I found the 4 fiends in FF4 quite tough. I beat them at my 3rd or 2nd try. My fight against them was quite dramatic, actually. I defeated all of them, but then I got to the last one, the chick (forgot her name). Then she kept doing that Tornado thing or whatever it's called where she lowers everyone to 1-3 HP. I kept fighting her, but there wasn't much hope. I kept reviving and healing constantly, but I was losing control of the battle because she often left me unable to attack and then next turn I'd have to heal again, then she'd attack and I'd have to heal again, etc. I only got in a few attacks and a few Excalbur throws every now and then. Anyway, she ended up killing everyone except for Rydia. I knew that I could revive Rosa and try to revive the rest, but I also knew that I was losing control of the battle and if I did that the fiend might kill me at the next turn. I decided to gamble it all on one attack, hoping that I had battered the fiend enough to kill it. So Rydia, with 2 HP, petrified up to her neck, and with everyone around her dead, casts Quake... The fiend died! Yay!
That was when I realized how much Rydia rules.
