The four of you start walking. A group of the mercenaries approach, there's about eight of them and they're armed. Three with swords, one with a mace, two with bows, one with a staff, and one unarmed.

Zelos says "There's four more behind us. Two have spears, one has a bow and is aiming it at Albert. I've cast a protective barrier around us, which should stop their initial attacks. The final one is wielding a nasty looking pole axe, with a spear on the bottom end.

The man with the mace says "It was a mistake not joining us. By now the other groups who didn't are dead. Did you really think we would let you live?

One of the men with a bow looks around at the four of you confused and says "Weren't there six of them?"

The man with the mace responds "Who cares? We'll kill them after we kill these four."

I can probably take out four of them before they can respond. If I'm not mistaken, Rusty and Davos are close by and can probably each take one out quickly as well. I could teleport us away, but without knowing where Davos and Rusty are, I can't take them with us. What do you say"

I'm guessing the 8 people are in front of us and blocking our path? Hmm, alright.


Take out the four behind us then if you can; but try and hold onto some energy incase we need a quick escape out of here. Hit them as soon as you can.

200AP on Control Earth, using my axe to focus. I'll use it to shake the ground under the 8 mercenaries to knock them over. Possibly break or make the ground uneven too so they'll have a harder time recovering and attacking.

(Also, I'm curious on how much MP I would use for stuff like this. Will you just take away an amount or should I say how much I want to use with each time? If so, I'll probably use a lot, but keep enough to do something similar once or twice more.)

The four behind us have been taken care of.

The ground beneath the mercenaries in front of you begins to shake, and cracks start to form. However, the staff user begins to chant and holds his staff at you. You can feel your energy being distorted and the effects of your quake die down before it really has any effect.

(You only lose 27MP since your spell was negated before you cast it to full effect)

Albert fires a shot at the enemy spell caster, but it goes wide. Now that the ground is no longer shaking, the three sword wielders, plus the spear and mace wielders begin to approach. Alan steps forward, sword and shield drawn.

An arrow sticks into the wrist of one of the enemy archers. He yells in pain and drops his bow. He's no longer able to hold his weapon and is bleeding badly, so he starts running off. The other enemy archer turns towards the enemy fire and faces off with Davos who just showed up. The enemy spellcaster decides to help him, since one of the archers is down and out of the fight.

I'll assist Zelos against the spell caster. He teleports over to Davos.

Alan, Albert and you face off against five men. Three swordsmen, a spearman and a maceman. The five of them spread out, with a swordsman in the middle, the spearman and maceman flanking him, and a swordsman on the outside. They're spread about 5 feet apart and are moving to encircle the three of you. Alan is about three feet in front of you, while Albert is moving left and backwords to keep some distance between him and the enemy.

Going to assume thats a mistake and that Zelos is helping Davos instead of himself.

Aggressive Stance. 50AP to movement, and 150 to attacking whatever enemy is closest.

You rush towards the maceman.
The 1st Swordsman and the macemen move to flank you.
You swing at the maceman as he lifts his mace to attack.
Your attack is faster. Your axe cleaves into his stomach (250 damage)
The maceman falls to the ground, unconcious and dying.
The swordsman makes a thrust attack and you move to swing your axe.
Your axe cleaves through his left shoulder as he thrusts his sword at your torso. It doesn't fully penetrate through your chain shirt, but the tip does poke into you. (20 damage)
Your axe tears through his shoulder, ripping skin apart and causing massive bleeding. 250 damage)
He slumps to the ground unconcious.

The spearman and other two swordsman move towards Alan.
Albert aims at the spearman.
Alan takes a ready stance, shield in front and sword raised and stands his ground.
The two swordsman flank Alan.
The spearman moves into range and thrusts.
Alan deflects it aside with his shield.
Albert fires at the spearman. He misses.
1st swordsman swings at Alan.
Alan blocks it with his shield and counters with a thrust.
His sword digs into 1st swordsman's off hand arm (90 damage)
1st swordsman backs away.
Albert aims at the 1st swordsman.
2nd swordsman swings at Alan.
Alan parries the swing.
The spearman thrusts at Alan.
His spear scrapes along Alan's side beneath his arm. (40 damage)
Albert fires at the 1st swordsman.
His arrow hits dead center between the eyes, into the brain. The 1st swordsman dies instantly.

You're not sure what's going on between Zelos, Davos and their opponents, so I won't cover that.

Second round. Take yours stance and split your AP.

So, I hit the other swordsman in the shoulder... Did that do anything or was it just for flavor?

...Not that it matters really. Just wondering.

Keeping with Aggressive Stance, 150 to combat and 50 to movement. Take out this swordsman then head back to the others and beat up more enemies if I can.

Yeah, lol I meant that attack was supposed to finish him. Jeez, I need to edit my posts better.

You can split your AP towards the next round of combat, and join the fight between Alan, Albert and the other three opponents.

I'll do... the exact same thing I was going to do. Run up to the other enemies and attack them. 50AP move, 150 attack, aggressive stance.

Eh, let them go. Check up on Zelos and Davos, if they haven't taken out the mage and archer against them then lend a hand.

Could it possibly be a word count thing? I can't tell how much you wrote, or if that even makes much a difference; but you generally write a lot and in your Test topic with only a sentence it worked just fine. ...I'd try breaking up your opening post into a few of them, and then if that doesn't work ask someone who knows more about what they're doing if you haven't already. :/

Zelos "I can keep an eye, using magic, for Rusty while we make our way for Crossroads."

The five of you minus Rusty make your way towards Crossroads, jogging at a good pace so you don't get too tired but aren't going too slow.

There are no signs of any pursuit, but no signs of Rusty either. Even Zelos who was keeping a magical eye out for Rusty can't seem to find him.

Apparently changing the title worked for some reason. I have no idea why the forum doesn't like any form of World's strongest or finest battle league. Weird.

It's about three days at the speed the caravan was going till crossroads. You could do it in about a day and a half if you pushed yourselves and only stopped to rest the minimum.

What pace do you want to go?
