Hurrrr, you wanna know why MMO's require a fee in most cases?

They are consistantly updated, which requires game dev's to constantly be devolping for that game, which is money and time consuming, doesn't take a genius to know that they'll need funding for said case.

When you play an MMO, you're playing for a game that is constantly evolving, I'd play an MMO, over a game that ends at a certain point anyday.

^MMOFPSes are different.

Think more like EverQuest or World of Warcraft that do stuff like add new classes, fix issues, add new dungeons and zomes...where're the new classes in Team Fortress 2?

I was refering to MMORPGs, updating an MMOFPS requires alot less effort on the devolpers part, making it easier to work it all, plus, MMOFPS major updates are no where NEAR the scale of a major MMORPG update.

CSM: Never mind that, let me speak to your manager.

Jamie: Okay, one sec, please hole

Jamie: Umm... Roy? CSM from VGF is on the phone for you. I think it's important.

Roy: VGF? You mean the Virginian Goat Farmers?

Jamie: I'm not sure... I didn't ask what he was looking for but I think he means business.

Roy: Fine. Hurry. Give me the damn phone already.

I don't play MMOs because I'm a cheap bastard. I'm sure I'd like WoW if I played it, but I honestly don't have the money or time to do it. That's also why I don't have a 360 yet, because I'm going to want Live as soon as I get it, but I don't have anything in my pockets.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

It's fully possible to have a 360 without live - I'm not touching live with a ski pole unless I can download a game from it.

^ I know, but Live is one of the reasons I want a 360. I honestly don't think I'll want a 360 as much if I can't play me some CoD or Halo online.

Personally, these MMOs are a waste of time, because you can just buy a game like TF2 and get support practically forever for no money.

Meanwhile, in the old days I played PSO and paid for it every month--and ultimately they failed to quash cheaters OR update much of anything. Indeed, TF2 got updated more now than PSO ever was in its entire lifespan.

That said, for the FF MMO people this must be great.

what? TF2 isn't an mmofps, 24 players isn't "massively multiplayer". And it still gets constant support. And you don't need literally everything to be updated just a have constant support. TF2 is designed to have 9 classes and adding a tenth one will dramtically change the balance of everything. Not to mention adding diffirent weapons to classes mostly defined by the weapons they have is a rather signifgant change to the class and drastically changes how you play... almost like a new class. woa.

So yes, update changes the balance of things quite drastically

I wonder if you can transfer your character or get some kind of bonus from your FF11 game? That'd be pretty cool.

I've just downloaded a trailer from the PSN. (As well as one for XIII, and nearly brought and Downloaded VII too. (I'm thinking if I buy that, then they might add VIII and IX))

Sadily it doesn't show much. (XIII was pretty tho)

A new class implies something DIFFERENT and not just trying to make it so that people will actually play a scout. The only thing that really feels different is that the huntsman gives the sniper an actual reason to be on a few maps.

For the record, I have nothing against MMORPGs. I'm sure they're fine games. I just don't have the time to play them, nor would I want to spend the money on them.

I disapprove of FF11 and FF14 purely for the simple reason that they shouldn't have been named into the main series of FF games. Call them something else, dammit.

A purely nonsense reason, but my reason nonetheless.

Then was there an actual reason to play him on a deathmatch server?

Agreed. So to the point that I there's no FFXI for me(as X-2 doesn't really count), so my series ends at X, and starts up again with CC. I did enjoy it(albeit it's an offline version of your MMO(and a LOT less characters)). Playing with over 8 people total is just way too much. There's no balance, or even fun in it. Too many people try to screw with you. If I want to try XI, I'd have to pay way too much because there's no offline mode(which I would obviously have seperate from online in every way) to even practice. Such a waste of time for me(and money, possibly).
What's the matter, scared?
