245. Be about an unconventional subject, like, how Earthbound takes place in modern-ish times. We've never had a real caveman RPG, have we? :p

248 There is more then one party of heros and while they are working for the same goal they are not above elimitating the others for extra glory.

Wouldn't FFIV-FFVI count as somewhat steampunk like?

^^ Disgaea?

250. Towns that sell merchandise that actually makes sense based upon their geographical location. A desert oasis town might sell clay items or artifacts, and would NOT have a large stock of thick juicy steak. Similarly, a mountainous area would be more likely to sell things related to travel. Heck, the equipment could be things based upon the area as well-- hiking boots in a mountain area, a vine-cutting blade in a jungle, etc.

251. Collections of items would be unpredictable in their number. No 7 chaos emeralds, dragon balls, etc...

^^^That is actually somewhat common. They just don't always sell exclusively items that make sense.

^^ Again, happens quite a bit. Usually you'll face enemies your own size with massive HP and attack. Usually as one of the final bosses. Unless they TRANSFORRRRRM.

256. Women do not walk around half naked alongside men who cover up as much of their body as possible and somehow take half damage and are immune to desert heat and arctic cold.

257. Archers are not extremely thin or overly endowed and actually have muscle.

258. Mages actually say that magic burns a lot of calories and that's why they are thin.

259. You are actually the hero and not the hero's errand boy like in say...Elder Scrolls?

260. It is set within a continent that is NOT based off of:
-The British Isles
-Japan
-China
-Korea
-Western Europe

261. African civilizations are just as advanced as any European, Middle Eastern, or asian-based civilization.

262. Native and Meso-Americans are featured and when they are in such close proximity to advanced civilizations, are likewise near as advanced.

263. Asian places are based specifically off of areas like Vietnam, Mongolia, or the Phillipines in addition to the obligatory Yamato or china or Korean-based region.

264. Not all boomerangs come back.

265. Dwarves do not speak with Scottish, Irish, or Russian accents or are obsessed with Alcoholic beverages.

266. european-based humans do not abuse the letter "Y" as a vowel or are Welsh.

267. Elves do not live in a forest because they love nature.

268. Elves are not self-centered-stuck-up-snobs-who-think-they're-better-than-everybody-else and that's why they live in a nature-worshipping forest away from everybody else.

269. Elves are not Asian or Eastern-European based.

270. Orcs are not primitive "Me ask you question"-warrior types and are actually smart.

271. Turn-based combat rewards you for thinking ahead.

272. The church is not 100% corrupted or spreading lies.

273. Native American and meso-american based demons show up.

274. Monster increase is NOT treated as a sign of the apocalypse without feasible explanation. (Eg the monsters come from mist)

275. If characters are aligned with a certain element, the hero is NOT aligned with fire or wind.

276. If the characters are aligned with a certain element, The heal-bot element is NOT water.

278. If the characters are aligned with a certain element, Earth is NOT given the shaft, limited to just earthquakes, or given to the tank who rarely uses it in favour of physical attacks because his magic stat sucks.

279. If the characters are aligned with a certain element, Wind is actually defensive as well.

280. If the characters are aligned with Taoist Elements and therefore have Water Fire Earth Wood and Metal, Metal is NOT assigned to the melees.

281. Mages say that they "invent" spells to explain how they can learn new ones upon leveling up or investing enough points in the skills.

282. If the hero is given a default "job", then they are NOT a swordsman or samurai. No sword. Period. NO. SWORD.

283. Staves can actually deal damage.
(Final Fantasy tactics A2 does this, since the Master Monk class is based on offensive staves and tonfas)

284. Archers can actually smack you with a bow or attack when you're too close instead of just standing there going "DUUUUUUUUURRRRRR...." while you beat 'em up with an axe.

285. The hero is actually a pugilist who fights unarmed, a mage, a lancer, or in general anything but a sword user.
(Done in some games - Senel and Yuri fight unarmed)

286. Royalty actually DOES something. Bonus points if they are something like a researcher.

287. When you are given a choice between differing paths, they are NOT just "Good or evil". Instead they can be viewed as "good" or "evil" from either way.

288. Good is not "Why I'm quite good! I MUST MAINTAIN IT ALL!" while evil is NOT "DURRRRR I'M EVIL!" and is just about murdering people.

289. When you have to take paths, they do not go in a completely different direction and may actually end up at the same place. (notice that Tactics Ogre and Knight of Lodis did this.)

290. A Zagi-like subvillain is featured.

291. Darkness is actually not 100% evil and light is not 100% good as Rose and Mithos Yggdrasil should have taught you otherwise by now.

292. Women can actually fight just as well as men and men can actually be the "healbot" role. (Mary Argent, Farah Oersted, Keele Ziebel and Hisui Hearts, anyone?)

293. Princesses are not healbots.

I meant a large character that does not have massive health or attack. One of my first ones covered human characters that have massive health and attack for no reason.

294. The hero fights simply because he is bored, and has no interest in saving anything from anyone.

Yet somebody took over 100 earlier on in this thread and that's okay?

295. A default player character is *gasp* female!!! And isn't eye candy.

296. Or they are actually canonically female.

How about a healer who's not aligned with Light?

Auron, Golden Sun is a subversion.

297. Hey how about instead of a Dark Priest being pure offense...what if that dark priest was dark in that they worship a benevolent diety of DARKNESS and therefore actually *gasp* HEAL AND BUFF USING DARKNESS?!?!

no offense to anyone, but the "that was done in ____" posts are annoying.

Also Ian, Chunky took 100+ by just linking to a list someone else made. Where have you been?

298.) Every npc looks different from each other. Unless they are related to each other, in which they has resemblance.
