Hero Core. Freeware PC video game in the vein of Metroidvania; flying around in space, shooting things up with your shooter.

I was compelled to play this game in lieu of drawing my webcomic; it's that good. Normal mode is normal, hard mode is a completely different map with different enemy attack patterns, annihilator mode is a side-story which will rock your socks. I just beat Boss Rush mode last night, and it was exhilarating.
