What was the last RPG you played?
When was that?
What are your favourite RPGs?

This was my favorite genre on SNES, but I've mostly outgrown it since then, though I'm sure I would enjoy games if I played them. I like games that have RPG elements mixed in with other genres. Anything where you can level up characters and gain new stats and skills.

My favorite was Final Fantasy II. I want to get back to that at some point. I played about half way through the I guess PSP version on PSN but then did not play the DLC, which is supposedly just okay, but I'm sure I would like it anyway.

Last one I played, which did not immediately come to mind because I wasn't thinking ARPG, is Titan Quest. This is by far one of my most played games on Steam. It's dated, but I enjoy the character building and mythological setting. Almost 1000 hours in, and I still haven't explored everything. Still haven't touched the new DLC. People don't seem to like it very much, but I think at least the new class should be interesting. Now that there's a sequel coming, I'm not sure I'll get to that.

Hmmmm!!!
Last RPG I've played was a few days ago... the PS1 version of Final Fantasy 1 'w' I managed to get a physical copy of FF1+2 PS1 recently from this arcade/retro game shop I usually like to go to. I really like FF1, but I've only played the remakes from GBA and onwards, which have an easier difficulty compared to the NES/PS1 versions... and man, I can already feel it lol

When it comes to RPGs, I tend to like both turn based and action RPGs. Tactical RPGs on the other hand, I'm... well, I'm starting to get sort of okay at them! It's something at least ^^;

^I quite like some tactics RPGs, myself. Are you into Disgaea at all? I played the first two Disgaea games for ages-----‐----racked up hundreds of hours in each. Lot of things to do.

Final Fantasy XII. I'm not huge on turn-based battles, because I hate not having the ability to *react*. That said, I do like Pokemon & the Earthbound/Mother trilogy.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

The tactics franchise for me was Shining Force. Arguably the best reason to own a Genesis. I've played a couple since then, but that one always stood out to me. Valkyria Chronicles was good, though I remember needing to watch videos on a bunch of missions to figure out what to do. Disgaea is a franchise I have been interested in for a while but never checked out. I own the first two on Steam.

Oh yeah, I've played through some of them! Juuust the main story, though ^^; I have played through Disgaea 1 and 2 on Steam, then 4 on Switch. I do have 5 on Switch as well, but I kind of got burned out by then, oops.

Fun fact, I still got the Genuine Prinny items in Team Fortress 2 for having Disgaea 1. Although I don't really play TF2 nowadays, heh. It's weird, I got the items after the promotion was stated to end, too.

Pokemon Crystal, I think. I was going through it but got bored, it's an amazing game and better than gen 1, but a bit less replayable than its predecessors. It was a few weeks ago or so, I suppose.

My favorites are:

Final Fantasy X
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario RPG
Earthbound
Pokemon Yellow

Those are great picks. 90's & early 00's was amazing for JRPGs, but even the rest of the 00's were pretty good, at least on handhelds. 10's is where things really dropped off a lot, and nowadays there's rarely anything notable.
