What are your favourite NES games?
Has the list of your favourites changed over the years?
When was the last time you played any of them?

1. 'Kung Fu'
2. 'Legend of Zelda'
3. 'North and South'
4. SMB3
5. 'Excitebike'

...like, those are pretty much right. And then there's a slew of other stuff---------the other Marios, 'Contra', 'River City Ransom', the Ninja Gaidens and all. It's been a long time since I turned on my NES. I believe the last time was when we were doing that wacky forum gaming challenge here----------I challenged everyone to 'Kung Fu', and then I barely took like fourth place out of a field of seven. Real tough guy, here.

River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball were my top two or at least two of my top three pretty much the whole time. Also enjoyed Nintendo World Cup. Maybe not a top 10 but one of my favorites.

I was a big fan of the Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda. They were never right on the top, but I'd put at least a couple of them in my top 10.

Final Fantasy was a great introduction to the RPG market, and then Square took it and ran with it, whereas Enix all but abandoned the US for a decade.

Nobunaga's Ambition was great for what it was. They were always about two generations behind on graphics and sound, but the gameplay was solid from the beginning.

I'd probably have to put Maniac Mansion on the list. Not sure I could get into that sort of game today.

I'm sure I've played something this century. Would like to play more. Certainly of the top games. Probably over 25 years since I played too much and more like 30 years since I put my NES into storage.

Hmmmm... I'm not super into NES games, but I can at least try to state a few of my favorite NES games 'w'
In no particular order...
  • Kirby's Adventure
  • Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Super Mario Bros. 3
  • Final Fantasy
  • Fire N Ice
  • River City Ransom
  • Micro Mages
...And darn, I'm coming a bit blank here to add more ^^;
I will say though, Fire N Ice was a recent favorite of mine, thanks to it being on NES NSO pffft! And Micro Mages was a very interesting homebrew that me and a friend came across. I think we've only done one loop of it, though.

Never played Fire N Ice as by that point the NES was pretty much dead, but I remember the original, Solomon's Key, which is also on NSO.

by I REALLY HATE POKEMON!
1. Super Mario Bros. 3
2. Super Mario Bros. 2
3. Super Mario Bros.
4. Kirby's Adventure
5. Dr. Mario
6. Bubble Bobble
7. Donkey Kong
8. Donkey Kong Jr.
9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
10. Duck Hunt

Honestly, only the top 5 are still good enough to go back to, and even then each of them have superior versions (All-Stars for Mario, and many similar but superior iterations of Dr. Mario across many platforms; having not played the Kirby remaster I can only assume it's superior too).

The rest? They're basically just nostalgia at this point, and that's just fine.

It's a really fun and funny game. The battles are pretty rad, once you know what's going on, and man but the train/base attacks are great.

We used to play 'North and South' a whole bunch in my scout troop. Like, not to the complete exclusion of SNES and PSX and N64 stuff, just to the point when Ma would see me lugging my NES down to the living room and go, "oh yeah, you invited Pete and Abey and Geoff over. Well, there's Otter Pops and Fanta, and fake Doritos. Frozen pizza down the chest freezer. I'll be at the sheepshead tourney. Be good."
