Battle on the cliffs, the war on tragedy continues...

Timing was everything. Waiting until the precise, perfect moment when everything can possibly come together in exactly the way intended. In this case, it was a matter of milliseconds that the blond man had. He had already seen the scenario play out without his intervention. Blood spilled, love lost; the cycle of pain continuing unending, like the serpent Ouroboros. When he had seen it the first time, he was an inferno of righteous fury, ready to extract vengeance upon the offender in the most brutal and sadistic ways possible. But that inkling of common sense in the man's head told him that it wouldn't fix the problem. And so, he put that rage to use. He planned, he plotted, and he calculated. He had it down to the millisecond. And to a man who controls time, waiting was almost as infuriating.

Finally, he heard those three magical words. They always mean something different, every time they're spoken, but this time they represented years of pent up emotion, desire, sacrifice and torture. The girl had been waiting practically her whole life to say those words, and when they came out, it was more beautiful than the chorus of angels singing a single, synchronous note. But he had best not be distracted too much. Acradius had exactly three seconds.

One.

He thrust his two forefingers into the air, and dragged them down, causing the fabric of reality to part in front of him. As the blinding white tendrils of the space between spaces enveloped him, he was gone.

Two.

In a brief flash of that same white light, he appeared on a stone table. Six chairs surrounded it, and two people looked up, startled. One was a beautiful woman in a black and red robe. She had a paper flower in her hair. She didn't matter. Not in the slightest. The one the Time Warrior was gunning for was a sickly man, with long black hair, and eyes that looked like the ripples of a single drop in a still pond. No time for pleasantries.

He entered the Time Boost. He launched himself across the table. In the slowest of slow motions, he could see the girl out of the corner of his eye. She began to unfold, as though made of paper herself. She still didn't matter. In a single motion, perfected by ages of practice and fueled with a blazing sun's worth of hatred, the mighty Quantum was slid cleanly from its sheath. The shining silver blade bit directly into the black-haired man's neck, and as the first few droplets of crimson came out the wound, the metal came out the other side. It was over on this end.

Three.

A technique that had never been seen before except by its own creator tore through the corpse before her. Of course, she didn't know it was a corpse. She had just saved the life of the man she loved. She had just saved countless people from the tragedy that almost certainly would have befallen them. She, the meek one, always hiding behind something was now a hero.

Acradius stood atop a monument and smiled as a sculptor would in completing a masterpiece. The five stone faces below him were filled with people. To them, this would only be rumor and speculation. The reality that they had to deal with was one of rebuilding and gawking in wonder at the signs of battle. To them, the blossoming romance would be a mystery. One nice surprise, and a feeling of knowing that they could leave the future to their children now.

Turning from the cliff's edge, the man in the half-plate armor simply walked away. Their fight wasn't over, but for now, it was a job well done.

OOC: Is this basicly another one of those "Everyone come at me" matches? Because then I'll participate. I'm wanting to try out my new character.

OOC: Not necessarily. I'm being vague on the rules because I really don't have anything in particular in mind. I'll roll with the proverbial punches, so go with whatever. ;)

Within the empty hollows, where a town had once stood, something lurked. The stench of corpses and the reek of the injured seemed like a home to a shadow that lurked deep within the recesses of the rocks. The figure slunk with ease through the narrow crevices, ignoring the life that stirred nearby, until the figure was beside the cliff, hidden in the shadows, hidden from the sun.

Ink black eyes scoured the landscape, empty, yet filled with so much, seeing so much, and hiding that much more. The turn of the eyelids was the only indication that any emotion was spilling from those black orbs, currently depicting boredom, irritation... Perhaps an itch, waiting to be scratched.

A smile twitched upon the thin lips of the off-colour creature, as she shuffled into a comfortable position. She reached into a gauntlet and rubbed at her arm as she settled down, looking up with a more curious sparkle to her now. She could sense tension rising. She could sense things stirring. That which she had seen here already was nothing compared to that she had seen in her long, unending life. The main attraction was just starting. And she was out of practice.

As she sat amidst the debris, she wondered what kind of terrors had surfaced since her confinement. She wanted something to gauge against. Something to really pique her attention. She wanted to scratch the itch.

Well protected, although not entirely well hidden, the blue-tinted creature watched and waited.

She wanted a show to end all shows.

OOC: I'm not prepared to jump in at the mo. But I'd like to see where this leads. Also, I get this feeling I know where you are but I'm happy to keep my descriptions as vague as possible whether I'm right or wrong.
