I think the problem is that they did innovate and failed. Alright, so DK64 and DKR weren't innovative games in themselves... they still departed from the original DKC gameplay. That's why the DKC and DKL games were good, and DK64 was not - DK64 wasn't a Donkey Kong game in nature. It had all the DK graphics and gimmicks, but very little actual Donkey Kong Country-style gameplay.

So you're all saying that some Donkey Kong games are DK versions of Mario games!?

I couldn't figure the title out either, but it doesn't really seem like it would give Master Mario the idea that he thought the original poster had.
