd have eliminated the Titans years ago."

Slade gripped the bullet belt latched on his chest. "Now, shall I?" He proceeded to rip off the belt.

"What are you going to do, whip me to death?" Chase asked with a slightly sarcastic tone. He flinched very slightly when he did see the belt coming at him, but noticed it was flying at him. He also spotted Slade throwing a rock towards the belt along with one of his knives, slamming together as the two started to pass over the belt. The result was a harmless spark.

Wait, a belt full of gunpowder and a spark... It was too late. The resulting effect was an explosion with as much power as a grenade. The alchemist did not expect something this odd. After all, it was a sacrifice of his bullets. But it mattered not, the deed was already done. The explosion had sent the golden masked man flying back, scorched by the explosion, tossed to the ground by the force. He lost his grip on Deathstroke's sword and dropped it, the blade flying to the side. Deathstroke sprinted towards the lost blade and immediatly reattached the sheath to his body. He would use the sword, but not now. For now...

"I can hear the ground, young man. I hear it screaming for blood."
