The full nominations for Game of the Year at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards have been revealed by Future Publishing, and there’s plenty of PS5 representation in the list, including platformer Astro Bot.

You can see the full list below.

Satisfactory
Astro Bot
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Metaphor: ReFantazio
Animal Well
Balatro
Tekken 8
Helldivers 2
Black Myth: Wukong
I can't believe it's already time for Game of the Year discussion, but it is!

I'm almost always baffled by the games that win, but this year even the nominees are dreadful. I mean, they're seriously nominating Silent Hill 2 Remake and worse, Dragon Age: Veilguard, but not Visions of Mana or Stellar Blade...? At least Wukong made the list, I suppose, though I'm sure it won't win.

I haven't played any of those.

How is it considered kosher to nominate a remake for Game of the Year? That's asinine. "We want to recognise this game for carrying the medium forward by being the same as a game that already existed." Screw off. That's like if 'Return of the Jedi: The Special Edition' had been nominated for Best Picture in '97.

Best new game I played so far this year was '#BLUD'. Great game.

I agree, remakes probably shouldn't count. Heck, The Game Awards allows DLC to count for Gane of the Year, which is probably even worse. Remakes and DLC should just get their own categories, God knows TGA certainly has no qualms with having twins of categories already anyway, some much less important than those categories would be.
