Someone tried relatively hard to make a fair, balanced 'BEst Games Ev0r!!!1' list.
...I'm torn. On the one hand, I kind of hate these dumb rankings. On the other hand, my first thought was "myahahahaa! 'secret of monkey island' beat out 'earthbound'!", so like who am I to judge.

I think it's at least "balanced" in the sense that the author's personal opinion clearly was not involved, since they just compiled an existing data set.

That's true. It's a pretty fair try. I'm just in a mood.
...main reason I hate rankings is that 'Blast Corps' and 'Soul Blade' and 'Power Stone' and all never show up. Maybe one guy in a hundred has played any of those, and that voice gets drownded out.

I dislike the ranking method more than the placement of the games on the list, but I respect trying to make a top 1000 at all. Favoring big publications just rubs me the wrong way.
The Last of Us beating Ocarina of Time and ranking as high as #2 is more than a little suspect, but otherwise the top 100 seems to be in line with what you usually see. Titanfall 2 making it there doesn't seem right though.
There's always a lot of subjectivity involved, but a lot of classics in general do seem to rank lower than I'd place them. Chrono Trigger wasn't even in the top 25... Sonic at 88?!
It's pretty fun to look at.
