Re: Your top 15 favourite sport games?
I used to play them a lot growing up. I don't play very many now, though I wouldn't mind it. The only one I've played recently is Out of the Park Baseball, which isn't even really a sports game. It's a management game which happens to be about sports, and it's very good. One problem now is that many sports games have little to no competition, so they can release little more than roster updates and get away with it, and hostile monetization strategies.
I'm sure my first sports game was one of the really bad 2600 games. I don't think any of them were any good. The first NES game that comes to mind for me is Super Dodge Ball, which was one of my favorite games on the system, but wasn't one of the earlier releases. Then Tecmo Bowl, but that was later as well. Nintendo made a number of games the first couple of years of the system's life, but I'm not sure I have played any of them. Most likely, the correct answer is Double Dribble, Ice Hockey, or Bases Loaded.

To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

Re: Your top 15 favourite sport games?
I don't really play sports games, especially not realistic ones. I've played a few like that as a kid, I had one of the football games for SNES (can't remember which), but overall I avoid them.
First sports game I played was probably this:
I can't remember if it was that exact one but it's very similar at the very least. I liked it a lot, though I was like 2-3 years old so anything would be pretty cool to me.
I can't even really manage a top 10, the latter half are just games I played and didn't dislike (and I technically didn't even play FF7S, but it's just a separate release of the FF7 mini game I did play):
NBA Jam
NFL Blitz
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Cool Boarders
Mario Tennis
Wave Race 64
Wii Sports
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Dead or Alive Extreme 3
Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding
I've never completed a sports game that had any sort of real progression system. My favorite is probably NBA Jam, it's simple, fun, and nostalgic.
